I got flamed all year last year for bringing this up, and talking about his placement in the off season.  I’m hoping last year wasn’t a fluke for the staff and him.  This isn’t just Hurts.

At least on 2nd down, hurts had the decision there, he chose to keep the ball and run, should’ve given it off to swift.

Hurts is trying to play hero ball and that never works for any player.  But he is put in this position by some horrific play calling and game planning. I can't see this playcalling thing being an issue that is fixed in game.  We will be lucky if it is fixed over the course of the season.  Having 11 days until the Bucs game should hopefully be usefully but if they come out on MNF against Tampa looking as inept on offense then they are screwed. 

I don’t Fing understand why we can’t just run the Fing ball with swift the only thing that has worked tonight.

I hate it, but we need to revert to early 90’s football for now.  Pound it with Penny, screens to Swift.

Honestly, it would be tough to regress.  Even their big play was terrible execution by nearly everyone but Smith.  Swift whiffed his pickup, Hurts grossly underthrew it.  Smith just made a great play to come back.  That should have been a TD with a good throw.

It’s of course chicken and egg.  When the qb plays like crap, there are no good plays to call.  But they are calling plays that are encouraging bad habits and deliberately taking his eyes away from the field that he’s struggling to read.

Barnett lines up in the neutral zone and still gets nowhere near the QB.
