I can’t tell the personnel for the Cowboys, but I assume a RB lined up outside creating the mismatch. At least that’s my hope.

Also, he got beat, but that’s about as good as can be expected for a LB.

Not getting angry at any LB losing to a WR on a double move. We played-base against a 4 WR set. An LB is going to get matched up against a WR.

Roby can't return soon enough.

F it.  Wentz for Mariota straight up.

No way in hell Howie will do it, but either one of those Clemson LBers would look good at the end of round 1.

I'd rather Carter do to the potential quality coverage ability, but like you said. No way in hell the go LB there even if it's the best player on the board.

Im late to it but that Chris Simms take doesn't even make any sense.

He still has to survive the catch but the ball is spotted where he was downed.  Its literally a moot point, non-issue.

Florio is a lawyer, so of course hes going to use lawyer-ese and back him up.  But the point is total nonsense

If Wentz has to play and plays halfway decently, he should get a contract that qualified for a comp pick too.

He was released, no comp picks for the R-words

If the offense comes out in 01 personnel, there's no reason whatsoever we should have 2 LBs on the field. We should be in dime, or heavy nickel. This type of thing kills me to see. If they scored there because of that, I'd have lost my damn mind.

I am not sure what the reasoning was.  The Cowboys lined up with 4 WRS and a TE.  The Eagles are playing what looks like cover-2.  I wonder if they think Cunningham's length makes it easier for him to break up passes. They may also worry about Ricks' ability to bring down Dak if he tries to run it.  I don't think that's an unreasonable concern.  I do think they knew he was likely going to look at the right side first.  It's clear Turpin is not the first read and Cunningham did seem to slightly disrupt the route.

When Taylor was in philly, apparently DeSean taught her some gang signs, and she is now a member of the bloods.

bother figuratively and very literally, they have big problems in residential areas due to the fires the last few years.

Coyotes as well to a lesser extent. If you own a dog smaller than 50 lbs and live on the outskirts of the city, it’s life expectancy will directly correlate to how often you leave it outside unattended.

Yup, I grew up in Utah right in the benches of the mountains, and the news or radio would announce that there was a cougar in the area and if we had any small pets to bring them inside

Animal control, or forest service will come and tranq them tag em and take em far away

They have huge territories and the farther humans build and invade those territories the more interactions humans will have with those big beautiful cats.

They caught one 3 houses down from my house growing up, tranqed it in my neighbors backyard yard.

Not sure why anyone would ever hunt them or kill them they're beautiful animals and they help regulate the deer population as well.

Just my opinion, but I feel like the locker room stuff is overblown. When things were going good there were stories about bible study groups or receivers spending time with him during the offseason. Even when he was benched and Hurts was the starter in 2020, the leaders of the team like Cox were liking tweets about Carson over Hurts. Kelce also said something at the time that Carson was his QB. When he was dumped by Irsay, Jonathan Taylor, Quentin Nelson and Darius Leonard all publicly supported him on twitter. I'm sure there were groups of players that may have felt differently about him which franchise QB's need to navigate to be successful, and Carson likely failed in doing so, but I don't think he was hated by the majority of his teammates.

Possibly, makes you wonder what it could be then that it would take this long for a team to kick the tires on him when so many teams need competent QBs.

They are purposely misundertanding the concepts.  You're right.  It's 2 different things.  There is what is needed for a catch and there is a determination of when a player is down.  There are 3 elements of a catch: a) securing the ball, b) coming down in bounds (e.g. 2 feet); and (c) a football move or surviving the ground.  A player is down when any part of his body other than his hands or feet touch the ground and is contacted by an opponent.  They are 2 different rules regarding 2 different things.  I don't think Florio is that obtuse.

Obviously he has issues. A team would be signing him as a clear backup, and he’s better than a ton of other backups.   Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield are collecting nice contracts. We gave Mariota $5M after playing like crap and leaving the team once he was benched.

I just don’t see much downside to him as a pure backup.

I don't either, which is why I'm left to wonder if there's something else we're missing.

Turpin had a TD earlier in the game when the boys spread it out iirc, don't know if we got caught in our nickel base then as well.

DeVonta Smith is one of the five best wide receivers the Eagles have had over the past fifty years. The fact that he's not the team's "number one" receiver is due solely to the fact that A.J. Brown is also one of those five and he's just better right now.

Harold, Quick, and T.O are the others, by the way. DeSean is in the mix, I guess, but a cut below.

Fryar was also excellent but only for a couple years

I'd guess it multiple things. Part his attitude, part his reputation in league circles with how things went down in Philly and Indy, part because he may not have wanted to be a backup just anywhere. The fact that's signing a week after the trade deadline leads me to believe he was waiting for the perfect situation that just never came so now he's trying to salvage some value for himself this season.

Thumb injury worse than they are letting on? Or is Rypien just that bad that they've already lost faith in him?

Fryar was good but not HOF level good. Harold and TO are already in the Hall and Quick was as good as them but had his career cut short because of injuries. So to me, Fryar is a clear level below those three.

No, for the Rams.

I'm going to disagree with you on both of those takes. It obviously blew up spectacularly, but the idea of using Zeke to snap the ball made a lot of sense to me. You're already in a horrible situation where you need to go seventy (or whatever it was) yards in one play to win the game. The odds are less than one percent. Probably a lot less than one percent. But if that play (lateraling all over the field) is going to work at all, you probably are going to need guys who can actually run. You don't want to be lateraling the ball to big fat linemen who are slow and who aren't used to pitching and catching footballs while on the move. So by design, you have to put smaller, more athletic players on the field. And you need seven guys to be on the line of scrimmage, so you have to put them in positions they wouldn't normally play. Including the snapper. It didn't work out for them (and yes I was happy about that, although I do recall there were some Eagles fans who inexplicably wanted Dallas to win) but they were already in dire straits and they gave it a shot. It just so happened that the Niners played it smart and trucked the center. A lot of defenses probably wouldn't have done that. So I give the Turds a pass on that one.

And on Sunday, I thought it was actually smart for them to try to score in that frantic situation after the sack. The Eagles defense wasn't necessarily mentally prepared in that exact moment. They were celebrating the sack and were scrambling to get organized. I think a deep shot there actually had a BETTER chance than a designed play after a spike.

FWIW, I also thought the QB draw they ran the other year was smart too because it got them close. The problem was that a) Dak ran too far with the ball, forcing his teammates to have to run further to actually line up for the spike; and b) they tried to set the ball themselves. I consider that more poor execution than poor design.

Going to have to agree to disagree.  Having Zeke snap alone wasn't the only issue.   Having no "line" besides him was foolish.  It was nearly the fake punt the Colts ran years ago.  Getting the fat guys off the field, smart.   Having everyone else abandon the middle of the field?  Not smart.  I reference it by Zeke as the center, because that was the most obvious piece.   And of course, the other stuff... Dak running too far... fire drill snap.  Sure seemed like those were situations that they hadn't practiced and they got the expected result.

I have a favor to ask again of someone with access to the game footage of the Cowboys game. On the opening kickoff of the second half which goes for a touchback (Dallas kicking, Eagles receiving), where does the ball land? With the goal line considered 100 and the end line 110, what number would you say it was? The television coverage won’t allow me to come up with a decent number. I suppose I could put down 108 and not be too far off, but I’d prefer something more definitive than that. Hangtime is not an issue, by the way.

I get that we're all rightfully annoyed by the poor LB play, but we should still be prioritizing OL in the draft. It's more than likely Kelce's last year and we don't have OT3 on the roster.

Agree.  You can win with bad LBs... you can't win with bad OL.
