I think Blankenship is well adjusted, just not ever going to be a man cover type of safety. Not sure Sydney Brown is either.

The eagles put them both in terrible positions last night. They got beat when youd expect them to get beat. And they made plays when playing their more traditional safety roles.

Desai is an idiot for putting them in so many man coverage situations.

Dean needs to be better in coverage, but size may limit that. I saw his speed on display last week when he chased down a pass to Hill on the sideline. Cunningham couldnt get there on the same play later in the game. But if hes not excelling in man coverage, hes not adding much to the defense.

For the football gods sake, HE, be realistic.  Desai had been getting tighter in coverage and disguising it more.  He has two slots (which play a bit of man match) that started training as slot CB/S (Fangio likes three S looks) four weeks ago.  Byard had two practices and a walkthrough.  So of course, the zones were soft and thus had holes in them against Wasteam, who overall have maybe one of the best receiving corps in the NFCE and a pretty good receiving TE in Logan Thomas.  (Clearly better than the cow pads or giants receiving corp).  Couple that with Robinson, who is a heck of a RB.  I suspect, given their veteran status and Byard wanting to hang on to as much of the 2024 contract as possible, that they look way more in sync on Sunday after two weeks in meetings and the playbook and five practices and two walkthroughs.

Man coverage?  This team isn’t built for a bunch of that. Ricks is a little slow but shows good instincts and quickness.  Slay can cover in off man.  He really doesn’t press well and Bradberry is best in zone coverages because he needs help deep.  That’s a tough task for a secondary with one week together.

Now, as opposed to the speed Samuel, McLauren and Dotson bring to the table, Gallup and Lamb don’t.  Cook used to but his size makes him coverable.  Ricks/Brown will be fine in the slot and Bradberry with single high help should be fine.  Slay has the speed.  Part of the zone approach with Wasteam is that in the trying at keeping everything in front of them, the Eagles had to respect the commies speed. The zones will be tighter this week and the secondary a bit more in sync.

Morey might have helped the Eagles.  You think Howie will allow him the spot light?  Edge rusher trade coming!

I had the most extreme prediction for the eagles at 15-2. Halfway baby!

Well a Super Bowl was won with Jalen Mills and Ronald Darby

and giving up 500+ yards passing

If Howie has another big-ish move up his sleeve, I would bet it’s a player that hasn’t been widely discussed on the rumor mill.

It will be a DE. We need production out of Graham’s spot and he’s gone after this year. Love him but he’s bringing next to nothing to the line this year it seems. Good rotational piece at this point.

Any Chase Young takers for a late day 2 pick?

Without hesitation.

That’d be a no brainer for me. We might well play 5 D-linemen every play anyway since there’s no shot in covering everyone

Why did the Lions bother to create a great looking retro helmet, only to pair it with jerseys that looked like they were picked from a landfill?

Has to represent the city

Yes. Eagles have zero depth behind Reddick and Sweat. Brandon Graham seems to have finally lost it. Barnett never had it. Nolan Smith is clearly not ready yet. It's a lot riding on just two guys. Too many snaps.

I would we are looking at 60% no trade today, 25% edge rusher, 5% LB, 5% RB and 5% CB.

This is when the average fan just wants a trade to happen, just to happen.

i reckon howie will go big for an edge.

If so then its superbowlzzzzz

Howie might have seen the trade and doesn't want his trade associated with it.

They are going to trade Jalen Hurts for Tua Tagovailoa.... straight up.  Similar to the Eagles-Washington trade years ago... Norm Snead for Sonny Jurgensen.

Just realized 9ers play Jacksonville after their bye. That could easily be another loss. Eagles need to take care of the Cowboys this week as Detroit has a cake walk.

Kenny Moore and Jordan Hicks incoming. I'd put money on it.

I'm not worried about HFA vs. Detroit.  Detroit are (pardon the metaphor) paper tigers.  They are going to accumulate wins, but they will be lucky to win the divisional round of the playoffs against their matchup.

Let's play it out:

1 - Detroit
2 - Eagles
3 - 49ers
4 - NFC South winner
5 - Dallas
6 - Seahawks.
7 - Vikings/Bucs/Saints, etc.

In that scenario... Eagles host #7.  49ers host Seattle.  NFC South winner hosts Dallas.

Eagles, 49ers and Dallas wins.

Round 2 - Eagles host 49ers, Detroit hosts Dallas.

I think Dallas beats Detroit in Detroit.

And if we mix it up... I don't see Detroit beating the 49ers either if the Seahawks hold on to the division... nor do I see Detroit beating the Seahawks either.

As I see it, the key for the Eagles is to ensure the #2 seed at worst.  And then they still host the NFC CG if Detroit gets the #1 seed.   Eagles need to handle business with Dallas and win the division... and handle business and beat the 49ers in the regular season... and they don't have to worry about Detroit.   It will take care of itself.

And me - I don't consider myself an average fan.  I'm exceptional.

If it’s Surtain they’ll have to opt out of Slay & Bradbury contracts to re-sign him, Smitty, and Dickerson.
