Where did I say "go behind their backs"?  Ok, yeah, I didn't mean a fully detailed 100-page policy document or business plan.  I meant the basic thoughts that would be in play for change on top of the current plan in place.  She has the platform document put together over the last year (that she was part of) which she could simple adapt to suit her needs.

No doubt, she does just that and tweaks the plan BUT after it is approved at the convention.  Probably a sound tactic so as to avoid a lot of debate prior to or during the convention itself.

Well this is a pretty unusual circumstance with an incumbent stepping down to a veep that the party was doing absolutely nothing to develop

Yes, but they are going with the detailed platform submitted (which the Harris team was part of forming) before Biden dropped out and they've have one month to tweak it which they've not done.  I'm thinking it is simply a tactic (strange but useful one) by the Harris team to push the topic post convention and avoid any internal Dem debating.  We'll get the pre-Harris detailed platform as the official Dem approved platform and then she'll tweak that post convention for her campaign.

I'm sure she has basic thoughts. She has said as much. Trumps policy list on his website looks stupid (end inflation with no further details as to how is my favorite). The gop platform in 2020 was literally something like "We support President Trump, his vision of how to Make America Great Again is the official platform of the republican party". They could link the DNC platform that someone posted a few pages back, but in reality no one cares. As I posted a page back, no one votes for policy wonks...they never win. Most people don't care. Its all about the feels.

The way I see it, POTUS candidates from the mainstream parties have a public platform in a healthy America even though most voters vote "the feels".  However, in the current unhealthy America with Trump involved, if she needs to go without a public platform in order to win then I'm 100% ok with it.  I guess we are in full agreement on that point.
