October 2, 20241 yr So Trump is going to use the tariff money to pay for childcare? That’s what he’s going with? Does anyone… I mean anyone on the entire planet…. Actually believe that ?

Actually believe that ? They’re going to ask Trump about everything Vance is saying tonight, and he’s just going to say he hasn’t discussed it with Vance.

There are certain people who, when they walk in a room, they take over the room. Frank Rizzo had that. Bill Clinton had that. Trump has that. All three were/are polarizing figures. Trump doesn’t have presence nor take over a room. He resides in an echo chamber and seldom ventures outside. When he tried the interview with the black female journalists he was laughed at by the audience, he started hurling insults, and walked out halfway through — and that was with professional journalists who has to maintain their calm. A room full of regular people would listen to about 3 seconds of his crap, tell him to "shut up, turd”, and watch him slink out of the room.
October 2, 20241 yr The question about Trump losing in 2020 is probably the biggest sound bite of the night.
October 2, 20241 yr Ok hear me out... Walz/Vance vs Trump vs Harris. 3 party ticket. No idea what Walz/Vance would run as, but I'd vote for it over he other 2 options.
October 2, 20241 yr Walz said he’s become friends with school shooters. I know someone will post him saying it, but he clearly meant to say school shooters victim families.

October 2, 20241 yr I just wish Walz would’ve said that Harris isn’t the current President and she isn’t responsible for any executive orders. She does not have power. People (even some in here) will believe that lie.

It was like a football game where both quarterbacks were slinging and running the offense, both defenses were applying good clean hits, but the special teams on both sides was shanked punts, missed FG's and returns called back for penalties. Excellent debate, both laid out detailed and convincing policy, philosophies and personal stories, but both also managed to fall flat on their faces multiple times.

That's the thing isn't it? I think the nation enjoyed watching their politicians interact like that both cordial and deep diving into substance. Harris will back Walz 100%, Trump will pull the rug from under Vance by midnight.
October 2, 20241 yr Walz looked fine, seemed fairly well spoken - seemed defensive early but got better as the night went on. That said, Vance clearly won it - well spoken and was able to overcome a barrage of biased questions from the moderators gracefully and with class. (This is coming from an independent/undecided voter) My 2 cents

October 2, 20241 yr One thing I noticed is Walz referenced his governorship a lot (and was most comfortable doing that aside from the Jan 6th exchange). Both did well and it was far from the ish show, I was expecting. However, I fully expect Trump to f it up on Truth Social. If his campaign handlers are smart they take his phone and give him a week off the campaign trail.

Yeah there’s a lot of moving parts with this election and the potential ramifications - not just within the US but on the international stage as well - a lot to take into account.
