That 2 vs. 7 seed wild card matchup would be amazing. Also would be crazy if the entire afc north made the playoffs

I don’t hate grant Williams anymore. What a troll job

I was hoping we could get him on free agency.  Would paid him instead of Bball Paul

The Eagles Next Game isn't till Monday Night in two weeks.  So this will be a much needed extended Bye.   KC is coming from Germany so they have a bye too.   Everyone needs to get healthy.  Hopefully Goedert doesn't miss much time.

Guessing Stoll remains TE#2 but from a receiving side they will rely more on Albert O /  Calcaterra, as well as seeing more designed plays for Julio.

Don't think there is much left by the way of FA if he is missing extend time. From the top of my head OJ Howard (think he is just a name now), Cameron Brate, Not sure who else is out there

Yeah those two would be the names I kick the tyres on too, Brate is a decent red zone threat if he's in shape.

This team looks like it needs a bye week. Dinged with injuries, etc.  The secondary needs a level of consistency; some of the criticism is fair, but it's been a rotating cast back there.  They need time to get healthy and everyone slotted into the roles.  Byard has been in the team for 10 days or so

Won't rehash the game too much.  The first Bro Shove, the Dallas DT was lined up way past the neutral zone, Byard gets pulled off of the pile. No call on either.. Zebras looked like the occasion was too big for them; just no consistency out there.

The O is lacking flow at the moment; when it's good, it's good. When it's not. Yikes. Everyone needs a week away from each other to come back refreshed,

But for a change, Dallas got to suck on the last minute loss pill.  Losers

I see a lot of people comparing this team to Minnesota last year given their flare for the dramatic. I actually think the teams couldn’t be any different other than them winning close games. The Vikings were outplayed in most of their games last year, but they would win late. How many games can you say the Eagles were outplayed in this year? They’ve been the better overall team every time they stepped on the field this season thus far. They just have these catastrophic or near disastrous errors that almost or do cost them in the Jets game’s case. In a weird way, they’re actually the anti-Vikings from last year. They give up leads and come as close as you possibly can to blowing games without doing it.

I’ve heard that too and it’s just lazy analysis.  Both teams have played in, and won, a lot of one score games.  But yeah, the Vikings were literally dominated in 3 or 4 games last year.  They had a negative point differential on the season despite winning 13 games.  They were +33 at their 8-1 point, Eagles are +52.  Their one loss at the midway point was a blowout…to the Eagles.

This year’s Eagles reminds me much more of a Brady-led Patriots team.  Lots of close games because every team is gunning for you and brings their A games…but they still find a way to dig deep and win

Seems like in general the yardage by RB's is significantly down this season? 650 yards from the leader at this point seem low

Hard to say what it is because a lot of big hitters are on down years, Chubb blew out his knee, Taylor held out / said he was injured, Jacobs and Henry got off to really slow starts.

By week 9 last year Chubb had 904 yards, Barkley had 932 and Henry was 923.

This is going to haunt Dallas fans for years.

Indeed.  Cost a bunch of us a few years on the tail end of our lives though.

Don’t get the bengals having Higgins at his size and not running one fade with him in the end zone like the giants used to do with plaxico

I don't get the Eagles having AJ Brown and Julio Jones and not doing the same thing.

This is also a far more talented team than the Vikings.  But, the issues are completely different, as you point out.    The Eagles' issue is that they can't seem to close out games comfortably.   They make it a cardiac case every time.

It still doesn’t feel like they have a back for closing games down. You want it to be Swift, but the fumbling is a concern. They have faith in Gainwell, probably too much, but he’s not consistent (solid game from him today at least). And then they gave Penny two carries today. I still think he can be the guy for that role though.

Maybe they do... but they haven't tried him yet.  At that point in the game, you don't really need explosiveness... you need tough running, willing to push the pile and ball security.  Maybe a certain former first round pick could give it a shot.   Can't be worse than what we are getting right now in those situations.

Not sure you can count on Calcaterra at all.

How the F was this not a penalty....isn't this the Tom Brady - you can't go low on QBs

Yes.  But these refs were only involved when they wanted to be.   At that point, they wanted to get into the locker room for halftime.  A flag just delays that.

I find it very interesting that the eagles are both the best team in the nfl and definitively worse than their 2022 team.

My take on the big win:

— Eagles made it closer than it should have been.  As strong a 3rd quarter as they had, the 4th quarter was quite bad.  The last two possessions on offense were way too conservative.  Those last 3 offensive plays were an homage to 1970s football; run three plays and guaranteed punt to follow.

— Swift has to quit fumbling.  Very fortunate those weren’t two very costly turnovers.  Thank heaven Steen got on that last one.

— Cunningham was one of the best Eagles defenders today.  Several very good hits, and DAL were not able to expose him in the passing game

— Officiating was egregiously bad.  I could tell on first look Dak didn’t get in on the two point try, I was reasonably sure Schoonmaker wasn’t in on 4th down, and it was quite apparent Swift recovered his own fumble at the 10-yard line.  All of those plays needed booth review to overturn.  The worst, however, was the Dak sneak on 4th down.  I really don’t believe he made the line to gain; at worst it warranted a measurement.  The officials decided "Doesn’t matter; there is a personal foul tacked on”.  Sirianni had to correctly point out to them that the defensive stop would be a turnover, and the personal foul applied after change of possession.  Just terribly officiated.

— Sydney Brown looked very raw today and was exploited by the DAL passing attack.

— The DAL DL beat the Eagles OL almost all day.  I didn’t expect that to happen.  The good news is I believe DAL played much closer to their best than the Eagles did, but the Eagles still won.  Has to be a bit demoralizing for DAL

I'm going to defend Swift on those fumbles.

On the first one, it was never a secure handoff, you can even hear the announcer say there's confusion. I don't know what it is about the Eagles offense this year but they look confused multiple times per game, have had penalties for delay right after timeouts a few times and often just don't look like they are gelling.

The last one, he gets the ball the exact same time AJ Brown is meshing right in front of him. Absolute disaster of a play call.

Brian Johnson should be relieved of his play calling duties during the bye week. No idea who replaces him but he's hurting this team.

You think Johnson designed a play where AJ Brown is supposed to run into DeAndre Swift as he gets the ball?  That's pure sloppy execution not play design or call.

For the last 2 years, I've been saying TE2 is a need for this team and so many say it's not a need, the depth is fine. Now here we are talking about Julio Jones taking TE reps.

The last few drafts have been loaded with TE talent and the Eagles walked away with Grant Calcaterra. Hey, maybe they sign Tyree Jackson off the Giants PS!!!

I blame him for calling a complex call when ball security is priority #1. Either way, the whole play was a mess so I'm not placing the blame on Swift for that.

You do realize that Siri designs the plays and makes some calls in game as well right?

Broken arm for Goedert.  Probably 6 weeks at least.  Brutal

Figured... the man literally put him in an arm bar take down smh. That time line puts him back for the playoffs. Definitely need that #1 seed now.
