Man, we picked the wrong EDGE at 30.

I hope not. Nolan Smith could and should continue to develop into a player.

But Tuipolutu looks like a baller already.

Haas had less than 9 sacks his first 3 seasons combined due to bad coaching. Desai isn’t making anyone on this defense look as good or better than they are let’s be honest. The whole secondary is getting toasted, pass rush doesn’t get any extra time from WRs playing pitch and catch.

There’s something off about him. Guy can make any throw in the world, but at some point he needs to take some of these games that they end up blowing. The playoff game last year was abysmal.

Yikes

Weird draft prospect. He almost looked like a DT. Then he cut a bunch of weight and became awesome.

been that way since his days at Oregon.

I don't think that's coaching the team just doesn't have anyone who knows how to play the slot except Scott who they obviously think is terrible

… and  the calls at the end of the game alone are maddening and honestly should have cost them the game if Dallas didn't crap the bed. Better teams won't.

Who are the better teams than the Cowboys this year?   The Chiefs’ receivers are so bad that they are being compared to Pinkston and Thtash.  Buffalo is wildly inconsistent.  San Francisco has just lost three straight.

Curious how much of the secondary issues are talent and scheme. People can argue Slay lost a little bit and Bradberry lost a little bit, but even so, this was the 26th ranked pass defense coming into the game, probably lower now. There aren't 25 teams with better secondary talents than the Eagles, there just aren't. In 2017 the Eagles #1 corner was Ronald freaking Darby and they covered better than this.

One of the things I was thinking about in this game was, I kinda miss the Schwartz sticks defense on 3rd down. People hated it for whatever reason, but it was effective.

The Eagles should be able to get by with Slay, Bradberry, Blankenship(who's pretty damn good) and Byard as your top 4 secondary DBs without being a bottom 5 pass defense. That doesn't mean that I think they should be top 5 either, but bottom 5-6 is unacceptable and more than just the talent. Something needs to be fixed coaching-wise or schematically.

It will be interesting to see how many yards the Cowboys got on scramble plays.  There is very little that either coaching. Or scheme can do to address those snaps.  Those snaps are execution issues rather than coaching or scheme.

Ricks simply isn’t a slot corner. I think he will do better on the outside when Roby is back.

Seems like Slay is the only one that can play in the slot other than Roby

How did this crap team beat us?

Turnover battle was 4-0. Our defense has been pretty lousy at forcing turnovers over the past five or six games.

For sure.  He isn't your starting RG this year but he looked like a pretty good candidate for next year assuming Kelce retires.

I think Kelce has at least one more season in him.  Having him return would be good for the team roster quality.

It's clear the coaches don't trust him. I'd really like to see him, or Scott, get carries in the 4 minute offense with Hurts under center. We aren't using the RPO, and I just don't like Swift in those situations (ball security). Hurts under center, run behind Mailata and Dickerson.

Nothing is clear.

We are all speculating.

How many games did Goedert miss last year? I honestly can't remember. I know he was hurt in the Washington game in mid-November. The thing is, while the offense was kinda blah against the Colts the following week, they put up huge numbers in their next three games (Packers/Titans/Giants). I have to think he missed some, if not all, of those games.

My point is, it may not actually mean that our offense won't be able to function at all without him. At least based on what happened last year.

Losing him mid-game was an issue, I think, because plays they had designed which involved him were suddenly taken out of the game plan. But when you have a week (or two in the case of the Chiefs) to prepare for life without him, they ought to be able to cook up something.

So what’s wrong with our run game and how did we become so bad at it? I know most are going to point at Jurgens being out but I just find it hard to believe an undersized RG is the key to make this thing go.

Don’t forget the undersized Center.

That was the preamble.

Foreplay

Hurts being an excellent pocket passer can't be understated. He might be the best in the NFL at it. From ESPN:

Quote

His 68.9% completion percentage comes in 6.9 percentage points ahead of expectation by the NFL Next Gen Stats model, which is the best mark for any quarterback. He has a reputation for being able to damage teams outside of the pocket, but his 72.4 QBR inside the pocket ranks as the NFL's best mark this season.

hopefully getting Roby back after the bye can fix some of these brain fart moments

It is working … just not at a level that meets the fans’ expectations.

You mean working in the sense that they’re getting by and surviving right?  I’m sure their game plan isn’t pandemonium and confusion pre snap.

Some of those numbers feel like they don’t pass the eye test, namely Blankenship.  He was getting targeted and burnt all afternoon.  Maybe he was racking up points for tackling the guys catching balls over him and for a bs ff/fr on the last play.

I thought Milton Williams had a few nice pressures.

 Get your eyes checked then.

They put up good numbers against crap teams
