To be fair, if that game had been called against us the way it was, we'd have been pissed.  Not that we haven't been on the receiving end of some BS by the refs over the years - everyone has.  Miami earned every penalty they got, but they definitely missed a few on us.

They missed a few, but honestly, it's rare for every single penalty to be called.  I'm sure they missed a few on Miami, too.

They are mostly pissed because (1) we destroyed their running game, and (2) they can't stop the brotherly shove.

Ok, so Solak believes this is bracket coverage. Others think Edmunds has the TE. Solak thinks Cunningham has the TE and blitzes once he sees him staying in to block, leaving Edmunds to help Bradberry. That makes sense to me because it does seem like Cunningham is eyeing the TE and is a bit delayed in the blitz because he’s reading what the TE is doing.

Yep. Cunningham's rush timing post-snap is consistent with a green dog, so I lean towards him having the TE, and Edmunds bracketing on Hill. Bad play call, bad pre-snap positioning, bad post-snap drop and coverage. Plenty of blame to dish out.

I thought the unis looked great. Very satisfied with the look.

Overall, a solid outing and most importantly a W and a good bill of health. On to DC.

I don’t recall seeing Garner out there at all, but I read that he rotated in for Brown at safety. He’s listed at corner here (not sure it means anything), but it was only four snaps.

Garner was in for one series in the second quarter. I even mentioned it to my friend sitting next to me that I wondered if Brown was injured or something. He even tried to scan the Eagles sideline and said he didn't see him (Brown) at all, so we were quite concerned. And we were relieved when he was back on the next series. And we never saw Garner at all after that.

It just seemed...weird.

Doesnt look like bracket to me. Bradberry looks to have inside leverage

Would rather take my chances in the inside route than just letting hill run past everyone for a TD.

Agreed. When covering someone like Hill, there are no solutions, especially not with our safeties. To quote Argo, all the calls on the play sheet are bad options, but cover-2 man under with CBs playing off the LOS is the best bad option we've got, imo.

Solak also wonders if Edmunds was coached there to kinda guess between in-breaker and go route because he can’t really do both against Hill.

Always wondered what it would feel like to be the team advantaged by the refs..

Now only a few hundred more games like this and all evens out. 😄

I get as mad as anyone for the bad plays but you really have to look at the totality of the plays and it was very good.

Probably a miscommunication. But not all brackets are inside / outside, they can be under / over or you can designate them based on reading the route similar to saban's mod concept. No clue what Desai's system calls for though, so best we can do is speculate until he or one of the players confirm in a presser.

I think we had 2 or maybe 1 penalties called but they were off set by a Miami penalty as well.

The face mask on Bradberry was missed and the roughing call where Hurts was shoved was ticky tack.

Hey I'll take it.  We've had our share of games where we were called for way more penalties.   Hopefully we get this officiating crew for a playoff game.

Wonder if the high def makes it appear slightly different

Good point - and my eyes are increasingly low def.

It's weird to see the other side complaining about officiating for once.

Geez, I would hope not. Would make it tough to stay on the same page with the CB if the S is making his drop based on a guess post-snap.

Smitty has 1 and maybe goedert, not sure AJ does though???

Certainly the go-ahead TD against Washington would count. The one where he got the taunting call.

It’s weird that it’s reasonable for once..

The uniforms look sweet AF, and are a big step up from other similar team efforts.  The whole brand is absolutely on point.

But the pedant in me looks at the colours and thinks.  They just don't match and Nike should have merch taken away from them if they can't do a colour match or shiny materials.

It was obvious looking at all the "Kelly Green" jerseys that fans were wearing walking around the concourses that they didn't all match. I'd see a few that "looked right" to me and compared them to people standing right next to them which were clearly different (wrong). And it looked to me that what the Eagles were wearing on the field were in the latter category.

Incidentally the Kelly green walls (bunting?) that circled the field absolutely looked correct. And it was plainly evident that the uniforms weren't that shade.

I want a new Kelly Green Eagles Starter Pullover jacket, dammit.

He escaped us a lot in matchup number 1.  Gotta contain him.

Reddick isn’t playing with one thumb, Carter has more experience, Sweat’s toe seems better, Davis is playing better and better and Cunningham has more experience with the D now.

3rd and 8 so I’m guessing they wanted to take away inside so that hill doesn’t get a first down and continue the drive. obviously rather give up first then the td in hindsight situation.

that said the Eagles have to make a move at safety. The issue is a couple things. Blankenship is good when he plays. He’s not a problem. He just needs to stay on the field. Brown I think it’s fine for a rookie. But he’s going to have growing pains and you have a Super Bowl roster. There is no way to know if by the time you get to the playoffs if he’s going to be capable of doing everything you want him to do. He’s missed a lot of time. Add on that’s more games in a season as a rookie that he’s played in his entire career in high school or college. So he might begin to hit a wall. Add on your depth at safety is not very good. edmunds is just not good. We can defend them on certain ways or what not but it’s not good. And Justin Evans has the same problem he’s had since entering the league. The guy can’t stay healthy. I don’t want to rely on a guy who is unreliable to be out there every Sunday.

Blankenship s injury could linger all year, rib injuries are tough but he should be Able to play through as long as he doesn't take any more cheap shots from receivers ...😡

I dunno it's tough to protect against that with bang-bang plays and friendly fire - we should get another starting caliber safety via trade for this reason as well as the state of the other spot.

Was surprised that Cunningham played 100% - didn't think that would ever happen.
