Dean may not be physically enough to play MIKE in NFL.  In college, he would be physical enough to handle the job, particularly with Carter in front at DL.  He could have the instinct to find the ball, which would not be enough if he can tackle and bring down the carrier.

He had FOUR first round DL in front of him:  Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, #1 overall pick (reach) Travon Walker and Devonte Wyatt.

Dean's biggest problem is he can't stay on the field in the NFL so far. He's plenty physical enough.

I suppose the question that leads to is this:   is he big enough to be that physical?

And hits Hurst around the knees. Hurts got the pass off for a first down but this was really bad.120651087_2023-11-08(7).thumb.png.f064d6a9d6a9dbe6a3a16fbc1abad4b6.png

So, you are saying, by rule... should have been a roughing the passer call.   So, they missed hits on Hurts' knees TWICE in this game.  No call either time.  What's the job of the white hat again?  Isn't he supposed to be glued on to the QB looking for roughing?  Isn't that his primary job?

Goodbye sweet prince Rhys

I have to admit... this makes me a little sad.

At least we will always have this:

They hate him too.

Foot injuries dont have much to do with being physical. Just unfortunate. Similar size as Morrow, Hicks, Wagner, Lavonte David, Roquan Smith, Dre Greenlaw, Matt Milano

Phillies should just sign Ohtani.

That forces Schwarber back to LF again.

But, I can't say I'd hate it.   The downside other than Schwarber playing LF again, is that the lineup would be very Lefty heavy.  Schwarber, Harper, Ohtani, Stott, presumably Marsh.

Sixers.... 👀

With his TJ surgery you’d basically have to play schwarber in LF until Ohtani can come back and throw. Add on he’s likely going DH or 1B in the future when he doesn’t pitch. Plus i think dodgers are just gonna blow everyone out of the market

The Blog was in rare form that day.

Just realized we have Brandon Smith on our PS. A lot of people on here liked him in the draft.

No instincts or football IQ

Yup. Feel awful cause if he never gets hurt you likely don’t have harper playing 1b and hoskins does. Likelihood he’s back would’ve been higher.

that said i still think their best plan with the lineup was to trade castellanos away at 32. It’s similar to the contract the Phillies gave mccutchen with how many years and money left (3 for $60 mil). I think you wouldn’t get a ton but you’d get off the money before castellanos likely regressed the last 2 years (slashes from July onward were .235/.271/.452/.732). Move harper back to RF for a year and get hoskins back for 1 year cause that’s what boras wants so he can re-hit the market a year removed from the acl. (Rhys saw the second most pitches in the NL in 2022 and he gives you less chase rate and more quality at bats than castellanos). Sign someone like Joc, Pham or Duvall to play LF. At the end of 2024 move on from Rhys and love harper back to first and sign soto. I’m guessing they are gonna go all out to sign soto it’s why you likely only see a 1 year contract for their LF

Not Pham.

Think a sleeper in this is JD Martinez. He can play LF (he’s not great but competent) and he’s a really good RH bat. Plus he’s 36 so he’s likely not getting more than a 1 year deal with a club/mutual option for a 2nd

The defense. Finally have enough to throw at all of Bostons weapons on offense.

Getting a bunch of role players for Harden might have been as big as getting the unprotected 1.

Anthony melton has no business closing out this game. He’s been terrible

So the sixers and eagles both have the same problem of not slamming the door shut

A win over the Celtics always feels better than any other.

Especially when the 6ers have this new look team, are 5-1 and you want to see how good they are. Going up against 5-1 Boston who has been their cryptonite that was about as exciting a match up you can get in the 6th game of a long regular season.

And I say, despite the epic collapse of the last 2 minutes and barely hanging on to the win, the 6ers were the better team tonight. And it feels really good.

That’s a gang sign. Wessssiiiiide!

For all of those asking what Carson is going to hunt in LA, word on the street is he's given up hunting and he's going to start looking for silver and gold in the North Pole.

SonIve ripped Cunningham plenty for his coverage deficits, but on the first series, on third down, he shoved Ferguson to the ground after he tried to chip and release. Of course, he was essentially pressing him and not trying to two-hand jam him in the open field.
