EMB Blog: 2023 Regular Season thru Week 9 - NO POLITICS

I had to crap so badly near the end of 4th and felt comfortable enough to do so, thinking we’d pick up a first down and seal it (silly me).

I've never shouted so many obscenities this loudly on the can before. You’d think I had been constipated for weeks and was fighting for my life to get a turd out.

Nope. I’m just watching Eagles’ football.

Jesus Christ.

  by the slimmest of margins.    Turnover on downs at the 6 inch line.    Out of bounds at the 1.5 for a 2 point conversion.   And end of the game at the 4 yard line.

Dallas helped us a lot.  And had they kicked the FG rather than going for it on 4th down, it's hard to believe the Eagles win the game.   Similar to what happened against Washington... if Rivera goes for 2 rather than playing for OT, I think they win too.

I know.  I'm not saying the defense should get praised or anything but the results matter.   Dallas only scored 6 after half.

Just got a shot of legit left chest pain.  Need this bye.

If a W over Dallas is what takes me out, I’ll be cool with it

Most have been

Plenty to dissect but one main thought I had was Steen looked good

Injuries:

Slay…seems ok.

Bradberry…left on his own power.  Respectfully, he doesn’t offer much more than Ricks or Jobe at this point.  It’s more a depth issue.  Severity uncertain.

Dean…basically the same as Bradberry.  Uncertain severity and even more so for Dean…he’s depth at his point.

Devonta…returned, but let’s make sure he’s ok.

Goedert…that’s the big one.

I'm already tired of hearing about the "almost" TD. The game doesn't play out the same at all if he gets in because we don't start a drive at the 1/2 yard line.

Well... let's not forget that you don't get points for 'almost' scoring either.    But this defense played on a tight rope.   The offense REALLY needed to help them in the 4th quarter.  They played tight in the 4th quarter.  In the 3rd quarter they played loose.  I think the coaches are the ones that turtled... and had a bunch of bad designs to their plays.

Definitely the hero on that last offensive play.

D-Line made plays when it counted.

Hope Goedert’s injury is nothing serious but I’m guessing he broke his arm. Probably 6 weeks give or take a couple

its hilarious to state their amazing accomplishments each week after the agonizing experience of watching them suck so badly.

The defense strongly reminds me of the Phillies Bullpen.

Eagles averaged 3.3 YPC today. Run game hopefully will improve after the bye, right now it's not good enough.

We are such a stupid team. We truly can’t keep getting away with all this nonsense.

They’ve been pretty fortunate. Had 3 fumbles today. Recovered all 3. Had an 11 point lead in the 4th, managed to not get a single first down. Defense fortunate on Dak stepping out and the rookie tight end not running his route one yard more.

The thing that irritates me with this game, you had 46 seconds left. All you have to do is not get beat deep and keep everything in front of you. First play bam 36 yard penalty. Then you get a roughing the passer on the next play. You know how hard it is in the NFL to go 85 yards in 46 seconds with no timeouts and scored a touchdown? It is really Fing hard. Yet the Eagles made it like super easy that the Cowboys were already in the red zone with 27 seconds. Last week before the end of the first half, they had the same struggle. Just 34 seconds and they allowed the commanders to maneuver into FG range.

also the offense really got into a rhythm in the third quarter. They were cooking. As soon as the D made the stop at the goal line, it felt like Brian Johnson just went away from everything that they had working. I give Dallas credit but really I thought their play calling conservative and allowed Dallas to stick around. Be aggressive and deliver the knock out blow. Add on the fact that AJ Brown in the fourth quarter got one target the entire quarter is ridiculous. He is your best offensive playmaker get him the Fing ball when the offense seems to be struggling. He is a cheat code because he’s so hard to cover.

on par for the eagles the last 6 weeks. Heading into the game over the last 5 weeks swift averaged 3.6 yards per carry and gainwell 2.2.

My biggest issue playcalling wise was the run play on 3rd & 7/8 when we fumbled. There was pretty much a 0% chance we convert there so why not pass the ball when they have a timeout already. Also the 4th and 3 when we call a Go route?? Just get the first down.

Yup. F him

He had flashbacks to when Buddy tried running up the score and stiffing him after the game.

And he made the play of the game.

Great win but we had a few questionable calls go our way. Going to be very tough for us to pull it off in Dallas in a month

I thought the play calling, game plan, and play design was just odd. Especially the run game. Would like to see Hurts under center more but that’s wishful thinking

Jalen Hurts has to be the lead dog in the MVP race after today.  Now 10-0 against teams with winning records in the regular season since the start of last season.

Should help with Jurgens back.

A less hobbled Hurts would as well

I’m sorry about what I said about BG

Hopefully Roby comes back after the bye.  That should help.  Ricks will likely be better on the outside than in the slot.

BJ is one of the worst situational playcallers we’ve had in a while
