Jack Stoll was called for a chop block, while tripping.   These refs do a great job.   They are almost as good as home plate umpires at identifying balls and strikes....   Almost.

Wait, are you suggesting it was a bad call? In my view, it was decidedly a chop block. The fact that Stoll didn't INTEND to block the guy doesn't mean that he did NOT block the guy. He did block him...illegally. Obvious penalty.

Imagine for a moment a batter trying to avoid a pitch coming at him and while getting out of the way, the ball hits his bat. Are you suggesting the umpire should call it a ball because he didn't really mean to swing? It's the same kind of thing.

So why do refs routinely pick up flags when defenders are pushed into QBs well after the play?  Or when gunners are pushed into fair catch returners after the play?  By your logic, those should all be penalties as well.

My god he’s quick isn’t he! That play on STs where he hits the returner right at the point of catch that was impressive.

But he didn’t do that.  He haloed him, just like they do in college, then hit him.  Perfect hit and avoids any defenseless player call.  The one on the sideline where Jones bobbled it was perfect in that he saw the bobble and played through the halo.  The look Jones is giving him as the ball goes out of bounds is priceless.  Mac Jones is one of the best returners I have ever watched.  (UH in college).  Yet Brown got in his head.

Disagree. It's in the rules that if a player is pushed into the QB it's not a penalty. But tripping... the other team isn't impacting your movement. You are. Even if it's by accident.

I’m bummed TBH, cause I was really looking forward to seeing Rodgers in the AFC. This most likely is a career ender if it’s an Achilles tear.

So Gainwell is questionable for Thursdays game with a rib injury.

Arod is already 7 vomits into his next Ayahuasca trip, dont feel sorry for him

Plus hes a giant DBag.  Maybe he has time to call his family now.

I wasn't discussing tripping - he was called for an illegal chop block because he was pushed into the defender that Dickerson was engaged with.

Edit - actually - you're right.  I forgot that he tripped on Kelce, he wasn't pushed.  My bad.

Any shot Colts would trade Taylor to Baltimore?

That doubly sucks because your other QB has a short week against his nightmare

I thought that at first too, but we’re going to crush them now. Hurts doesn’t throw those stupid picks Allen did last night, and we win comfortably.

When it affects the Eagles, that takes precedence

So dumb

It was a bit of a leg whip, but the asterisk comment is laughable because there's no chance that guy is making the tackle even if the blocker just laid down in front of him. Gipson was 2 or 3 steps past him by then.

In fairness outside of last year, cousins has actually played well against the eagles. Then again he’s also played like crap in primetime games.

Because it’s not a penalty when you’re pushed into a quarterback or a punt returner. If another official has a view which shows the player being pushed, the flag should by rule be picked up.

This isn’t even close to the same thing.

For those interested this is the channel for Berman and Bo’s new Eagles podcast:

And Berman’s first column at their new media group,

I never liked Bo's schtick and didn't pay $1 for The Athletic for mostly the same people. But I do understand some people can't get enough coverage.

Yeah - I completely overlooked the fact that Stoll tripped on his own man and wasn't pushed.  I retracted - my bad.

I would start with finding someone besides you to manage your team.

Their new show is going to be 5 days a week. That’s overkill IMO.

Well, it's Wilson and then Tim Boyle on the Practice Squad .... so somebody is getting signed at QB.

-- Flacco was there before with minimal success, so I can't see it being him

-- Ryan is totally washed, the Jets would be dumb to bring him in

-- I doubt Rivers has any interest in a full season despite the Niners thing last year

-- F.U., Brady

-- Joe Douglas was in Philly when both Wentz and Foles were here .... neither would be inspiring, but Foles fits their current need better.

They will likely acquire a retread like Winston or Bridgewater.  Both are less inspiring than Wentz or Foles IMO.
