In 1971, the U.S. Supreme Court decided Reed v. Reed, extending the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to protect women from sex discrimination, in situations where there is no rational basis for the discrimination.[citation needed] That level of scrutiny was boosted to an intermediate level in Craig v. Boren (1976).[87]

Sure, if that's what you want to call it when a very serious journalist asks the hard-hitting questions.

"It's beneath serious journalists to address the dumb sheet our retarded Presidential candidate says!"

And the hits just keep on coming.

October Surprise. Jack Smith's evidence drop. Can't wait.

Trump completely wrecks the career of any lawyer who works for him. Only the dumbest cult members in the history of mankind would want to put him in charge of enforcing the laws of our country.

"Giuliani is one of multiple former Trump attorneys who faced professional disciplinary proceedings for their participation in the former president’s election reversal schemes, but for most of the other Trump lawyers, their proceedings are still ongoing.”

Notice here how "warmly" Trump greets Vance, and doesn't even acknowledge Vance's wife's presence at all.  Real classy guy:

Trump talking point. Saying it over and over again doesn't make it true. Americans are guaranteed a fundamental right to privacy in the constitution. I know you fascists want big daddy government to crawl up our bowels and control every aspect of our lives, but it isn't what the country was founded on. Please move to Russia or Iran where you can live under the kind of totalitarian regime you desperately want.

Name calling on your part may be fun for you, but legally, a right to privacy just isn't the same as the right to abortion.  You may not like it, but the U.S. Constitution does not guarantee a woman the right to an abortion.  Never did.

Federal legislation is the correct legal avenue for implementation of such a right on a national basis.  It's not in the constitution.

And you call yourself a professor?

You may deny it, but the US Constitution does not grant us rights. It protects our natural rights from the government.

Women would disagree with you. So would the supreme court justices that decided Roe. Which you obviously never read. If you think I'm wrong, you also think Thurgood Marshall is wrong. He's one of the most brilliant legal minds in modern American history, and you are a crackpot who worships a senile gameshow host.

Also this argument from right wing hacks that RBG was against the Roe decision is total hogwash. She thought the argument for legalized abortion is stronger when based on gender equality than privacy. I would say it's intellectually dishonest but using the word intellectual when it comes to Trump and his supporters seems oxymoronic.

The two are not mutually exclusive, but I agree in large part with what you say.

Yep. Now, the TDS crowd will still blame him cause they are deranged and honestly possessed with anger, but Pelosi and the Dems turned down the guard. That's on them.

The part that really makes me smile is not many people give a flying f about it with how well he is doing in the polls and that has to trigger and piss people off to no end 🙂

Never said that.  RBG was a strong supporter of Roe and abortion rights.  She was also a very capable jurist who understood the defective legal reasoning that was used to justify the holding in Roe.

Again, the constitution does not grant a woman the right to an abortion.  However, as I said previously, such abortion rights on a national basis could easily be codified by federal legislation.  The democrats failed to enact such legislation when at times, they no doubt had the ability to do so.

Well, never mind that you could make a 9th Amendment argument about abortion since it was common when the bill of rights came out.

One of my pet peeves is how the 9th just gets ignored.

I just had to Google what the 9th amendment is.

 Right. An out of context right wing talking point supersedes the legal chain of command. Spinning for a traitor is nasty work.
