She did travel and meet with officials of three countries, and has drummed up Billions of private investments into those three countries in an effort to make life better there. Whether her work will make any difference is yet to be seen, but she was never put in "charge” of fixing or securing the border. You may not know this, but the VPOTUS has very little power.
