Schultz had the initial report about the Eagles and 3 other teams - now saying Johnson staying put

Jaylon is really good. I still don’t get why the beers are even toying with the idea of trading him. I’d get a deal done with him or franchise him. I’m not losing a 24 year old corner who’s  good and can be good when you get out of the rebuild. Really they need to fire poles for being a moron in what he gave up for sweat and claypool and even allowing jaylon Johnson to be available

And if the 49ers got them both as was said a page back while he did nothing else I would not agree with that this year

They're not even leading their division. Purdy is a fraud, and their oline is hotass garbage. McCaffrey will be dead before week 14. Seattle getting Williams was a much bigger deal than the Niners getting Young.

How the hell did the Packers get a 3 for Rasul?

Zzzzzzzz

Because he’s good.

Because he's actually a pretty decent corner.

No, I'm gonna go with 'desperation' here.

Shouldn’t be a surprise.  Eagles made their move last week

This is why I said, I think he’s a rental. When you look at the guys the 49ers have to sign by end of 2024 it doesn’t make any sense that they’re gonna pay him and also have enough money in flexibility to pay the other guys. Armstead, aiyuk, Hufanga, ward and greenlaw are all FAs at the end of 2024. They have rollover from this year but only 1.5 cap in 2024 currently. Add on it Brock Purdy is there a guy going forward, he needs a new contract at the end of 2024 so you’re gonna wind up paying him too. There’s no way you’re gonna be able to afford to pay Chase Young, Armstead, Bosa, hargrave along the DL then Samuel, Williams, Hufanga, greenlaw, purdy, Warner, aiyuk, kittle and ward.

basically what they’re doing is they’re pushing the third round comp pick back a year by going for it now. They’re hoping that Chase Young plays well then when he gets the free agency he’s gonna get a big contract. they recoup that third round pick a year later, and then they can potentially do the same thing over again

Am I crazy for not being moved at all by the 49ers getting Young? Sure he's a good player joining a good defensive line but I have the utmost confidence in our starting 5. They can handle them, IMO.

That's for guys who don't get surgery. Maddox already had surgery.

I remember there being talk of Rashawn Slater possibly coming back last season (hurt week three), and I believe he had surgery.  One could also argue that it's tougher for a lineman to come back from that injury.  Everything would have to go just right in the recovery, but I still don't think it's out of the question.

So among NFC contenders:

Eagles -- add Byard for a 5th, 6th and a bad player

Niners -- trade a 3rd for Chase Young

Lions -- Get DPJ at WR

Seahawks -- Get Leonard Williams for a 2nd and a 5th

Cowfrauds -- we good

Byard, Julio Jones, Smitty, AJ, Hurts, Swift, Lane, Kelce, Johnson, Mailata, Dickerson, Goedert, Reddick, Sweat, Davis, Carter, Williams, Slay, Bradbury, Ghost/Brown, Roby, Ricks, Dean, Morrow/Cunningham, Elliot.

Well, 10 minutes left, gonna assume the Eagles are finished making trades.

He ruptured his bicep. Maddox tore his pec.

He played through the toe thing last year which I didn't expect, so he's tough. I just don't think it's likely.

LOL, they expected people to try to trade for Mac Jones?  What?

Eagles are already at the point where no one can beat them but themselves.  Now they just have to work on not trying to beat themselves.

Nothing any other team does scares me.

Objectively, I'd say the Seahawks made the most impactful move. I actually think they will win that division. I'd put us second as Byard was at a position of real need. I guess the 49ers would be next -- Young is having a good season, but they needed help in the secondary. And the Lions -- ok, guess it helps, but the offense was already really good.

Dallas desperately needed help (WR, TE, secondary) and stood pat.
