So Morrow is an 85 PFF score for year and Cunningham a 71 PFF score. Howie killed it at LB for 1/4th the price. Dean is for next year at this point. Don't miss Kazir or Edwards. Eye test also says they have been pretty consistent this year. Front 6/7 is actually good. Back 4/5 suck right now. But thinking continuity with Byard and Roby coming back. And a healthier crew with Ghost, Slay & Bradbury are gonna at least be mediocre by end of year.

I have hope they figure it out as I posted earlier today, but then I watch YouTube videos where people are pointing to how badly they got burned in the last SB and they are arguably worse there without GM and CJ. It's a pretty fair point. I think Slay has some left but Bradbury seems cooked.

Howie had the right idea in ditching Slay but then changed his mind. They chose to go with JB for another year, which was questionable, but at the same time they didn't have a ton of options. I can't fault him for bringing both back, BUT he had to see corner as a very pressing need as well.

I get Smith fell and was higher on their board, but with JP sitting there it seems like they weren't thinking too far ahead. Even if they got one more year out of them he had to know it would be the top of the list the next year. Smith will probably turn out to be a player but it's a shame...especially after the secondary got burned in the Super Bowl.

They'll look better in the coming weeks as they gel but I expect Bradbury to get picked on going forward.

Everyone keeps saying the "gauntlet" is coming up after the bye. In reality we're already 30% of the way through the original gauntlet as Miami & Dallas were part of it.

That was the preamble.

Yes, which is what I said, but we are looking at the upcoming games and worried about playing with fire.  Play with fire often enough and you are going to get burned... which is the point and the concern going into this stretch.

Only thing I'm concerned with going into the bye is the health of the players. Mission accomplished so far.

Seattle feels tricky because Pete C. always seems to have the Birds number.  49ers I believe we can handle them but it will be physical.   Dallas in Dallas will be a battle.  Honestly all 5 games will be a fight because all the teams need it for playoff position and standings. KC have B-More and other AFC Teams on their tails.   Bills also dropped another one so they will need this game down the line.

Eagles can beat all of these guys... only reason that the Cowboys game is worrisome is because of where it falls. 49ers have a tendency of banging up teams for their next opponent.

I think this team has a better offense than any of the teams remaining on the schedule.  They also don't panic in close games and they get up for big games.  They are lucky to play KC coming off of a bye.  Having Buffalo at home is an advantage.  The 49ers have their own mini gauntlet as they face the Jags and Seahawks before the Eagles.  They have the Seahawks again the week after the Eagles game.  We also get the Seahawk off a game with the 49ers.  It's not like the other teams don't have tough opponents as well.

KC is coming off a bye as well, AR always has his teams ready after byes.

Great point... the top teams are going to beat each other up in the second half of the season. Survival of the fittest... going to need that bye

Yea but for what we have plus Stoutland, you’d think they should still be able to run somewhat. Dallas isn’t good against the run. They and the Commaders are bottom half of the league. But we can only manage 3.3 and 2.7 YPC as a team against them?

For whatever reason running in between the tackles hasn’t been working.

The one or two times Swift decided to bounce it out (aka freelance a little bit) he was able to gain decent yards.   The Eagles don’t like their running backs doing that and want them to wait for holes to open/blocks etc but that hasn’t been happening.   Until it does, they should give Swift a longer leash to freelance some when needed.

5 Straight Teams in the Playoff Hunt with Winning Records.  I am not scared but this is the gauntlet of our Schedule.

Bills are too inconsistent

I'm pretty pessimistic but started the day optimistic and am now back to pessimistic. 🤣That secondary really concerns me after listing to the post game analysis. They are right that if lesser teams have torched them what will the good ones do except not let them off so easily? I do hope the rest of them will get better but chances are teams will just keep saying find JB and throw it. Fingers crossed.

Notice how the Eagles are all not lined up offsides

The secondary is never going to be anything beyond average.  We don't have the LBs or NCB for that.  But we can mitigate it with a strong pass rush and TOP.

That's why not being able to close out games is very concerning.  We can and should be good at that.

I thought I saw or heard a stat that we had dialed back the RPOs pretty significantly.  Seems like thats a staple play they just dont like, but it's too damn effective.

Since the Dolphins game they've been pretty consistent. They flat out have not been good since that game. Struggling weekly against every opponent pretty much. Needed a miracle to beat the horrendous Giants, and the Bucs went toe to toe with them. Lost to the awful Pats this season too.

Greg Olsen mentioned on the broadcast that Kelce said that teams had taken away what worked last season.  I haven't seen a zone-read work this season.  I have seen several RPO's work where Hurts hits the slant or Goedert in the flat.

Hurts clearly has been playing injured for a while

I think they had an idea when they were trying to see if Bradbury could play the slot. It could be that his key Superbowl penalty sent him spiraling downwards confidence-wise and otherwise. Kinda wondered if that might affect him. He was pretty good last year.

Chargers and Jets? Is it just me or have alot of the SNF and MNF been completely unwatchable? This is not a game that has any juice at all. bleh

It would be completely unwatchable, but luckily 3 of our league's fantasy matchups will be determined by this game.  One is pretty much decided, two are close.  That at least makes it more fun to witness

Some of those numbers feel like they don’t pass the eye test, namely Blankenship.  He was getting targeted and burnt all afternoon.  Maybe he was racking up points for tackling the guys catching balls over him and for a bs ff/fr on the last play.

I thought Milton Williams had a few nice pressures.

Is it disloyal to say I think the Ravens and not us are the best team in the league right now regardless of record?

Can we talk about this more haha

No one can cover Kelce but a former college FB can get it done.

No,  you don't use a proven good player on Kelce when that proven good player can't get it done.

Put Slay on him.  Slay won't get it done,  and whoever is replacing Slay won't be able to get it done.

And I should point out that what you're saying is incredibly lacking in specifics.  Thanks for something incredibly basic.

The Eagles have Nolan Smith and Vansumeren who both have the measurables to be able to cover a TE.  Maybe.  Test this theory in practice.  Many Safeties and CBs are too small to cover TEs.  Many LBs are too slow to cover TEs. Or are lacking some size, lacking some speed,  lacking some jumps.  But Nolan Smith and Vansumeren appear to have the size and speed and jumps.  That should tested on the practice field.  Those 2 players aren't playing,  so, you aren't taking a player away from a place where he is being used.

There has to be someone here who can actually say something really intelligent about the problems that the Eagles have,  and a lot of teams seem to have, covering TEs.   People criticizing me are not giving anything close to a good response.    "Kelce is dating Taylor Swift,  no one is bigger than Taylor Swift,  the Eagles might as well forfeit."  That's what I'm hearing.

I know that the world contains someone that can say something smart about covering TEs,  but so far, EMB does not contain that person,  but that person could pop up right here.

Maybe they can try Kelee Ringo on a TE.  Ringo is on the tall side for a CB  and very fast.  Test it first in practice, for those who complain about such things.

I would be perfectly fine if the Eagles turned to a traditional offense that treated Hurts as a pocket passer (where he excels) and used the running game to support it. He's good. He's erased all doubt in my mind. Let him just be a throwing QB. He can use his legs when he needs to and that's a huge help. But let's use the weapons we have and don't overthink it. If they can't cover AJ, feed him. If DeVonta is 1 on 1 and can win, feed him. If the running game is working, keep pounding it down their throats.
