You can't pin that loss on Dak.  He played well.   If you want to pin that loss on anybody, I'd put it on the Dallas secondary.

Technically 4 weeks is Dallas cause of the bye but i think he means 4 games and he’s going on IR so be back vs. seattle

1) I'm so pissed about that dirty tackle.  Markquese Bell should be fined and or suspended.  Get well soon Goedert, we're gonna need you for the playoff run.

2) How many QBs stay in when they are limping around like Jalen did?  I think that's a short list.

Do the deal Howie.  Make the call.

Gronk still an incredible blocker and redzone threat even in his last year in the league.

Face it, Siri has spoiled us.

We should probably be 6-3, 5-3 the second half would have us at 11-6, which is a pretty darn good season for most franchises.

Instead we're 8-1, and we're all griping b/c we lack style points.

Eagles under Siri play better as the season progresses, the bye week is at a perfect time, I expect a better Eagles team down the stretch (barring more injuries, of course).

A lot of kids have gotten experience, and a couple more will at TE for a few games. Steen got some RG work, for example, the DBs and so on.

The player to watch is Smith, a lot of rookies need that half a season to adjust to NFL speed and physicality.

I like them better this year.

Well i mean commanders Sam howell got a td going 72 yards in 43 seconds with no timeouts in week 8 so it’s been done against the eagles by far worse Qbs then a mahomes.

Nonetheless,  I like the chances on that one.

They laid the egg of all eggs against the Cardinals already this season.

Tyron Smith made an appearance yesterday and played well - not sure how many more games he has left in him.

Big time PI helps

The Eagles gifted them about 50+ yards of that with penalties.

Cause that isn’t a potential issue with the secondary going forward? Just saying the commanders did the same thing Dallas did against Bradberry in week 8 when they went 72 yards and got a touchdown in 43 seconds. They just completed the pass instead of getting a PI.

I have to go back and see what exactly the Defense that was called but given the situation of 46 seconds and no timeouts left, I have to imagine it was don’t allow anybody to get behind you and beat you deep. lost that battle. Secondly, as a veteran, you have to know a penalty is being called if you never turn your head around to try and make a play. They’re gonna do a penalty flag every time doing what he did. That was a legitimate penalty. If he doesn’t make the penalty it’s very likely a big catch down the sideline

Howell is 2nd in the NFL in passing yards.  The kid is a Baller… They need to learn to protect him and he can be a threat in future years.

That's a crazy stat.  Howell is definitely a baller.  If he can learn to get rid of the ball instead of getting sacked so many times he could be scary good.

The Eagles offense rates well in most every statistical category.Very similar to last year tho we've actually played tougher opponents. Sure there are some play cals you don't like but people have selective memory if they think that didn't happen before, Look at the old blogs

I have a hard time saying we’re well coached. We make too many silly mistakes, but we’ve been able to overcome it. Maybe you can argue that is the sign of a well-coached team, but then this would turn into a circular argument.

I've seen the Steelers and Ravens make silly mistakes as well.  But it doesn't dispel the notion that Tomlin and Harbaugh are really good coaches and they position their teams to overcome those silly mistakes - which are inevitable when humans are involved.

One is open. Long list would join me. Homers are happy after a win I get it.

I mean, I would like my chances to because I’m winning and they have to go that far. However, i do think it’s an issue and at some point it feels like you are gonna get burned

I guess aside from the running game and situational football, I'd like see Jalen's time to throw come down - we've capitalized on some big plays but hitting more in structure might cut down on some turnovers and cumulative body damage.

Besides the 3rd and 8 run on the last series that i didn’t like (would’ve liked a play action bootleg with aj brown coming across with hurts rolling giving him the option to throw to aj if he was open or just run and it still burns Dallas timeout; maybe you also get Dallas selling out for swift carry) the series after stopping Dallas at the 1. That was a massive stop. The momentum from that stop was all in your favor. I get on first down trying to get out of the shadows of your own goal post. But I felt like the next two plays were conservative. You have one of the best offensive lines in the league, you have a top 3 quarterback and you have arguably the best or one of the best playmakers in the NFL right now. I want to be aggressive. Dallas hadn’t stopped you that entire half. Go for the kill and put them out of their misery. And frankly the fact that they went three and out as quick as they did, felt like it took the wind went out of their sail, and they could never get an offensive rhythm back.

I like the idea of going for the kill... I did not like the way that they did it.   The 2nd down play with the double slants just looked really really bad.  Horrible spacing between OZ and Brown, and frankly, I don't know which one Hurts was throwing to.  And that stopped the clock...   then on 3rd down they ran the flanker screen to Smith which was dead in the water in terms of getting the first down, and he allowed himself to get pushed OOB.  He had to stay in bounds there to keep the clock ticking.   They took 1:31 off the clock on that drive.  They needed to AT LEAST get the full 2:00 off the clock...  The next drive... 3 and out, took 1:40 off the clock.   The last drive took only 0:31 seconds off the clock, because Dallas used their timeouts at that point.   Ultimately, the Eagles needed to keep the clock moving on all 3 of those possessions OR get the first down.  They did neither.  High percentage throws... or just keep running.  Where are the plays where they just scheme open a player?

and the right answer then, if not vansumeren, is?   Vansumeren is big and fast and strong enough.  There are agility questions, but Vansumeren and Kelce are closely matched (Kelce is better) on the 3 cone and shuttle.   Vansumeren is ahead on the strength and speed.

I would argue that Kelce would have a fairly great size advantage over DBs and a speed advantage over many LBs.   But Vansumeren and Nolan Smith are very fast linebackers with strong legs,  big jumpers.   I'm not guaranteeing success, I would think there would be Vansumeren and Nolan Smith trying to cover Goedert in practice.  Kelce has a 4.61 40 Vans 4.45, Smith 4.39.   Kelce has a 35 vert, Vans 42.5.   Physically, Vansumeren should be able to keep up with him.   It's not clear that he's developed the good football player part to that degree,  but the Eagles should be training him to cover tes.

Can we talk about this more haha

No one can cover Kelce alone but a former college FB can get it done.

It's typically a 6 week injury so yes

NovaCare doc on WIP this morning basically said that surgery puts him in an 8-12+ week recovery.  Surgery was basically the worst case scenario, and it's going to be questionable if he can return before the Super Bowl.  Seems he won't be back before then... its Rhys Hoskins all over again.

And their best WR wasn't in it.  Not sure how  the Cowboys thought he was going to get through the wall of defenders.

Oh yeah, that play was a mess, because it looked like he was looking to lateral to someone, but everyone else was in the end zone.

On that fourth down stop on the incompletion to Tolbert, Cunningham got smoked by Ferguson. Easy pitch and catch. I just don’t understand Cunningham playing on obvious passing downs.

Who was available at that time to come in for him?  (I don't remember who was available at that time, but I know Dean was out.)

Frankly I’m surprised they didn’t just keep going to the aj brown well. Brown didn’t have one of his 125+ games yesterday but easily could been more productive. He went into the 4th quarter with 8 targets for 7 receptions for 66 yards. He had 1 target in the 4th quarter (granted just 9 plays). We’ve talked about this before when they offense starts looking sluggish or can’t get anything going then they really should just look to feed aj brown. Because of how great he’s been this year he’s basically been unguardable unless it’s a bad pass.

They should have taken the free 10 yards and got out of bounds. It would have set up a much less difficult final play.

Only 5 seconds left, IIRC.    I think they fell apart after the sack.  That should have been a spike to kill the clock and let them compose themselves for the final 2 plays.
