Hurts or no Hurts, the defense in the second game was awful last season. And Minshew played solid that game. 2016 and 2020 were the only times they weren’t a playoff team during Dak’s career.

Yeah, I worry they have their number like Washington.

People may not want to admit it, but Dak has absolutely shredded this defense the past five years averaging nearly 75% completion rate when he’s played. And Howell being at 90% at one point in the game today doesn’t make me feel good about stopping him next week from starting off 14/15. I get it’s different coaches and personnel, but it’s still concerning. Adjustments need to be made and if they leave the middle of the field wide open again, it’s going to be a long day. He will kill them with those throws and take it all day. I’d like to see them shade more in between the numbers and make him beat them with precise throws outside the numbers.

I’ll admit it, but this Defense isn’t the same as the others.  Different DC and a lot of different players.  Dak is not known for quick release games, so I expect the pass rush to be a bigger factor than it was today.

Perhaps. Today just felt like three steps back for Desai though who on the whole, I think has done a good job this season. Maybe it’s an outlier considering Washington games are always weird, but not being able to defend the middle of the field has been a trend this season.

Well they just swept Washington this year, so currently the Eagles have Washington's number.

Man shout out to BG. It just dawned on me that he was drafted my final year of middle school, I just turned 27 a few months ago. Hope he retires an Eagle and we never see him in another uniform

Comparing and contrasting the Miami and Washington games, at least on the surface the Defensive scheme looked to be similar.  Both QBs got the ball out quickly, effectively defusing the Eagles pass rush which was generating plenty of pressure both games, just not getting home.  The big difference was in the Offensive game plans of Miami and Washington.  Miami tried, largely unsuccessfully to have Tua connect with his speedy receivers, and in doing so they really never exploited the middle of the field, which Washington did regularly.  Washington also threw its passes on trajectories that were much closer to the LOS than Miami did.

Not that I am complaining, cause I'm really not, more that I am flabbergasted by it, how do the 49ers go from outright destroying the Cowboys to getting dogwalked by bad teams the following weeks?  Granted I would like for that trend to continue, it's just amazing to me that it's been happening.

Purdy has regressed to the mean.

Lmao

The Vikings ownership does not pick players. The FO is completely different than the idiots who traded from Sammy Sleeves.

The Texans do not want to move Keenum. They already turned down offers in preseason. They want him as backup and mentor to CJ Stroud at least for this year.

I don't even think there is an overlap of players or coaches or FO from when Keenum was there in 2017. It was so long ago that Cousins was in DC and it was 2 team names ago.

There are 5 bird teams spanning 4 divisions. All 4 divisions are currently being led by said bird teams.

2018 Fletcher Cox would have been Defensive MVP had there not been some dude named Aaron Donald that year.

Or jj watt who had 7 forced fumbles and 16 sacks compared to 1 FF 10.5 sacks for cox.

Totally spitballing but any chance the Vikes give up anything for Mariota?

Spitballing like you hocked a loogie into your hand and fisted yourself?  Been there man. Time for bed.

Funny, but you know what I mean. The D made him look like Brady and the Cowboys seemed to be able to expose them last year as well.

Expect Wentz to be in a Giants Uniform in the next few days. My guess anyway.

To be honest I wouldn’t mind seeing Wentz get yelled at.

It worked fine for me and a couple of other people, too, I believe. In fact, I’ve had no issues so far this season. I hated the price hike, but the service seems a lot better than DirecTV.

For those having problems, check your area’s internet speeds and connection strength.

Sounds plausible, as YT has been fine until yesterday - although I’ve had similar problems in the past where Hulu would lag but nothing else was affected.

Brotherly Shove

Brotherly Sweep

We need one more variation.

Brotherly Pass

So now that will be 3 plays when we line up in that formation and nobody will know which one we will pick.

I think this was hurts best game so far this season. As said he looks a lot better in the pocket and made some really  nice passes. If the knee injury makes him less mobile and more like this then I think it’s better for the team. He has the weapons available and used them well.

Williams is hurt.  Samuel is hurt.   Purdy is concussed (and frankly, not that good).

Oh, and Kyle Shanahan is Kyle Shanahan.

Good thing for the Cardinals that they have the Seahawks to save them then, I guess.

I heard people suggest Keenum and Bridgewater tonight.  One of those two would make a bit of sense (Keenum would be better IMO).  They’re not getting anyone at QB who will lead them on a playoff push.

Murray has way too much baggage, top to bottom.  Way overdrafted, no work ethic, no leadership skills, too small to hold up …. and a big, fat, bloated contract that was a worse decision than the Deshaun Watson deal — maybe not that far, but bad

I look at Murray's numbers and I think there's a decent QB there, completely wrong for the Vikings (and they couldn't afford his contract anyway) but Murray gets way worse press than his numbers warrant. Talk about him being too small to hold up but he played a full 16 as a rookie while being sacked 48 times. The only way he gets traded is if the Cardinals eat a ton of money and I just don't see that happening, they already ate a ton of dead cap on the Hopkins trade.

I'm not worried about the defense, Desai really needs the bye week to get everyone healthy and on the same page.

You knew the secondary shuffle would catch up to them at some point, and no Carter and pretty much no Davis, well, Street tries hard.

When everyone is on the same page, Desai can get more creative, especially pre-snap, and know players won't be blowing assignments left and right.

Though a LB who could cover TEs would help.

We aren’t really getting anything from Smith (outside of his great special teams tackle on Covey) and Barnett. Graham’s snaps are pretty low (by design due to age?). Maybe all the LB smoke is just to throw people off the scent.

Are we assuming the Vikings are an organization that makes smart decisions? I don’t. They have continuously shown not do that. They should’ve dealt cousins weeks ago knowing he was gone at year’s end and could get some valuable picks if they were gonna go in a rebuild. and didn’t.

jmo, I think the Vikings were waiting until the deadline to see what the record was, and if they could make the playoffs before being sellers. if Kirk cousins didn’t get hurt today I think the Vikings are gonna try to make the playoffs at 4-4. Currently sit at 7th seed. The current 2 seed is the Seahawks. Not exactly a juggernaut as they beat the niners minus Jefferson. Maybe they go complete tank now with cousins hurt, but before that injury they had 6 more winnable games with at atlanta, vs. saints, at Denver, vs. bears, at Vegas and vs. GB. That includes two lions Games which with cousins i wouldn’t have been surprised if they split.

He has a no-trade clause. He’s not moving his entire family to another part of the country … especially NY , where Aaron Rodgers’ shadow looms.
