This is just so absurd.

Using AJ Brown as a Dallas Goedert proxy is certainly a choice.

We really missed him on the last 2 drives. Stoll is just not a viable receiving threat.

Pretty sure the Bengals are probably the best in the AFC right now

There was another hand off earlier in the game where Hurts' arm was stuck in Swifts grasp on the ball. How is this team having so much difficulty in handing the ball off.

Damn impressive how Cincinnati has turned it around again after an even worse start to this season in 2023.  It's them or the Chiefs or Ravens as the best team in the AFC.

Oh no.

Only team that could win a shootout versus KC

My wish is that from now till the next Dallas game that they improve in the areas needed and actually beat Dallas in their house.

Seems like forever since we won down there.

Nov 19, 2017, I believe. So, yeah, it's been a while.

Big. Teams will get our safeties in 1 on 1 mismatches less often. People can begin to realize Blanketship is really good. Seems too late for Sydney Brown to be put in good situations to prove himself. We may have to suffer through some washed Byard games.  Hopefully he improves through the bye.

Ghost is not really good.

Still think the play to call there is a PA boot with AJ. Either have aj with a chance to pick up the first to end the game or you just have hurts take off and it burns Dallas last timeout.

I actually thought Hurts did that on purpose. Kind of seemed like he was pulling him back to miss the tackle

Probably would’ve won in 2018 if we didn’t get screwed on the fumble on the kickoff

So whats the deal with Penny? He only had 2 carries, but he showed some juice.

That’s not true.  Defense played a lot better than most here are giving them credit for.  Hurts is banged up and without question, the mvp of this team but he knows he had multiple opportunities to put the game away at the end - that’s why he was giving kudos to the defense.

Even the botched handoff should have been a pass at the end.  A 1st down there ends the game.  Period.   Worse case scenario they punt and Dallas has the ball with 50 seconds left and 1 timeout vs 0 timeouts.   At that point, you need to take a shot at the 1st down to end the game.  60% - 70% chance you complete a pass and end the game there with a 7 yard pass.  Game over - none of the nonsense at the end of the game happens.

Defense has kept teams off the scoreboard, mostly, but haven't given us much to be confident about in terms of shutting a team down when needed.  I said it earlier and still feel this way.  This defense is like the Phillies bullpen.  There are cracks showing even when not giving up points.  Eventually, it will cost them a game, just like it did against the Jets.

Yep, which is why he was taken out of the game and didn't play again

the one youre referring to looked like indecisiveness on a read option.

It's like the Super Bowl. If the DL gets sacks they look good. When they are slowed down they get torched and can't get off the field

I think the reality is the Eagles are going to have to eat some serious salary to move on from their aging secondary next year.

I dont entirely understand the cap websites.

It seems like Slay has a hit of 11m on the roster next year, 35m if they cut him.  They take a 21.4m hit to cut him after 2024.  Kind of looks like a terrible contract, but I assume there is more to it.  Regardless, with that understanding, he's costing their cap 30m+ over 2024 and 2025 no matter what they do with him.  So I guess they might as well find out if he's got any gas in the tank for 2024.

Bradberry...4.9m cap hit next year. 17.2m if they cut him.  12.5m dead if they cut him after 2024.  So, like Slay, they basically are taking that static hit over 2 years regardless.  Even though he's younger than Slay, Bradberry is the one that may legitimately be on the roster bubble if they make some additions at the position.

Byard...14.3m cap hit versus 0.7m dead cap if cut (if I'm actually reading that right).  If that's correct, he's an instant cut unless he turns it around this year and they give him a cheap little  2 year restructure.

I could see them doing some Howie-esque Slay restructure, cutting Bradberry, and lightly dabbling with a Byard restructure before releasing him if it's not extremely team friendly.

The defense lost us the Jets game?

The whole running game didn't make sense. Hurts had 10 carries on a gimp leg. I know some are sneaks and others are broken down passing plays but Gainwell was actually getting chunks, only 3 carries. Penny ran well...2 carries. RBs need some sort of opportunity to get into a rhythm.

Cincinnati in brotherly shove situation, easy 2nd and 1 way in Buffalo territory…

ugly QB sneak fails, false start, holding on a QB scramble, sack, another false start on long FG attempt, forced to punt.

That was just a QB sneak though, not a Shove or Push.

Everyone complaining about the push sneak and wanting it banned without realizing that the absolute worst call in the game is pass interference on an underthrown ball (they got Bradberry for it on the last drive). It’s been an awful call for a few years now and quarterbacks use it as a strategy too. The defender has no other option than to impede the receiver, what else do you want them to do? Just let them by? It needs to be reassessed and taken into account when the quarterback makes a poor, underthrown ball.
