You praised the defense while they were getting schooled by the Vikings getting yards and ending in a TD.  That has nothing to do with Hurts.  The defense's job is to stop the opposition from scoring.  The offense's job is to score points.  Both can be failing in their respective roles.  The last possession by the offense needed to end in points.  It didn't.  They failed.   The last possession by the defense needed to end in a punt, or worst case scenario in a FG.  They gave up a TD.   They failed.   Now it goes back to the O to need to kill clock and score some more points to ice the game.

Hurts can have a bad game while the defense can have one too. It's not mutually exclusive. Not everything has to be viewed through a lens of good/bad Hurts.

Hurts cost us a FG at minimum and has had us sweat out these last 2 games. Maybe it’s BJ’s fault as well, maybe the line, but Hurts has objectively not been good.

D is not having a bad game. 2 no calls have resulted in an additional 14 points. Its not even a question both of those plays were going to be sacks. 

Could have even been turnover strip sacks.
