Reid always beats them, it's in KC, and he had two weeks to plan how he will destroy that secondary. I don't see it happening. The defense is going to take a few more games to get it together...if they can.

There’s too many flaws on tape the past two weeks on defense between Howell and Dak carving them out. Kelce will absolutely feast in the middle of the field. The offense will just have to match them.

Ricks is just bad.

he has physical limitations.  If he's up against someone who is just bigger and faster and can jump higher, he might have problems and have to grab a jersey. He's more polished than Ringo, from what I understand, but Ringo might have a better chance against Lamb, physically.  Maybe the Eagles could make decisions about who should play based on whether it's not such a high sparq WR. Ringo might be able to keep up, but he also might screw up?

Why was it that the Dallas TE was able to get so many catches?  I just looked him up and it's not like he's a freakbeast.

Is it me?  His offensive play designs look like high school gimmick plays.

I see a lot of people comparing this team to Minnesota last year given their flare for the dramatic. I actually think the teams couldn’t be any different other than them winning close games. The Vikings were outplayed in most of their games last year, but they would win late. How many games can you say the Eagles were outplayed in this year? They’ve been the better overall team every time they stepped on the field this season thus far. They just have these catastrophic or near disastrous errors that almost or do cost them in the Jets game’s case. In a weird way, they’re actually the anti-Vikings from last year. They give up leads and come as close as you possibly can to blowing games without doing it.

Isn't there some way the Eagles can take one of those versatile freakbeasts and teach them how to cover tight ends?  Nolan Smith, Ben VanSumeren both aren't playing much and both have the kind of size and speed you'd want to cover TEs.

I'll do VanSumeren v Kelce.  Nolan Smiths numbers are even better than VanSumerens.  https://ras.football/ras-compare/?&p1=10944&p2=23189&pos=TE

Kelce is bigger, as a 255 te v a 231 lb.  all of VanSumerens numbers are better,  402010benchvertbroad. but kelces 3 and shuttle are a tiny bit better.  I think VanSumeren can be trained to cover Kelce and other TEs.   The numbers are there.  I would think TE is the ideal position for Vansumeren to cover,  and big WRs.   shifty rbs would be difficult. In the preseason he was chasing after Keaton Mitchell, who had a 60 yard run and a 40 yard td run today,  on 9 carries.  He didn't catch Mitchell, but he kept pace for some yards, Vansumeren should be able to hang with TEs and bigger, less agile WRs.

Neither here nor there, but I hated dropping everyone back to the goal line on the final play. The Cowboys screwed up. We gave them a free 10 yards on an out route and a much higher probability play on fourth down.

Re-watching the last drive the cowboys had, that roughing the passer call against reddick was soft and Dak sold it. Granted reddick shouldn’t have even gotten that close for it to happen after the ball was released but that was as soft as the one Graham got called for last year vs. heinicke.

Maddox could come back this year, right?

Nah. His number is the only one on Sirianni’s visor. He’s done.

Damn.  Hopefully Albert O can step up because Stoll isn't the answer

My take on the big win:

— Eagles made it closer than it should have been.  As strong a 3rd quarter as they had, the 4th quarter was quite bad.  The last two possessions on offense were way too conservative.  Those last 3 offensive plays were an homage to 1970s football; run three plays and guaranteed punt to follow.

— Swift has to quit fumbling.  Very fortunate those weren’t two very costly turnovers.  Thank heaven Steen got on that last one.

— Cunningham was one of the best Eagles defenders today.  Several very good hits, and DAL were not able to expose him in the passing game

— Officiating was egregiously bad.  I could tell on first look Dak didn’t get in on the two point try, I was reasonably sure Schoonmaker wasn’t in on 4th down, and it was quite apparent Swift recovered his own fumble at the 10-yard line.  All of those plays needed booth review to overturn.  The worst, however, was the Dak sneak on 4th down.  I really don’t believe he made the line to gain; at worst it warranted a measurement.  The officials decided "Doesn’t matter; there is a personal foul tacked on”.  Sirianni had to correctly point out to them that the defensive stop would be a turnover, and the personal foul applied after change of possession.  Just terribly officiated.

— Sydney Brown looked very raw today and was exploited by the DAL passing attack.

— The DAL DL beat the Eagles OL almost all day.  I didn’t expect that to happen.  The good news is I believe DAL played much closer to their best than the Eagles did, but the Eagles still won.  Has to be a bit demoralizing for DAL

4-6 weeks on IR for Goedert.

Likely back for Seattle.

Ugh.  Was hoping it was some sort of minor sprain.   But the way he just sat there holding it I had some doubts.

Goedert missing time during the stretch of games after the bye week isn’t ideal.  Hope he gets better soon.

If they think he can be back in 4 weeks have a chance to avoid IR. Bye, KC, Buf and SF would be 4 weeks. Means he’d be back for Dallas. However I’m guessing it’s likely closer to a 5-6 week injury so IR is more likely and seattle or giants game makes the most sense

Are you serious with this greakbesst stuff still.

Lots of athletic freaks in the NFL never amount to anything and other average athletes become HOF.

Look at Jason Witten, not the fastest or most athletic guy out there but he was smart had great hands and just knew how to get open.

There's more to football then Sparq scores...😒

I wouldn’t be surprised if they try lining up Julio Jones at TE in certain sets while Goedert is out.   Could work out ok in the red zone.

It still doesn’t feel like they have a back for closing games down. You want it to be Swift, but the fumbling is a concern. They have faith in Gainwell, probably too much, but he’s not consistent (solid game from him today at least). And then they gave Penny two carries today. I still think he can be the guy for that role though.

What? Kelce is maybe the greatest receiving TE to play the game and you want to throw out a stiff UDFA LB to cover him

Yeah,  I pay attention to the sparq scores. They do describe pretty much what the person is capable of physically doing.  I'd also like to look at wonderlic,  but it's not in the data I look at.  I look for versatile freakbeasts. Other people might look for other things. I'm going to think that a CB who runs a 4.36 is going to be better in the long run than the CB with a 4.60.   I'm granting the initial competency advantage to Ricks.

I'd like to see how Vansumeren would do covering a bigger WR like Lamb,  and TEs. Or Nolan Smith.

Ringo’s weakness is his hip stiffness. He’s the absolute last corner you want in the slot.

He is a pure boundary corner, but in that role he has the tools to be elite. Long arms and strength to jam WRs, toughness in run support, and the deep speed and height to run deep.

You just don’t want him trying to cover super quick guys.
