Maybe, but since we only elevated Julio last week and didn't really sustain any new injuries, I'd be curious who they feel is needed to also be elevated. We already have 4 TE's on the roster so don't see them elevating a guy that just got here.

Sadly, I believe they would do that. Why not add another TE who won't do anything? They have 2 TEs on the injury report and both Calcaterra and Albert O haven't done anything all year.

I do think Julio being signed to the 53 puts a nail in Quez coming back this season, unless they get a long term injury from another receiver.

If Steen is even with Opeta or even a slight downgrade at first, I'd rather have him in there to get him some experience and get him ready to have a role next year.

Opeta has held up better than I expected but have always thought hes just a bit meh.

Upside of the OL with Steen in there is a lot higher, and lets hope the run game gets going with that change

Opeta is almost 28. He's been here for 4 years, started 8 games and played in a total of 33. He is what he is. He's not going to suddenly get better. I'd much rather get Steen up to speed.

That Gainwell comment broke him.  He said peace out, call me when y'all play the Giants.

Only 4 years doesn't even feel believable, I always keep thinking he was on the SB team

All kinds of good about Belichick coming to Washington (for the Eagles).

1 - BB is 72.  He's not going to be around for long... which means another quick coaching change for them in the near future.

2 - What has Bill Belicheat ever accomplished without Tom Brady?  He lucked into Brady and somehow found a magic, unsustainable, and unreproducible sauce.  He's nothing without Brady.  Yes, his defenses will be tricky, but still highly beatable, especially with an offense that can't score points.

3 - The master talent evaluator?  Nah, he's a joke when it comes to the draft.   The Pats have one of the worst drafting records of any team in the league.  And Brady was not a master stroke of strategy, but rather a dumb luck lottery ticket that somehow turned into a jackpot for the Pats.  He can't draft at all anymore... it means good players will find their way past him.   His last good draft picks in Round 1 were over a decade ago.   See the list of first rounders since 2000 below.  Is there any wonder why they are so bad right now?

4 - He won't be able to get away with cheating like he did in NE, because the Commish isn't buddy buddy with Josh Harris like he was with Robert Kraft.

Very, VERY few coaches have ever been able to replicate the magic they had with one team into magic with another.   Specifically, not a single HC who has won a Super Bowl with one team has ever gone on to win a Super Bowl with a second team, and there have been a number of them that have tried.  Most have struggled mightily with the new team and, at best, have become playoff contenders.  Mike Shanahan - won with Denver... never could replicate that with Washington.  Dick Vermeil - won with the Rams - never could replicate that with the Chiefs.  Jimmy Johnson - won with Dallas... couldn't do anything in Miami.  Tom Flores won with the Raiders... couldn't get anything done with the Seahawks.  Ditka with the Bears... garbage with the Saints.  Seifert carried on for Walsh with the 49ers, couldn't do anything with the Panthers.  Holmgren with the Packers... got to a Super Bowl with Seattle, but couldn't seal the deal.  Parcells with the Giants, couldn't get it done with the Pats or Dallas.    Parcells and Holmgren are the only two that ever even got a shot at a second SB by getting there.   Watching Doug in Jacksonville, it will be interesting to see if he can bust that trend.   But he's WAY younger than BB, so the odds for him are much higher than BB, and he's already got a playoff caliber team in place in Jax.  BB would be starting from scratch in Washington.

TLDR:  Long story short, I'd LOVE to see BB coach in Washington, especially if they have to give up draft capital to make it happen.  Would be absolutely wonderful.  He'll be mediocre at best for 4 years, then go off into retirement.

He probably said sometime in 2015 Eagles would sign Julio Jones so 🎯

He must have hit on a parlay.

All fair. He's definitely not a finished product. You can see it. Not sure the Brandon Brooks comparisons are fair as Steen is not as thick (and Brooks was so, so strong).

The good news is that he looks better than he did in the pre-season. Stoutland university!

Well, let's remember we didn't get Brandon Brooks until he'd been in the league already 4 years... and he wasn't that guy until he got here with Stoutland.

0:36 mark for the slow-mo.

Unfortunate that Kuechly got hurt here, but this was one of my favorite plays from Brandon Brooks.

I've been consistent with my belief that Eagles and Chiefs will meet in 3 straight Super Bowls.  Eagles winning the next 2 and Hurts establishing himself as the undisputed best QB in the league after winning the next two Super Bowls.

Tobi with an and one.  Let's go.  Excited about the Sixers this season.

Brooks was 330Lbs+ in his prime and could move.

I still maintain we beat the Saints if he doesn't tear his achilles. We just couldn't run the ball after that.

What the heck is there to be excited about?

What an awful TNF matchup.  Hard pass.

The Eagles value Quez and his role on the team. Despite what some fans want to believe Zaccheaus hasn't done anything to make them forget Quez. They won't leave Watkins on IR once he is healthy. They have clearly been using Jones in practice as a red zone threat, so the way I see it, Oz is the odd man out (deactive on game day) if all 3 are healthy.

I don't believe the Eagles are married to keeping Roby or J. Scott on the 53 if they need to make space. Byard has versatility and S. Brown is getting more and more experience along with Eli Ricks. Roby's season PFF grade is 49.0. J. Scott's is 60.0. Zaccheaus' is 49.6.

Welcome to the Blog!  Glad to hear opinions from the other side of the globe.  I spent three weeks on your South Island the December before COVID.  Beautiful country.

I disagree, this game has some solid storylines going. Could you imagine if Hopkins annihilates Pittsburgh’s D? Tennessee could have a biblical return from the dead and go on a tear with their rookie wunderkind. They’re the only realistic challenger to the Jags.

Or on the flipside, if PIT wins then they’re 5-3 and firmly entrenched in the playoff hunt and 1 game back from the Ravens.

This game has huge ramifications for both divisions (moreso effectively closing the book on the loser)

Certainly is! Not that I live in the South Island but objectively its way more scenic and the best part of the country for tourists.

I've been on the Board for many years but never jumped into the blog till recently.
