Hurts got out of his funk in the 2nd half. It helped that the ridiculous play-calling went away.

I don’t think they want Bradberry to be the primary backup. I think they wanted him to get snaps there to potentially travel with guys like Waller and Kelce.

That's actually a really good point. I do feel like they like Jobe more than Goodrich if they had to choose though. We'll have to see how that shakes out.

When you're playing Mario Goodrich & Josh Jobe & backup LBs and safeties it makes it tough

It didn’t really take that many injuries to get to these guys.

I think Jake is neck-neck with Akers, he'll end up the best Eagles kicker in history based on his current trajectory

I tend to agree, though it's hard to rank him against some of my favorites. Going all the way back to Tony Franklin. But none of them kicked two 61 yarders lol

Taking away the two bombs to Smith, Hurts threw 21 passes and had 76 yards. YIKES.

Lol dude I got flamed for this all night so good luck. Mind you Smith basically intercepted the first one that was badly under thrown.

Half the team are captains.

I thought they were limited on how many there can be?

Taking away his seven Super Bowls, Tom Brady doesn't have any. YIKES.

Wouldn’t say entirely out of his funk. That 3rd down play you can’t take the sack. On 3rd and 23 either get rid of it by throwing it away or have just take what the defense is giving you.  Not likely getting 23 yards on it. Just take the check down and gain a few yards to make it a more manageable field goal. Granted i think that was a perfect time for a draw

Similar to the 4th down play against the pats, 3x1 iso, flat footed db, but this time Smitty has a go/skinny instead of a slant and bbq'ed the DB.

Absolute clown take right here. Embarrassing.

I think the Eagles have 8 or 9?

The next 4 weeks should be pretty easy.  They keep playing like this and they will drop 1-2 of those games.  But if they sort it out, it would be really nice to be 7-0 headed into the nasty teeth of the schedule.

They’ll at least drop one of those games. Wouldn’t be shocked if that happens next week.

Remember the stories about how Bradberry got tested out inside? I think that's because they wanted him to be Maddox's primary backup. However, because Bradberry was out, they couldn't slide him inside. Don't be surprised if we see Bradberry inside over keeping Goodrich on the field.

Good point.  If Maddox isn’t good to go then Jobe, Bradberry and Slay > Bradberry, Slay and Goodrich.

It’s unfortunate they called that hold on penny. The throw hurts made on that play was an absolute dime to brown.

I never got to see a replay because Prime was buffering and I had to close out and rejoin the game. Legit call?

The offense just isn’t clicking. Timing, playcalling… it’s clear they aren’t all on the same page and my uneducated guess is that Hurts and the OC just aren’t clicking

Said it before the game and I stand by it, ESP is putting out better than usual content. Don't agree with all of the grades but as an overall quick breakdown of the game, solid work for him.

If you call that, you have to call PI the next play. Real bad look for the refs back to back.

It was discussed during the game but Hurts looks off. Even running, he just looks slower. He's not trusting the pocket and not making great throws. Hope they iron out these cobwebs over the next 10 days.

It probably was. But it wasn’t nearly as bad as some of the other holding calls they completely missed all game

Musing for the night…it’s both interesting and frustrating when the coaches are forced into realizing a player lower on the depth chart is better than the starter…when it’s a consensus belief already held by the fans.

There’s more to that though.  There are so many more variables and responsibilities on a given play than fans are aware of…even fans that played football.  We see an inadequate player getting snaps over someone with more appealing upside…and the coaches probably see someone that understands what they need to do within the play and the system.  They are going to move in the right direction, pick up the right guy, and react in the right way…even if they are probably going to lose their matchup to the ire of the fans.

But coaches can also get bogged down in that, as evidenced by 14:1 Gainwell to Swift carry ratio.

I can’t help but wonder if they are doing the same thing at safety.  Is it going to take more injuries before Brown gets a shot?  I realize they feel safe with the current starters, but they aren’t it.  Brown *might* be.  They did the opposite, interestingly, at LB.  Jumped into Dean (which I agreed with) and cut Morrow in favor of Ellis.  I wasn’t a fan of the Morrow acquisition, but he sure looks like the most reliable LB on the team so far.

Called a timeout before a Hail Mary

I've got no issue with it.  You don't get a bonus for taking the timeout with you.  Better to make sure you know what you are doing and have the right guys out there... and that they know what to do to defend the Hail Mary and the crazy pitch play.

The hold on Penny? Yea but completely unnecessary, they had another free rusher who ran into his own player and Hurts broke the pocket immediately after sensing it. Neither one wouldn't have touched him. Swift wasn't only better with the ball in his hands, but much better out of the backfield and in pass protection too.

Curious to see the All22 this week.  Think Jobe played pretty well.  @Iggles_Phan and I were right about Justin Jefferson.  I am sure seeing his results all week in the media was inspiring to him but otherwise the Vikings passing game wasn’t huge.   Have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in our pass rush.  I think the thumb impacted Reddick.  Don’t recall seeing Smith at all.  LBs were much better than expected.  Running against Cunningham is a joke.  How the F is Edmunds better than Brown.

Loved the running game until Penny.  Not sure he is better than Sermon and that isn’t a compliment. Hopefully Scott is okay.  That running game opened up long TDs and should have been TDs.  The short game, especially Goedert was meh.  Expect Johnson to self scout in this mini bye and fix that.

Ten days to get healthy.  Except for Maddox that seems likely.  The cobwebs are gone.

PS like for the refs tonight. Missed some obvious calls.  Needing to reverse the Jefferson fumble was a joke.  I didn’t need replay to call that.  The DPI on Brown’s TD.  I suspect the hold on Penny wasn’t.  Didn’t see any grab.  Pushing with the hand would be legal.  Will slow play that with the coach film when reviewing the All22.

Go Zach Wilson.

Penny's hold absolutely was one.  100%.
