in short don’t worry about getting 7 sacks from 2 sacks Barnett. Sweat will be fine without his help.

I'm not worried about Sweat. He was a 1st round talent that fell to the 4th rd because of serious questions about his knee. The knee has not been an issue, so a lot of teams passed on him multiple times for nothing. Barnett is a reserve on this team and when he's in the game, I expect him to play well too. This is a team sport and everybody has his role.

I agree what people are saying about Josh Sweat, but if he gets hurt, we're going to want Barnett around.  Barnett is a good depth player to have on the team.

Barnett isn’t just a reserve, he’s in the rotation and will play more than people think regardless of any injuries.

I was firmly im the 'he‘s good depth' camp too but I am sick and tired of the bonehead penalties.

Sure he wants to play more but I don‘t see him accountable for the reasons why he isn‘t. It‘s not just the great quality of our D-Line. It‘s on him being stupid countless times.

At this point I am ready to move on.

I tend to think he'd be more valuable as a reserve on this team than what he'd net us in a trade. I doubt anyone would give up more than a day 4 pick for a guy coming off an ACL tear that's had a pretty underwhelming career so far.

Is he though?

Already doubt he has made enough plays to make up for his painful mistakes.

If he is now becoming a malcontent that thinks he would play more elsewhere (true or not) I have a hard time imagining he‘s worth the trouble. Even if we only get a late round pick..

BYE FELICIA!!!

I’d be ok with him moving on.

His trade value has to be LOW though, right?

Maybe they could swap him for another high drafted player who’s underperforming with his current team.

Yeah I’m done with Barnett.  But we won’t get anything for him.  Expect him to be cut outright.

Undersized D end coming off an injury who takes stupid penalties at the worst times and fights teammates in camp.  Yeah, low value is an understatement 😂

I'm here with you on this. Pass rushing depth is invaluable. Reddick is coming off a thumb injury. Smith is injured at the moment and unproven. Graham is 35. We have a shot this year. Unless we get a really good offer, I'm keeping him.

Well is seems that 2 sacks is upset he won’t get more playing time. Maybe he needs to find himself somewhere else to play. Obviously the Eagles aren’t going to give this guy what he wants and that’s to play over more talented players than himself. What dictates playing time is what you do on the field and it’s obvious the Eagles have given this guy countless opportunities to prove he should be on their field and frankly he hasn’t stepped up. Enough is enough this guy doesn’t get it. They went to the SB without him so this idea that he’s some kind of invaluable piece is just ridiculous. They can get someone off the scrap heap who could provide them with Barnett production. I hope he finds himself a trade partner, because the Eagles don’t need distractions from an underachieving backup. Good riddance.

How can this one have the audacity to be a malcontent considering the Eagles gave this dude all opportunities to succeed? Howie even gave him a ridiculous contact when no one else wanted him. A super bowl team doesn’t need this guy pouting in the corner and messing with locker room chemistry. They can get 2 sacks from another vet and they definitely won’t get the boneheaded penalties this guy provides. Did this guy flash at any moment this off-season? The only thing that has come up is this guy getting a frigging penalty in practice and hitting the quarterback in the joint practice with the Colts. On top of that he had to be pulled away by Milton Willams. Really that’s what we are doing? Exposing Jalen Hurts in practice to the same potential treatment, because this guy is a clueless hothead? There is no reason to keep this guy at this point.

Barnett got zero push in the SB and that’s why he was in position to make that play. He’s basically celebrated for being completely inept at his job. Funny how the ball bounces sometimes.

Would you keep him at the risk of him moping around the locker room causing problems and being a selfish ****?  Howie will find a guy.  He found SUH and the other dude last year so I’m sure there will be someone floating around better equipped at handling 6-8 snaps a game that won’t be crying about not playing more.

No, but everything I've read suggests he's a good teammate and locker room guy, so I don't see him being an issue. Barnett will play 20-30 snaps a game if he stays. Hopefully just Rosenhaus being Rosenhaus.

It's a strange time to ask for a trade. Like, the worst possible time.

By tomorrow, hundreds of players will hit the open market. Why would a team trade assets for an underperforming, oft-injured guy like him when there will be many similar players available as UFAs?

Overblown !! Even though it's written in every article and said by every fan except the 2 Barnett beanbaggers in here

I can’t talk about bags of beans without everyone getting all upset these days. 😂 Anyways there really isn’t an excuse for this request. I don’t see why some guys are acting like this guy is so irreplaceable. I remember people were literally asking why did Howie resign him and he hasn’t played a meaningful snap since. He’s coming off an injury season and the season prior he had two sacks and little impact for the team at all. What does this player provide that the team can’t get from someone else? Also please don’t tell me this guy is providing 7-8 sacks. The Eagles don’t even buy that and that’s why they cut his salary and lowered his playing time to the point where he wants out. Sometimes with this fan base there are a few guys who people just latch onto and put blinders on to what’s actually going on. This is not a good football player. He won’t be missed and if by some unfortunate chance Sweat does go down I won’t be excited to see Barnett go in to replace him. Howie better trade for a better option than this guy.

I was actually a Barnett guy and thought he was taking the Graham path to be a late bloomer... That was 3 years ago now I thought that way.

I don't see how anyone especially after today's news can still be on board with this clown. Hell I was even on with him being a rotation guy this season but, I don't even want that anymore.

I think the team does like him. BG is always trying to help build him up.  But I wonder how long he’ll last before he starts being disruptive.  I also wonder if he knows he’s not full healthy and ready to play, he just returned to practice this week right?  So is he asking for a trade knowing he’s probably gonna be put on IR/pup or maybe waived with an injury settlement?  So he’s trying to jump to another team before the inevitable happens.   Either way I think we can find something to replace the production and a change of scenery may be good for him.  I don’t hate him like some but he’s never lived up to his draft status and now coming off an injury I don’t expect much from him anyway. Wasted roster spot when trimming to 53.  Better to Keep an extra young kid around a few more weeks.

We'd be lucky to get a pair of used toe nail clippers for Barnett
