Were they truly 'unforced' though?    Which ones are you referring to?   And did the Eagles equally not have 'unforced' errors?   Like the Roughing the passer penalty on the final 'drive' by Reddick?   The offsides by Carter at 1st and goal inside the 10 on that same drive?

Unforced errors are a part of football for both teams.   And both teams committed them yesterday.   One team came away victorious and the other is trying to find moral victory points.

If the Eagles had lost, we'd be bemoaning the Eagles for their unforced errors.   Like Swift fumbling when he was rammed into by Brown on the Eagles' final possession.  Hardly a 'forced' error.  Or throwing a low percentage pass on 3rd and 3 on the possession before that, stopping the clock, rather than running the ball (or throwing a high percentage ball) to keep the clock moving or force Dallas to burn a timeout.    Plenty of unforced errors on both sides to focus on.  Dallas wasn't unique in that.

I thought not kicking a FG when it was 28-17 early in the 4th was an unforced error by Dallas. Instead, they went for it and came away with no points. Also, Dak stepping out of bounds to me was an unforced error. Those 5 points lost the game for the Cowgirls.

Annoyed by the Reddick QB roughing as it was ticky tack AND the TE who caught that pass was pushed out of bounds moving backwards… does the clock run on that (important as DAL was out of timeouts, below 1 minute, etc.)?

They didn't call for the clock to keep moving which seems wrong.

I don’t think the boys could count on our offense falling asleep at that point, being aggressive made sense to me.

Also, if they got the game within 3 would our offense approached the game differently - who knows, it’s the multiverse.

Right, he still should've scored even with BG there, and I'm incredibly thankful he didn't cut up field a step sooner, but aside from that, I'm not sure what other play would be considered an unforced error.

Schoonmaker or whatever his name is running his route short of the goal line. Still a great play by Reed.

It’s a mute point because of the penalty, but wasn’t sure if that was a below 2 minutes or 5 minutes rule… I expected @Iggles_Phan to confirm 3,2,1…

On the goal line? That's not an error at all, it's smart football. The math on it is well documented, the win probability by going for it down there is higher than taking the 3 pts.

Eh, I guess, but I mean, Reed was right there as it is, and if he stems out deeper, who's to say that extra step doesn't give Reed a chance to make a play on it.

Reed had tight coverage on Ceedee on the first possession (3 and out).

Got schemed on the TD.

Had a nice pass defense over middle that lead to a no point drive.

The Schoonmaker play…

He did AOK.

There just aren't a lot of good TEs. Lots of teams don't have good starters, let alone backups.

Hopefully we simply use our TEs more as blockers and throw to WR3 more.

Yup - there’s probably about a half dozen TEs that are something special, the rest of league is central casting.

The call on the field was to stop the clock because he took a step forward to get out of bounds. The rule is that the offensive players must step out while moving forward or "of their own will" or something like that. Otherwise any player stepping out of bounds, regardless of contact or momentum is not a stoppage with more than 5 min on the clock.

The Johnson hate is getting out of control. He called a good game yesterday for the most part outside of the deep shot on 3rd down towards the end of the game. They were perfect in the red zone yesterday too after everyone complaining about that all season long as well. He was the least of their problems yesterday.

The players and their mistakes continue to be the main problem. They basically had three more turnovers yesterday if they don’t get lucky and the ball doesn’t bounce their way. Including that awful one at the end which would have lost them the game. Statistically and from every metric, this offense is basically identical to last season’s. The main difference being the turnovers and that’s on the players not Johnson.

I actually thought the first 3 quarters of the game johnson was doing a good job. At halftime said the start of the second half was going to be massive in this game in setting the tone and outcome. The third quarter was tremendous. They absolutely dominated that quarter. There were only 4 possession total in the quarter (Dallas started a drive ant the end with 1:13) and the eagles held time of possession 9:55 to 5:05. They seemed to have found a rhythm.

To me the 4th quarter was a disaster on players and play calling. Can say some on goedert leaving the game but i don’t think it just Dallas on that. Can’t tell me when you have 3 possessions and they all end with 3 three and outs that total 14 yards and 3 mins and 42 seconds it wasn’t bad offense. I’d say Dallas defense looked great. But really i don’t think the eagles executed well nor was the play calling very good. Think about this, the eagles heading into the 4th quarter had a time of possession lead of 26:36 to 18:24. It ended up 30:18 to 29:42. Before the 4th quarter eagles had 278 total yards and Dallas 251 total yards. Dallas in the 4th had 155 to eagles 14. The defense wasn’t great and allowed Dallas to move down the field way too easily along with bad penalties. That’s also an issue. but offense ineptitude in the 4th quarter didn’t help them out.

Okay - so discounting the penalty, even though he was moving backward the clock would’ve stopped as it was under 5 minutes.  Got it - much appreciated!

No, he still has to show forward momemntum. It's when there's more than 5 min, that it doesn't matter forward or backward.

Technically 4 weeks is Dallas cause of the bye but i think he means 4 games and he’s going on IR so be back vs. seattle

12 coaches in nfl history have won 8 of their first 9 games in back to back seasons.

11 are in the hall of fame

The twelfth is Nick Sirianni

Eagles appreciation post. I don't think many of you numb nuts member so I'm going to remind you.

Coming off a Superbowl appearance, lost a number of coaching staff members, lost major contributors, entered the game banged up at major positions, musical chairs in the secondary, 3rd String OG starting, lost TE1 in game  AND STILL

BEAT THE COWBOYS ASS to move to 8-1 with the best record in the entire league!

Ohh… but as long as he shows some sign of life, ie knocked back 2 yards but makes up 2 inches at the end going out of bounds - the clock stops.

I normally wouldn’t but this one is a huge pet peeve of mine. The word is "moot.”

When the Cowboys were at the 6 yard line on 1st down with 27 seconds left to go, their win probability was only 49%. LOL! Even analytics doesn’t believe in them.

Correct, that's my understanding.

The fact that Dallas somehow went 79 yards in 19 seconds with no timeouts is frankly ridiculous. I don’t think I’ve seen often (or maybe ever) a team with under a minute, no timeouts and run 3 plays and make up 79 yards in 19 second without it being like a Stefon diggs Minneapolis miracle type of catch. Then again saw the eagles allow the commanders to go 72 yards in 4 plays in 43 seconds last week so I’ve seen things man…
