Just read Jeff McLane's article on Dom that he put out earlier this year. That's a good piece and he's a special dude. Eagles entire organization is lucky to have that guy.

I don't listen to the podcast but I've heard clips here and there and I'll agree, Travis sounds his best when talking with Jason. The thing with TK is it's just overkill right now. You can't turn on the TV without seeing him in an ad or hearing his name. I opened twitter this morning and the first ad on my feed was Experian, featuring TK.

I'm not sure if it's always been this way or if I'm just more aware but it seems like in this social media fed world, the current person/thing is fed to us in overkill. Is it  because they think consumers are so dumb they need to be conditioned to accept things by making it impossible to escape? It's not just TK but he's a perfect current example of someone that is in our face 24/7. There's no such thing as moderation anymore.

Then get mad at the media who is doing it. Travis, I guarantee, wasn't sitting there like, you know how we can drive more attention to myself and the podcast, date one of the most recognizable and popular figures in the world. I'm sure he had an idea what it would entail, but likely it's waaaaay more than even he thought it was going to be. The media is probably also like...ooooh he's dating TS, lets increase the amount of times that his commercials run so we get more eyes on our product, etc. But he seems like a generally good dude, less intelligent than Jason, but well meaning. All that being said, I get TK exhaustion, it's just not really mostly his fault.

They never will, because this format means more money.  More playoff games always means more money, so the idea that they'd contract the playoffs is just whistling in the wind.  If anything, they will add MORE teams to the playoffs and the top 2 seeds won't have a bye any longer.

It is far more likely that they'll go to an 8 team playoff per league and stick to the 3 game series for Round 1, but now Top Seeds 1 and 2 will match up against Teams 7 and 8, who are currently on the outside looking in, than for MLB to turn down extra playoff money and contract the playoffs back to only 4 teams.  IF (and it's a giant IF) they did go to 4 teams, they'd have to go to a 7 game series for that one to make up for the missing games.

And yes, that means 16 playoff teams, and yes, that would mean that the regular season is FAR less important... but it is what it is.  The regular season is local TV contracts, and the local TV stations will still pay for the rights to the local team's games, because what alternative do they have?  And then MLB will get even MORE from the national networks, because now there will be FOUR 'Wild Card' matchups per league instead of just 2, and they will still have 4 matchups for the Division Series, etc.   That means a guarantee of at least 8 more games of playoff baseball to be televised and hopefully 4 more cities to be tuning in to the playoffs.  There's no way that they could recoup what they would be losing by not expanding just by extending the Divisional Series an additional 2 game maximum.  One method means 8 MORE games minimum added to the slate of playoff games.  The other means LOSING the WC Series (loss of 8 games minimum, up to 12 max) and only adding back a guarantee of 4 more Divisional Series games up to a max of 8 additional games.  Plus, while having fewer games overall with the contraction, you also have fewer fan bases tuning in.

Why would MLB do that?

Yeah that’s the next step to this is making it 16 teams. It’s only a matter of time. With the constant complaining by fan bases and media about the layoff it’s the best method to solve the issue cause it makes more money for mlb/teams and solves the layoff issue.

the thing that mlb should look into after that is moving the trade deadline back to like august 20th. 2 more playoff teams means less teams willing to be sellers especially if they are close with 2 months left. Better chance with just over a month left that more teams see they aren’t good enough and willing to deal. Like the angels this year

Ok predictions if we add one more player before the deadline who will that be?    I'm not doing a spreadsheet on this just curious to see where everyone's heads at

A younger DE could be a consideration, considering Graham's age, Sweat's contract, and Barnett's suckiness.

I’d think they may add a CB. I saw a report they like the guy from the Colts but if I were them I’d expect at least multiple day 2 picks in return.

Maybe a slot WR. Renfrow is intriguing,

Just due to the lack of trading chips and I don't think Howie has any plan to trade away a 1st or a 2nd, I don't think there are any trades unless its a low level player swap.

Almost has to be a player swap because of the guys coming off IR. There are a few more obvious names that could be cut but still have some decisions to make.

Renfrow is only 27, and could give them that reliable true slot WR that we haven't had in a long time. Provided the price was right, I'd be fine with that.

Oz has outproduced Renfrow in last 2 years.  I know the concept of a refreshed Renfrow sounds good but I don't think they'd give up much if anything for that esp with Julio signed

I think it's more a fault of their system than a lack of talent. All I want for Xmas is a white slot receiver. Is that too much to ask?

I think part of the issue is he likes to mix up and freestyle his releases. It looks cool, but it can throw off the rhythm of the play. Not sure why McD signed him to an extension and immediately buried him. It’s not like his play style was a surprise.

Agreed.   The old adage was very different when the trading deadline was first placed at July 31st.  Back then only the top team in each league made the postseason... and there was only a World Series.  So, there'd be maybe 6 teams that had a legit shot and the pretenders would be pretty well distanced from the contenders.

Eagles have a reliable slot whenever they want to use him in Greg Ward.

Just typical loser sports radio hosts batching and moaning.

Right.  Just like Devon Givens.

Just to point it out to those in Europe and where it’s observed, but the clocks go back tomorrow night so the eagles game on Sunday is one hour then it normally is.

Gotta love losing by 1 when a blatant charge isn't taken away after a challenge (2 point for Giannis) and then Giannis throws up a 2 foot blatant air ball to himself and then gets his own rebound and kicks it out for a 3 pointer.  Nice 5 point swing plus all the other horsesh!t that was going on to make sure the Bucks got that W..  That said Embiid did have some horrible decisions in a 3 minute stretch when they went up by 8 with 6 minutes to go in game

Europe sounds like a weird place

I see Tavierre Thomas was a full participant at Texans practice.  If they lose this week (which they probably won't going against the Panthers) I wonder if he can be had
