Yeahhh…except I buy from there frequently. Multiple times a week, and also utilize a lot of the other services included. And the whopping $140/yr is well worth it. But keep sticking it to the man!

I don’t use all of the services but the free shipping*, videos, movies, free books, free limited use of their music pay off.  I don’t shop there multiple times a week but enough to make it worthwhile for the charge.  I do use Prime for the expedited and free deliveries to my FIL who lives in the country.  Also, if I don’t need something quick, I take advantage of the bundling deals which gets me a stipend.  Comes in real handy at Xmas time.  Also, around that time my credit card has greater cash back on Amazon.

* More accurate might be reduced priced expedited shipping because if you shop around you frequently can find an item cheaper than on Amazon but when you add in shipping, Amazon is the better deal.  I really like all the free books.  I am almost always maxed out on the number of free books in my Kindle app.

They're not an overall bad team, but they whiffed on the two most important moves, QB and HC. They're screwed.

Closest thing to a bag with eyeholes that he thought he could get away with during the interview session.

Just got Emily Wilson’s translation of The Iliad free. Great work!

Or... maybe 4 guys in formation!

Gonna be hard not to take a penalty though.   I think the rule remains needing 7 guys on the LOS, regardless of the number on the field.

I’m available to play at the vet minimum. Not sure I’ll make it through the first 2 plays but I’ll try.

So.... how can you fix it?  If you can't fix it by releasing players what option do you have?  You've got to have some guys that will take extensions?  Move dead cap to future years?

They done messed up, and they have very little to show for it.  And they added to their woes by signing Derek Carr?  Good grief.

we should probably trade them their 2nd round pick back for their 1st round pick so they can save some money

So baseball obsessed right now.  I almost forgot that there was football last night.

This is such a key game.  If the Phils take this, I predict it will be all over tomorrow.

They might actually be willing to move picks, especially if they pick high in the draft because they can't sign guys.

Yup. Allen isn’t a good HC. And carr is what he is at this point. I think he’s a poor man’s kirk cousins. They have a bunch of talent on offense. Really what holds them back is carr and their play calling. Their defense does a good job against bad and mediocre teams. Against the two best teams they face gave up 26 and 24 (carr pick 6 so they only gave up 24). Not bad but definitely a sizable difference when other 5 games opponents are averaging 14 ppg

Maybe the NFL betting on premises rule on non NFL matters is a step too far.

With Julio in the mix is Smith going to see a large spike in snaps in the slot now?

The saints new plan is Alvin Kamara annd Chris olave are the only two players. kamara just throws it to olave or try throwing it himself or runs

What if they make Taysom Hill the offensive coordinator/TE/QB so they can move his contract off the books.

I think tonight’s game is massive for the Phillies. You win then you go up 3-1. At worse you come back to CBP up 3-2 with nola game 6 and Ranger if need be to close it out in game 7. If you lose you are facing gallen game 5. Even with wheeler pitching, it’s a game that’s likely reminiscent of yesterday’s game. Where it’s gonna be low scoring and likely whose pen holds up better. Gallen at home vs. the road is completely different. Gallen at home has a 2.47 era and on the road 4.42. So there’s a chance if you lose game 4 that may be coming back to Philly down 3-2. And the Phillies outside of the series earlier this year (3 of the 4 games decided by a run) haven’t played well at chase field.

I’m amazed when I hear people don’t have Prime service. The free shipping alone more than makes up the annual cost of it each year. Not to mention the streaming service, free ebooks, Amazon Music, etc.

I don't really buy that much stuff online.  I have a few streaming services already that I don't use that much during football season anyway.  I don't really need Prime and definitely wouldn't get it for TNF only.

Phils ran into a hot pitcher. It happens.

gotta beat up their bullpen tonight

Looking at Sunday Night's game... I heard someone talking about Miami's ppg... which is ridiculously high, in part because of that 70 spot that they dropped on Denver.   BUT... throwing out their high and their low scores, they are averaging only 33 ppg (which is still very high, but not nearly as ridiculous as the 37 with the 70 included).

Eagles, doing the same thing are averaging only 26.5 ppg (25.8 overall)... which means the Eagles D needs to hold Miami in check, or the O needs to wake up.

Looking at the defensive stats... Miami (excluding highest and lowest) are allowing 23 ppg (overall they are allowing 26).   Eagles are allowing 20.5 ppg (20.7 overall).

What that shows me is that the variance in Miami's games is much more variable than the Eagles.   The Bills game and the Broncos game serve to skew the numbers.   The Eagles results have been far more consistent.   As such, I see the outcome of this game fitting more in line with the Eagles' previous games than Miami's.

If we average out the points scored vs. points allowed for each team...
The Eagles 20 ppg allowed, and Miami's 33 ppg scored... averages to about 27 points for Miami.
The Miami 23 ppg allowed and Eagles 26+ ppg scored... average to about 25 points for the Eagles.    In other words, a close game seems to be in the offing... and the last team with the ball likely wins it.  Sirianni and Co. need to keep that in mind as they go into the 4th quarter (assuming, it remains close, as I predict it will be).

Freakbeast.   But, the Eagles tried that years ago with Matt Nagy.  No can do.

The thing is they were already in a hole but could maybe have restructured their way out of it, then they went out and gave Derek Carr a 4 year $150 million contract ($60million guaranteed) with a low ball first year,  and made the hole inescapable.

Go and try and manage their cap room for next year on Spotrac, cutting and restructuring everyone I could I could only get it down to -$7million cap space, I just don't see how they get a 53 together under the cap unless they have a salary dump sale of some good players,  Wonder if they'd trade Lattimore for cheap?

There was no team that needed a rookie QB contract more than the Saints. But they were in win-now mode, so they spent on a QB in free agency. What a terrible decision. They have THREE QBs on their roster with a 10M cap hit in 2024, but zero QBs with 10M cap hits in 2023. That means Carr, Winston and Hill are locked into the Saints for 2024 and for Carr, 2025.

Miami's 5 wins are against 5 teams that have 5 wins between them, in their two games against teams that aren't embarrasing themselves with a historically bad start to the season, they gave up 82 points. They have good offensive skill players, but their season so far is beating up on bad teams that are playing badly, I don't think the Eagles are a bad team.
