Dean may not be physically enough to play MIKE in NFL.  In college, he would be physical enough to handle the job, particularly with Carter in front at DL.  He could have the instinct to find the ball, which would not be enough if he can tackle and bring down the carrier.

I haven't seen him struggle to make tackles.  He also doesn't seem to get caught in traffic.  He got a half of a sack with Cox blitzing and getting by Zack Martin.  I think there are some coverage concerns.

Sadly, Smith may not be far behind. I get he is young, needs time, etc, but with JP sitting there....

I'm possibly just tired of undersized speed guys picked in the first round named Smith we have to wait on, though.

I have much more confidence in Smith panning out than Dean.

Yeah that was my impression too.  But I also haven't exactly been studying the all-22 either so what do I know.

Not all bad. He had seven OK-to-good blocks in pass pro in this possession and nice work on this OZ run by Gainwell. Lotta people blocked well on this play.470369898_2023-11-08(8).thumb.png.5e2c209d2f82d828a295b7c1117c1a31.png

Lane blocks his guy. Steen handles the DT as Kelce pulls around him.

Dickerson and Mailata control pursuit and Kelce nails the safety.

Gainwell gets the edge. Note the terrific block by Smith on the CB.

Good stuff.

I’m a little surprised we aren’t higher on this list.

Wow, Josh Mcdaniels would not allow practice squad players to be seen with the team on the sideline during games. Antonio Pierce changed that his first game as HC.

What a freaking weird policy

The first rule of team building is to alienate the players as much as possible

Goodbye sweet prince Rhys

Jack Stoll is a restricted free agent, Goedert has his injury luck, so TE might be a later target (beyond Bowers I’m not seeing anybody in rounds 1-2 and we have bigger issues there anyway).71165C05-8BD3-4F10-A9D3-5B4E60DDD7DC.jpeg.ba3b5aef6c71c8f5de57ad75ad852dc4.jpeg

If he wasn't a free agent over 30 and too expensive (market value approx. $21M per season) I would put him back out in LF -- but too many question marks around him.

Think the Phillies got the best out of Hoskins & Nola. Time to move on and tweak this thing and get new blood.

Trout is coming to a LF near you

Even if we play well and win tonight, Boston is a tough defensive match up for us in a series.  Tyrese and Embiid are going eat lot this season.  I believe Korkmaz is the PG for the Turkish National team.  Nurse is comfortable with him running the offense, but I'd like someone else as well.

Marcus Smart would be perfect. Dog overload on this team if they could pull that off.

No thanks. That contract is another 7 years and he’s missed significant time in the last 3 seasons and is entering his mid 30s. Angels aren’t gonna retain some of that contract unless you give up massive prospects which the Phillies don’t have  he might decline 2-3 years into the contract and then have his body just deteriorate. I’d have done it two or three years ago but now i think better bet is to wait for soto

What I actually think they’re going to do is sign somebody like Adam Duvall or Joc Pederson to a 1 year contract and then in 2025 when Juan Soto becomes a FA they’re just gonna go all in on Juan Soto who’s 26.

Yamamoto!

A bummer about Dean. The pick in RD3 was worth a shot. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

From here on out, assume Dean is LB 3 for the next 2 years. Will need 2 new starters next year (or resign Cunningham + draft a fast LB).

Dean could pan out but you can't assume he will. Let him earn it next year if he can

So what you're saying is Ronde Barber is going to be a key part of the Eagles organization at some point down the road!

Is that what I am saying?!  🤯.

So... Juniors will be playing in the "Senior" Bowl"?   Yeah... that makes sense.

Also this is a hell of a troll job

Does Rashaan Evans have anything to offer? It's a name.

EDIT: LOL, guess he was here for a second and blows in pass coverage

Yeah... a personal foul on the opening kickoff of the second half.   :P

Phillies should just sign Ohtani.
