The Phillies have had losses this year that ended in pretty spectacular fashion. Had the last game of the angels series where harper hits his 300th then blow it the next inning then next game followed by bohm not being able to field a routine grounder. Also had dominguez walking home a guy the week prior. There’s been more but those 3 stick out cause all have been within the last 2 weeks

True they've had a recent bad run but overall this season they've won a lot of tight games

Which is part of the reason the BP has been shaky lately is due to them being overworked as the offense struggled early in the season. Frankly kimbrel has thrown more innings than they probably expected. Even soto had thrown a lot more then i think they’d have liked to this point in the season. Didn’t help dominguez got hurt and Alvarado and they were playing a ton of close games so they had to overuse some guys. That said dominguez and soto have been good for a week then bad for a week. Really the consistency with those two hasn’t been there

there was actually a discussion in the Phillies thread on this board about them just going after a ball pen arm instead of a right handed bat at the deadline. The price to pay for a right handed bat wasn’t worth it considering the jump but there were good bullpen arms knowing that Alvarado was coming off a second elbow issue, and Dominguez and soto have been inconsistent. Ideally couldve used another bullpen guy. I thought for sure they were gonna go hard after Hicks. He made a lot of sense short and long term (if re-signed)

Mike Martz says BB is putting a bounty on Jalen Hurts to injure him in week 1.

Mike Martz is an idiot, dude couldn't coach his way out of a cardboard box, and yes I'm sure BB will pull out all the dirty tricks he always does.

I see GJ Kinne is getting some love for his coaching performance yesterday for Texas State. He ain't no Prime, but could have as brighter future, or  a bigger one

Kinne can't hold a candle to "Coach Prime"... he's the bestest coach ever.

Good for GJ. Good for Prime.  Two different stories. I know Prime is polarizing but in college football if you're a coach and make yourself a draw in the recruiting process then it's smart. College football is definitely not all about coaching on the field

One will likely make it in the Pros.  The other will continue to makes show, unironically, on Prime about him

I could see prime being solid this year and next year good at Colorado then bolting to a SEC or Big 10 team that pays him a boatload of money.

I assume he will be a good College HC because of the other bits he brings to the game along with game day.  Be interesting to see if any pro team will eventually take a risk on him if his trajectory continue.s *cough* Cowboys *cough*

Looking forward to seeing how Riley does against Clemson  , I have him one of my favorite QBs in a deep class … also like

I have no idea how he is at the X's and O's part of the game.  He could be really good. Then you also have CEO coaches like John Harbaugh who hire coordinators to run their system in each unit anyway.   It's entertaining anyway.  Some people get bent out of shape by the press and statements but it's all part of the show

Possibly. I think it would have to be a little ways down the road. I think Lincoln Riley gets hired by a nfl team before him right now.

I actually think if Texas the next two years disappoints and Deion looks good at Colorado that there’s a chance the longhorns look into Deion.

As you’ve mentioned John Harbaugh’s style, I offer this. I’ve told this story many times but I never tire of it. Back in the 50s the Giants’ head coach was Jim Lee Howell. He had an open door policy for the press and one day a couple of reporters dropped in. Jim Lee had his feet up on his desk and an open newspaper in his hands. "Whatchu up to, Jim Lee,” one asked. "I’m coaching,” he said, and kept on reading.
He left offense and defense up to his coordinators and the Giants won the NFL championship that year.

It helped that his defensive coordinator was Tom Landry and the offensive coordinator was Vince Lombardi.

Hire good people and stay out of the way. It’s not always good management but with the right guys it is. Reid never messed with Jim Johnson, as another example.

I recall reading that Deon wasn't interested in the NFL. A few years ago I'd have said "Bull" due to size of the paycheck. Today I'm not sure there's much if any difference in $$$$. An NFL coach doesn't have to deal with boosters and recruiting but maybe Deon is fine with that.

Guessing Siposs will be the punter week 1 since they didn't sign anyone yet.

Lots of good moves with this team do don’t want to be too negative when I say this but it’s pretty big fail to go into the season with Siposs especially after a below average camp

An NFL coach doesn't have the NIL opportunities that a top flight college coach has.

Well yea it’s still possible he’s replaced with Mann in next 48 hours tho at this point whoever they get will be someone 31 other teams decided was less desirable than their punter

Prime wants to mentor these young men and i admire that about him.

i hate people that try to make it about his race. Dude if a HoF nfl player. And anyone that wins will have their personality applauded, whether they are Prime or dull as hell.

Replacement isn't the only option.
