So Josh Jobe gets in on one play, gets rated a 60.0, and yet his overall grade averages out to a 60.9? How does that make any sense?

Isn't it an obvious combination of Jurgens being out and Jalen being injured. The main reason the holes were so huge early on was because teams were scared to death of Hurts taking off on the RPOs IMO. Not the case anymore. Gotta get yards the old fashioned way now and Opeta/Steen haven't exactly been dominant in the run game.

Steen played well yesterday imo. He was shaky early. He looked good in the run game, he paved the way on the Gainwell td. Thought he did a really good job in the 2nd half pass blocking. For his 1st start, not bad

You deserve to be roundly mocked for filming yourself screeching like a banshee and then posting it online.

Nine snaps for Smith...smh

Efforts of the D-line were underrated.  The failed 2 point conversion was mostly Dak trying to run for his life after being flushed from the pocket.  He went out of bounds and "it's a game of inches", and all that, but lost in that commentary is the fact that he was trying to hit that corner because our D-line did it's job.

Would have been nice for the DL to keep him contained better.  They were rather undisciplined in their rush lanes.  Can't do that against Mahomes next game.

I’m mostly asking if there is a non obvious reason

Well I saw someone say that Quez being out impacted the run game :) I'm not going to mention names. Is that the answer you're looking for? 😆

I'm going to wait on the all-22 before going into Steen's performance any further. My recollection is that he had some very good plays to go with the not-so-good ones and I want to be fair.

He did a pretty nice job on Gainwell's TD run, iirc.

Disagree there I don't think the calls have been for the in players to fumble the ball around and run in to each other. There's definitely a poor execution by the players component in all of this.

Maybe I am being biased by most recent game but the 4th quarter was incomplete because of the OCs or HC going into an offensive shell and being stubborn about rushing 4. Not the only game this season where this has occurred. The players have made too many bonehead plays, for sure, but turnovers give up a possession. That's sloppy football not incomplete football like the team looks like different teams at stretches throughout the game.

Not the organization we want to emulate.

I passionately hate Arthur smith. I think he’s a fraud

You're missing the point I'm making, despite the fact that I made it clear enough for even you to understand.

Start with TESTING these things in practice.

I put up 2 players who aren't seeing much time.   VanSumeren and Nolan Smith.

Test it in practice, see if it works in practice against Goedert and other Eagles TEs, and if it does, try it in games.

It seems that every team has difficulties covering Kelce.  If you can get a similar result,  not necessarily a good one, you will be able to keep other players to do the things they can do good at.

Vansumeren and Nolan Smith both have superior athleticism, and both are at least somewhat raw. Nolan Smith is behind Reddick, so he's looking for things to do.

Gee, I wonder if the Eagles coaching staff has any idea as to the coverage capabilities of their own LBers. You're right, they should start evaluating their players. You know, really know what they can do and can't. You're a visionary...a revolutionary!

It looks like teams are playing heavy boxes against us. I haven't done a deep dive into it, but that's the sense I get.

I think Jalen being hobbled has a bit to do with it. The read defender can go harder against the RB with Hurts less of a threat at the moment to beat him outside on the keep. Have always believed one of Hurts' hidden value was that he is key component of making our run game go even when he is not the primary runner.

Right.  At some point don't we just accept that the team isn't going to be perfect, but they are resilient, don't give up and have the talent and variety to win in multiple different ways?

I hate that they keep making some of the same mistakes, but if they overcome that by doing well in other areas or closing out games and winning..."winning is the only thing that matters."

We've been waiting for this tough stretch of games.  They already dominated Miami and beat Dallas.  Now after the bye let's see how they do.  If they win most of the games of this tough stretch does it matter if it's "ugly?"  There aren't style points in the playoff seeding.

The concern going into this stretch is that the issues that we say are ugly are the types of things that usually bite you in the backside against the top teams.  So, wanting them cleaned up before hitting that stretch would have been nice.  For the most part, the Dolphins game was the best this team has looked.  If the Eagles win more games than they lose in this 5 game stretch coming up, it will be awesome, and after running through that gauntlet, we won't care as much about how it comes about, until we look at the gauntlet that will be the playoff tournament where that concern will rear its head again.

Yes, that’s one of them.

These folks that actually say this need to explain how "it is not football."  What is football?  And what about that play is not football?

Beat two top teams so far. So far so good? :)

So what’s wrong with our run game and how did we become so bad at it? I know most are going to point at Jurgens being out but I just find it hard to believe an undersized RG is the key to make this thing go.

Jurgens out.   Hurts dinged.   And there's more film on it now.

Iron sharpens iron. Dallas game after 49ers is the only one that worries me

What I want to see is an improved running game with Jurgens back - we need to be able to run the 4 minute drill, burn clock, close out the games (and spare this defense)

This,  3 3 and outs in the 4th Q wasn't good.

PFF doesn't need to make sense.   Snake oil never does.

Seattle feels tricky because Pete C. always seems to have the Birds number.  49ers I believe we can handle them but it will be physical.   Dallas in Dallas will be a battle.  Honestly all 5 games will be a fight because all the teams need it for playoff position and standings. KC have B-More and other AFC Teams on their tails.   Bills also dropped another one so they will need this game down the line.

So Morrow is an 85 PFF score for year and Cunningham a 71 PFF score. Howie killed it at LB for 1/4th the price. Dean is for next year at this point. Don't miss Kazir or Edwards. Eye test also says they have been pretty consistent this year. Front 6/7 is actually good. Back 4/5 suck right now. But thinking continuity with Byard and Roby coming back. And a healthier crew with Ghost, Slay & Bradbury are gonna at least be mediocre by end of year.
