I’m dumbfounded by our third down play calling, our reaction to seeing blitzes and three-man rushes, and why the hell we never went for 2 tonight.

Your reaction to a win is a Philly thing.

The defense is getting built to derail the Chiefs in a shoot out.  Waves of pass rushers and perimeter CBs that try to make a play

Mahomes is going to slice through the D whether you’ve got practice squad safeties and LBs or reputable starters.  But he can’t shrug off Carter or outrun Sweat.

The problem is that the Cousins and Mac Jones of the world can carve up our defense for 350+ when more serviceable safeties/lbs would shut them down.

What has the defense given up…700+ passing yards in 2 weeks?

Just noticed that Jake Elliott is a captain. Not sure I've ever seen a kicker as a captain. It's probably happened, I've just never noticed it before... and this is his second year as a captain.

Where would you rank him in Eagles kicker history?

Splitting hairs here. It's a concern regardless of the reason. Will they get better in 2 or 3 years? Probably. But I'd like to get another ring this year, and right now, they're looking like a pretty big liability should they need to play again.

Compare them to backup defensive backs on other teams. I know that player development in Philadelphia used to be extremely rare, but that's actually how it is. You might not remember but as loved as Gardner-Johnson was for how he played safety later on in the year, for example, he was actually much worse early in the year outside of his interceptions.

Give them a few games. Not everyone pops in their first game on the field, if they did they'd be Jalen Carter. Lol.

I didn't think it was disgusting, but when they were talking about it, I thought it seemed a tad bit unnecessary, especially with the detail they went in to. I didn't want Carter and this was part of the reason why but I didn't like the piece.

Was hoping for the mock Skol/Foles chant tonight.

Mahomes is going to get his regardless and, win or lose, you’re never not going to let him back into the game.  But the construction of this defense allowed Jones and Cousins to throw their way back into the game when it really shouldn’t have happened.  As intended, the DL got through and ultimately slowed the comeback attempt.  But it feels too easy to get back in games.

I think Jake is neck-neck with Akers, he'll end up the best Eagles kicker in history based on his current trajectory

Curious to see the All22 this week.  Think Jobe played pretty well.  @Iggles_Phan and I were right about Justin Jefferson.  I am sure seeing his results all week in the media was inspiring to him but otherwise the Vikings passing game wasn’t huge.   Have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in our pass rush.  I think the thumb impacted Reddick.  Don’t recall seeing Smith at all.  LBs were much better than expected.  Running against Cunningham is a joke.  How the F is Edmunds better than Brown.

Loved the running game until Penny.  Not sure he is better than Sermon and that isn’t a compliment. Hopefully Scott is okay.  That running game opened up long TDs and should have been TDs.  The short game, especially Goedert was meh.  Expect Johnson to self scout in this mini bye and fix that.

Ten days to get healthy.  Except for Maddox that seems likely.  The cobwebs are gone.

PS like for the refs tonight. Missed some obvious calls.  Needing to reverse the Jefferson fumble was a joke.  I didn’t need replay to call that.  The DPI on Brown’s TD.  I suspect the hold on Penny wasn’t.  Didn’t see any grab.  Pushing with the hand would be legal.  Will slow play that with the coach film when reviewing the All22.

Go Zach Wilson.

No series tonight was more indicative of Hurts' struggles than the one where he took them out of FG range. He was just awful on that drive. You absolutely cannot take a sack there. That could've cost them the game. He's a veteran guy now, he has to know better. That's just pure stupidity. That was more frustrating than not seeing the field well.

I'm not asking them to pop, but letting Cousins carve you up for 360 yards and 4 TDs shouldn't be ignored. We are most certainly not fine there. Like I said earlier, it's just not a sustainable way to play defense.

I'd actually say that's not what happened this week. The backup corners got picked on a bit, but I actually think Morrow played better than expected, and Cunningham wasn't as bad as last week. I think if Maddox stayed up, the game would have looked a bit different. It's just really REALLY hard to be a backup slot corner in the league.

There's a lot you have to understand, it's pretty congested in there, and you have a lot of space to cover. It just takes some time I think to handle things in there.

Remember the stories about how Bradberry got tested out inside? I think that's because they wanted him to be Maddox's primary backup. However, because Bradberry was out, they couldn't slide him inside. Don't be surprised if we see Bradberry inside over keeping Goodrich on the field.

Better duck your head to avoid the fruit thrown at you. I took it all game. Hurts is immune to criticism on here and if you dare go there, you are just like "the banned dudes”

Penny didn’t fumble, so he’s definitely better.

When you're playing Mario Goodrich & Josh Jobe & backup LBs and safeties it makes it tough

Half the team are captains.

I don’t think they want Bradberry to be the primary backup. I think they wanted him to get snaps there to potentially travel with guys like Waller and Kelce.

This is the first sentence of Reub's 10 Observations. Why does this always seem like an issue for the team? Never a complete game with all 3 phases of the game.

The Eagles haven’t played a complete game yet where all phases came together...

Taking away the two bombs to Smith, Hurts threw 21 passes and had 76 yards. YIKES.
