They were probably gonna cut him anyway to make room for guys coming off IR, so they took a chance to upgrade a 7th rd pick instead of just cutting him outright. A pretty low-risk move if it's true that he was on the chopping block either way.

Yup. Even at the bare minimum we get a 7th a year sooner since we traded a 2025 pick, so there’s some value in there 

Ojomo should be good for us. Sucks to lose Street, but we have enough bodies and have too many roster spots to fill.

Why does it "suck to lose Street” when he plays less than 10 snaps a game, barely played ST’s and has a total of 4 tackles on the year?

The eagles put them both in terrible positions last night. They got beat when youd expect them to get beat. And they made plays when playing their more traditional safety roles.

Desai is an idiot for putting them in so many man coverage situations.

 

Dean needs to be better in coverage, but size may limit that. I saw his speed on display last week when he chased down a pass to Hill on the sideline. Cunningham couldnt get there on the same play later in the game. But if hes not excelling in man coverage, hes not adding much to the defense.

 

Or was that a function of Byard not knowing the defense yet?

Yeah saw it on Twitter. He definitely got his leg up and looked like he meant to do it. Not meant to kill him but it wasn’t a hockey play at all. 

that said they should have neck guards regardless to try and avoid this.
