Didn't Washington score in like 40 seconds last week near the end of the game?

Eagles were up 38-24 with not much time left and they scored super quick to cut it to 7 then couldn't get the onside kick.

They were able to survive these last game defensive letdown but sooner or later it will bite them in the a** unless they fix it.

Yeah they did. Washington TD was in 43 seconds.

Guy is tough as nails. It’s fun having pride in watching someone like that. He’s everything you want from a leadership standpoint.

You have 2.5 for hpenis in his upcoming movie

Time to call it like it is. Goedert is brittle. He doesn’t pick up nagging simple injuries,  but he always picks up an injury.

They’ve been pretty fortunate. Had 3 fumbles today. Recovered all 3. Had an 11 point lead in the 4th, managed to not get a single first down. Defense fortunate on Dak stepping out and the rookie tight end not running his route one yard more.

The thing that irritates me with this game, you had 46 seconds left. All you have to do is not get beat deep and keep everything in front of you. First play bam 36 yard penalty. Then you get a roughing the passer on the next play. You know how hard it is in the NFL to go 85 yards in 46 seconds with no timeouts and scored a touchdown? It is really Fing hard. Yet the Eagles made it like super easy that the Cowboys were already in the red zone with 27 seconds. Last week before the end of the first half, they had the same struggle. Just 34 seconds and they allowed the commanders to maneuver into FG range.

also the offense really got into a rhythm in the third quarter. They were cooking. As soon as the D made the stop at the goal line, it felt like Brian Johnson just went away from everything that they had working. I give Dallas credit but really I thought their play calling conservative and allowed Dallas to stick around. Be aggressive and deliver the knock out blow. Add on the fact that AJ Brown in the fourth quarter got one target the entire quarter is ridiculous. He is your best offensive playmaker get him the Fing ball when the offense seems to be struggling. He is a cheat code because he’s so hard to cover.

There’s just no getting around it. We do so many stupid things and things awful teams do and we still win. Fumble inside the 10? Yup. Run some silly motion play that has to be synced up perfectly when all we want to do is hand it off and punt. Boom. Fumble. The opponent needs to go 85 yards in less than 50 seconds? Sure, let’s leave our slow outside corner 1 on 1 on a go route and hope he’s smart enough to get his head around. Spoiler alert: He wasn’t.

This happens a lot of weeks for us. It gets masked by wins, but we’re basically a more talented version of last season’s Vikings. We get the benefit of the doubt because we were so good last year, but this team is nowhere near as good as its record shows.

The good news is we are winning these slop fests. History suggests one-score games will even out over time. All of these things are correctable, but we’re at midseason and we still do the same silly stuff.

Give me a ping first down, Jalen. One first down, please.

its hilarious to state their amazing accomplishments each week after the agonizing experience of watching them suck so badly.

I blame it mostly on Desai.  Dak folds like a cheap seat under pressure.  Our front 4 wasn't getting home so you have ot bring pressure.  Thank God for Brandon Graham.  The old man came through in the clutch.

Our coordinators need to do some serious soul searching and decide if we, in the eternal words of Herm Edwards, "play to win the game.:

And it wasn’t even some busted coverage for a long TD. It was so surgical it looked easy.

He’s a helluva player though and it’s not like we’ll find anyone better.

It’s a billion dollar franchise. They knew either way minutes after he went in to the locker room.

In his defense, he was tackled while in an arm bar today.

It to mention it was a really freak tackle that put his arm in that spot. An injury there could have happened to anyone.

Yeah that was maddening. Their offense was red hot in the 3 quarter. Once they got the ball at the one Brian Johnson went ultra conservative. I thought after first down where they got some breathing room they should’ve looked to AJ on a slant. It’s nearly unguardable with his size and strength. Give your best playmaker a chance to come up big. Love smith but in crunch time i want the guy who’s top 3 WR to have a shot to destroy the other teams soul.

D-Line made plays when it counted.

Hope Goedert’s injury is nothing serious but I’m guessing he broke his arm. Probably 6 weeks give or take a couple

That's what I was thinking too...looked like his forearm.

Yup, a great D-line but without any blitzing allows almost any NFL QB to have time and look good. Desai let Dak be way to comfortable for most of the game. Thank Jeebus for Reddick, Sweat and Old Man Graham

Exactly.  AJ Brown is basically a cheat code with slants and double moves.

Maybe he isn’t washed.

I know everyone says I'm speed obsessed, but we do have a S-L-O-W secondary, even if we overlook the fact that it's just a plain bad secondary.

Slay was a speedster, but he's 33 at the end of this season and doesn't move like that anymore.  Byard and Bradberry join Slay on the wrong side of 30 and they were never fast guys.  Blankenship and Ricks were both undrafted in large part due to limitations with their wheels.  Ringo doesn't play at all anyway, but despite being a 4.3 guy, is a long strider who struggles with quickness (by report).

Collectively, these guys can't hang with ANYONE.  It doesn't have to be Lamb or Mclauren.  It's whomever the QB wants to target.  Any receiver these guys line up against has the raw ability to leave any one of our DBs in the dust.

This

Today was all about getting a W and staying healthy.  We shall see if we lost Goedert for an extended period which would be a blow but one we can deal with just like last year.

8-1 baby

Eagles are 8-1... with a ton of things to clean up, BUT... they are 8-1.

Dolphins looked like world beaters early... but have 3 losses and look to have been figured out.
Ravens are sitting at 7-2, and are destroying teams right now, but have been known to crumble in January.
Jags are at 6-2... who'd have seen them as a potential HFA candidate?   They have holes too.
Chiefs are 6-2.  Are they infallible?  No, but they have a guy at QB that can erase issues for them.
Cowboys are flaws.  And they have 3 losses.  They are likely taking the road road through the playoffs.
Detroit is 6-2.  Are they for real or are they paper tigers like the Bears were years ago going 13-3 but weren't actually playoff "good".
And the 49ers... they have some injuries right now, but have lost 3 in a row.   And they travel to Jacksonville next week.  We'll learn a lot about both while the Eagles sit and heal up a bit.

This team has work to do, but I much rather be in this position at 8-1 with these issues than 5-4 or 6-3.

I've said that for years when it came time to give him an extension. Love him as a player but he's a sure thing to miss 4+ games per year.
