There’s a lot of folks pointing at the defense but the game should have never come down to being as close at it was.

3 4th quarter possessions late in the game without getting a 1st down on offense is an issue they really need to work on and clean up.  Something they need to focus on in the bye week.

If anything, the defense stood out, did not get gassed and performed quite well considering they were on the field the majority of the 4th quarter.

One of them was at the 1 foot line and they created the necessary space.  The last drive was 2 obligatory runs followed by a really stupid call for a deep throw.

The offense was getting the job done all game and that late 4th lack of productivity was somewhat situationally dictated.

Even when Hurts said "how about that defense?!" it had a bit of an **I'm the leader of this team and I want to try to pick up a unit that none of us have any confidence in** kind of vibe.

In case anyone cares, today's win put the team 10 games shy of an all time 500 team record.

Not going to finally get on the positive side this season, but very well could be by this time next year.

No loving father raises a Cowboys fan.

My dad tried. 😂

If not for my mom, I’d probably be a Cowboys fan.

I love my dad, though. Yesterday would’ve been his 68th birthday. Cowboys fan or not, he was awesome. He understood the rivalry and handled my trash talk like a champ. And it's because of him I’m a Phillies fan.

Rest in peace to two great parents.

Huge win we needed. We have a real schedule coming up. Dallas has a Charmin ultra soft schedule.

Frankly solid chance the cowboys are sitting at 9-3 by the time they face us next. Seattle is the only good team and geno smith has looked terrible lately. His last 4 games he has 4 tds and 6 ints. QB rating of 77.5. Last 5 games they are scoring 16.8 ppg. I’d bet when we face the Seahawks they are going to be 7-6 or worse.

I think we'll probably drop the game in Dallas, but the split should be enough.

Not really worried about the safeties, they shouldn’t be covering WRs to begin with.

Nick Sirianni is now tied with Vince Lombardi for:

The 5th best winning percentage in NFL history of any coach whose completed a full season

The 3rd best winning percentage of any coach whose won at least 20 games

The 2nd best winning percentage of any coach whose made it to the SB (John Madden)

Wont matter bc they lost the division today

Pretty much.  Not a guarantee, but they are in a deep hole now.

Eagles had injuries this entire game and fought adversity. Great character building win here. Will clean it up some and move on. Watch the other good teams they all have sloppy wins. And losses. Chiefs, Cowboys, 49ers etc. You are not gonna steamroll these guys although that's what we want. Our leaders stepped up and finished them off for the dub. All that matters. Heal up and let's get the Chiefs.

Buffalo and Miami have the potential to not show up against Dallas or to curb stomp them.  It will be critical which of version of those teams faces them.

The offense having three 3 and outs in the 4th, rather than running an efficient 4 minute drill is an area for improvement.

the defense has a bunch of issues. Frankly they are awful in preventing teams from getting major yardage in end of half situation. They don’t create a lot of turnovers. And the secondary routinely giving up chunks of yards.

that said Brian Johnson found a groove in the third quarter. And then the fourth quarter comes around and they get the ball to 1 yard light and he goes ultra conservative the rest of the game. Your team was easily moving the ball against Dallas in the third quarter. You could have easily blown this game open when the Eagles defense stop them at the 1 yard line. Instead he goes conservative then throws in a bizarre 3rd and 3 play that was to aj but not the play call you need there. Furthermore when the offense begins to go stagnant get the ball into the hands of your best offensive playmaker. We can say whatever we want the biggest mismatch the Eagles have on this roster is AJ Brown versus anyone. There’s a reason why he’s on a historic pace. The fact that we went an entire fourth quarter without getting a first down and only one target to AJ. Brown is Fing ridiculous.

Maybe... but remember, this is the same Dallas team that dropped a game to the Cardinals.   THE CARDINALS.

THE.  CARDINALS.

If the eagles can manage to go 3-2 over the next 5 i think it’ll be enough. Giants losing jones and tyrod and the cardinals should be 3 wins at the end of the year.

The teams I thought we did not match up against well were Miami, Dallas, Washington. We’re already 4-0 vs them

The teams I thought we did match up well with (Desai’s dominant run D, prevent anything over the top) are SF, BUF, KC. Time to find out

This blog is waaaay too down right now.

We just beat a very, very good Dallas team. Dallas was a top 10 team in DVOA, and was the healthiest they have been all season (100% of their offense, missing 2 players on defense). We were banged up and had to fight out way to victory.

We're one of the few teams with a clear path to the Super Bowl (Elite offense + HFA). That's still on the table. And if you haven't noticed, there is no team that is clearly better than us other than maybe Baltimore.

I’d have agreed but 3 of the 4 are at home. they play much better at home. They have the giants at home. Frankly i could see that being a 50-0 type game with tyrod and jones out.  Only road game in that stretch is Carolina. carolina has a solid defense but that offense is so bad and can’t block. Have a hard time seeing them win that game. I’d be surprised if Dallas loses any of those games besides maybe seattle but i kind of think seattle is about to go on a skid when they go Sf, at Dallas, at Sf and vs  eagles

Baltimore? Not even remotely concerned about them

I get these games aren’t supposed to be easy, but we’ve been saying "clean it up” for the past two months. At some point, it’s just their identity. And they come up with new, insane, maddening ways to try to give games away. The fumble Steen recovered and giving up 75 yards in 15 seconds being two of them. It’s good they’re winning these games, but it’s just unnecessary drama.

It’s not as much a complaint or being down on the team as much as just expressing an annoyance.

They have some tough games.  Easy next two games but it cranks up for them a bit the rest of the way.

What the F was that play call on 3rd &3 in the 4th?!?! I can't get over that, I was screaming at the TV.

Yes... but what the drop to the Cardinals shows is that they could lose to any road team at any time.  I'm not penciling in any game as a win for them, nor any loss for the Eagles.   Let it be decided on the field.
