Am I crazy for not being moved at all by the 49ers getting Young? Sure he's a good player joining a good defensive line but I have the utmost confidence in our starting 5. They can handle them, IMO.

If he was going to a team where he was expected to be THE guy, it wouldn't be a big move. He's going to a line with Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave and Arik Armstead. I know the Eagles DL is legit, but who the hell are you double teaming on that line? Now granted, he's also coming from a stacked DL in Washington but he's going to the perfect situation where he isn't being depended on to be the guy.

39 for 52.  He started off with a ridiculous streak of completions though.   He cooled as the game went on.

The highest coverage grade PFF gave to any player on our defense was to Cunningham and despite his great effort on that wheel route, his player still came up with the ball. There was at least one play where we had Dean covering McLaurin.

Now that James Harden has been traded... is Daryl Morey still a liar?  🤔

You know damn well the drama isn't over and Harden can't wait to get interviewed and yap about the Sixers. I'm sure we're going to hear a lot from him yet.

But only if we listen.

Speaking of past Raiders GMs, I'm surprised Mike Mayock hasn't resurfaced on TV yet. I always loved his work on the draft and looked forward to all of his coverage. Was hoping he would turn back on on one of the networks making it somewhat worthwhile to watch.

Seriously… I’m not a big NBA fan these days and don’t really follow it closely, but I know enough about Harden to dislike him

Their biggest issue is who they have decided to bring in to coach in the first place, not necessarily how quickly they pull the plug.   Is there one coach in that time that proved he was actually the right coach?

Bill Callahan
Norv Turner
Art Shell (reprise)
Lane Kiffin
Tom Cable
Hue Jackson
Dennis Allen
Tony Sparano
Jack Del Rio
Jon Gruden
Rich Bisaccia (interim)
Josh McDaniels

Their issue is their hiring practices much more than their firing practices.

This is actually far worse than I thought…but the issues is misfiring on all cylinders.  The Raiders brass is all about flash and splash.  They get impatient far too quickly and try to use a rubber band to TQ a hemorrhage every few coaches.  Cable might have been the best of that bunch for them, but joins the long list of coaches that wasn’t given enough time, coupled with the gross amount of dysfunction as an organization.

Podcasts are for opinions and opinions are like ( . ). Everybody's got one.

Myself included.

How one attributes coverages is a tricky thing. If a wide receiver runs a crossing route, is it on the LB? Was it man or zone? There was a play where Dean went to his right to cover a TE. The QB threw behind him to a WR crossing left to right and Dean reversed his run and made the tackle. Is that on him? Frankly, I don't know the answer.

I’ve been probably the most critical person in here about Dean due to his size and athleticism.  Kid has a great football mind, but I’ll say this.  He’s not seen a lot in the good way a LB should when they’re playing competently.  He shows up when he should.  He’s getting his first real extended play time at this level…so only time will tell.  99% of LB’s are hard to look at objectively.  There’s only 1 Fred Warner and 1 Nick Bolton in the league.

Mayock was great way back as a draft analyst.  Once he started expanding his role as more than just a draft analyst, his quality of work absolutely plummeted.  You almost got to feel for him though…being tied at the hip to Chuckie, Mr ‘every player is the best in the league’ must have been terrible.

I really wish the Eagles could/would break out the Kelly Greens for this game.....create a highlight reel of all the Cowboys/Eagles games past to show to the team before the game and just get the fired up!!

Mayock I believe is still getting paid this year. Watch him take a job next year.

The dline he is going to isn't any better than the one he just left. And we easily handled the one he just left. So not sure why there is a concern.

This is true, there are times where a defender can do everything right in coverage and still give up a completion. But 8 out of 8 times? At least a few of those were probably Dean wasting an extra step or two, or being a tick late in reading a route, etc.

Dean may well have a trajectory like Edwards, lacking great athleticism, he needs enough experience to process what he sees at the NFL level and to get a big stronger.

For guys like that, recognition and anticipation give them the edge, Dean is smaller but faster twitch than Edwards.

McDaniels is the final nail in the BB Coaching Tree.  No one can tolerate their methods and thus, no one sane will go there to learn because it's a death knell on their career.

As someone posted yesterday, Bill B the GM has really let down Bill B the Coach... at this point I would be fine with him running out his career at Army or something.

Now he doesn't have the HoF QB in there, he's proven to be a less than stellar GM and Coach.  The game has moved on

Not easily. We couldn’t run on them.

Well I said that but you didn't quote that part.

The 9ers DL actually hasn’t played all that well this season. Lots of big names, but they are not dominating opponents. All of the guys you mentioned have 3 sacks or less, and the last 3 games they’ve given up 122 rushing yards per game.

He’s the most overrated head coach in the history of the NFL. He lucked into having Brady, but his teams sucked before Brady and now they suck after Brady.

Niners have a DC problem, not a talent problem. Chase Young is a band-aid for a wound that's already infected.
