Getting Derrick Henry for Devon Allen.

Seems like a one-year rental, but well worth the meager cost if it means he can contribute while also getting to try out a change of scenery.

Yep and if he has cap room to make another move even better. Greedy,  but I'd still like another WR

How Jon Runyan has turned.  He did worse on the field right?

Never thought of be this excited to have a secondary of 4 guys over 30 and a white UDFA.

Wonder what the comp pick will be if he leaves and signs a decent deal elsewhere?

He's under contract, not eligible for a comp pick. Only way he would is if he stays here next year and leaves in 2025.

Was just about to head to the gym when the Byard news broke.  F' it! Day drinking at 2 pm again!! Lol

Wow, 4 games for that seems a bit much. I'd be shocked if it didn't get dropped to 2 games after appeal.

How well is Byard still playing these days.  Still good range in coverage? Make plays on the ball?

I cant say I watch Tennessee.

I know he's been a good player.  Is he still at the top of his game?

I know the cap implication here is a big win.  But giving up 2 draft picks for probably a half year rental, I want very high caliber play from him to call it a successful trade.

Someone give me some recent highlights so I can really get juiced?

He was ranked the #34 in the NFL’s top 100 last season for what it’s worth.

Like you I haven’t watched the Titans a lot this season, but he’s undoubtedly been one of the 3 best safeties in the NFL over the past 5 years.

He’s in what amounts to a contract year, and is known as a consummate professional as far as game preparation.

Maybe he fell off a cliff athletically this year — I don’t know — but assuming not he’s instantly the best safety we’ve had since Dawkins.

I know he was over 100 tackles and 4-5 picks last year.

Good.  Hopefully he gets up to speed quickly so he can give us that kind of production for the remainder of the year.

Also,  I guess Evans might be coming back soon if they were willing to part with another safety?

If I recall correctly, he's a repeat offender with fines, so my guess is the NFL decided, enough is enough and made an example of someone.

There are some positions that we actually need more.  Maybe we can focus there now.

Is Howie trying to steal the headlines from the Phillies with this move too?

Wait a minute. Howie just got this guy on our team right before Dallas Week?  Ok Then.

Let's go grab Carl Lawson from the Jets too. Perfect #3 DE to give our starters a blow and actually produce when on the field

That's a stretch. Not sure I'd put him over Fitzpatrick, Derwin James, Hufanga, Simmons, or even Adams.

Oh could be then. That particular hit though, on its own, wasn't anything all that egregious, from that angle at least.

A safety isn’t making us a Super Bowl contender. Hurts and the offensive coordinator need to be better

Shut up hpenis

Safety was a big need. None of the safeties on this roster have stayed healthy this season other than Edmunds.

Who did you have in mind?

NFL fans are very salty.

What they don’t realize is that he was just giving it back to the Dolphins who were doing that move just about every time they made a play.

Good for him.

Now if we can just get Myles Garrett and a 1st rounder for Derek Barnett we will be on our way

2 time first team all-pro and leads all safeties in INTs over that time period.

He doesn’t get hype because he plays for the Titans and no one watches him, but lots of NFL players say he is THE best.

PFF has him as #3 from last season:

• The do-it-all Derwin James takes No. 1: There isn’t a better combination of run defense (75.3 grade), coverage (74.5) and pass rush (90.9) at the position.

• Minkah Fitzpatrick, Kevin Byard round out the top three: Fitzpatrick's 82.4 overall grade ranked third among qualified safeties, and Byard's 79.5 overall grade was a top-10 mark.

I don’t think Ringo has been a disappointment so far. He was always going to be a red shirt year kind of guy — he’s super raw and only 20 years old as a rookie.

That’s why he was a 4th round pick at 6’2” 210 pounds with a 4.3 forty. If he was ready to play NFL ball he would have been a top 50 pick.

I don’t completely disagree with this but he is a third round choice in 2024 on a three year contract, then.  That said, I didn’t expect him to be so raw and the stiffness that made him available in the fourth is quite evident.  He gives me Davon Taylor vibes.
