I could be wrong and certainly am no expert… but does Lane look about a quarter of a step slower…

I'll be interested to see what JR has to say, but I feel like the entire offense is off kilter and I think it's because of the coaching.

Having a hard time believing that so many of our best players are suddenly slow and regressing.

Bad play design, bad situational play calling, and confusion can all lead to making great players look worse / slower than normal.

I'd say Swift crushed the Vikings. Hurts hasn't had good games in week 1 and 2

Did the Dline look good because they're actually good or because they were up against backups?

This is why not all underthrows are the same. Hurts does a good job getting this off.

Also, we really need to prioritize getting an RB that can pass protect because that ain't it.

Both. The Vikings OL sucks

Well they're mostly backups

Yep.  "Crushing" would mean that the game was never in doubt.  It was in doubt.   Granted, the play that he's referring to made the score 27-7.  Trouble is... the Eagles didn't keep piling on, in large part, because Hurts was sacked on back to back plays where he couldn't afford to give up ground.  Equally, it falls on the OC, for not going with the draw play that he was so fond of in smaller distance spots earlier in the game.   (How is the draw on 3rd and goal at the 7 a good choice in the first quarter, but a 7 step drop is the play on the edge of FG range on 3rd and 23 in the 4th quarter?!).  They needed those 3 to push the lead to 16 again.

The starters suck too

Last week I guessed the Patriots Score (20).  This Week I get our score (34).   I think we should have won 34-14 but Kurt ran up his Stats as Defense also started prevent in the 4th QTR.  Bottom line, waking up to 2-0 playing on the Thursday after a short week bad weather road game.  I have no complaints.

Did you just wake up and look at the scoreboard?  There's no way you watched the game if you have no complaints and think it was just Kirk running up his stats.

The thing with Hurts I will say and it doesn’t apply to this year or even next, but down the line I don’t think he’s a guy who can carry an offense. If they eventually go the route KC did with Mahomes and give him Skyy Moore/Kadarius Toney type receivers to save money, it will get ugly and they’ll be back in the doldrums.

It’s not necessarily a knock on Hurts because there aren’t many guys outside of Mahomes who can make that work. But they need to continue to keep him surrounded with talent on the outside and a good running game with a good offensive line. That will be a challenge to do a couple years down the line.

That's why WR and TE2 need to be priorities in the draft. They need to be prepared with talent if/when AJ Brown is moved before his contract skyrockets. They need a threat at TE2 if/when Goedert is hurt. Not a guy who is just a decent blocker.

AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are all top players at their positions. However, behind them the cupboard is bare.

They have a mini bye week and they need to figure it out. The situational play calling has been abysmal. It's truly head scratching. There's been way more confusion pre snap than I've seen in some time from this team. Simple plays appear to be giant clusterf$%8s. Hurts looks lost and slow. The OL has no continuity in pass protection. I've never seen Lane look so pedestrian.

They really need to figure this out.

Over/Under Gainwell is the lead back again in week 3?

I’m probably in the minority but OT may be the top priority in the next draft

The start of each season has seen spotty play while finding identity and getting rhythm. I'm ecstatic that they are winning while doing it.

I'd be interested to see Steen at LT and move Mailata to RT sometime down the road. Jurgens needs to be at center, he's not a RG. They can find a RG next year.

I feel like other teams not coached by nick faltered and lost those games.

I do feel like running the ball is what they should have been doing the whole time and then let Jalen start throwing through rpo or play action as he gets warmed up.

However next year I think the line is gonna have to be reshuffled and rebuilt I don't see kelce playing 1 more year

That's the thing. They are 2-0. They've played C level football. The question is, are they a C level team? Can BJ turn it around and learn how to call a game? How long until Hurts breaks out of this funk? Did father time hit the OL or do they just need to mesh?

Some of the most head scratching football I've ever seen from this team and they are 2-0. Having 1 win up on the Vikings in the conference can't be overlooked either.

They are 2-0 against two of the better defensive coaches in the league.  They have another waiting in week 3.

Teams are throwing different stuff at us this year.  We have a first time play caller and a still relatively inexperienced QB, who hasn't seen everything like a Mahomes or Rogers.

We can fortunately lean on the run game while they figure the other stuff out.

Swift dropped his head, which is bad, but that was a really good rush move by Pace. So many LBs try to truck tue RB. Obviously that’s what Swift was thinking.

Random thoughts on the game:

  • I don't see an immediate issue with Brown venting on the sideline - Hurts has been very hot and cold with his play so far, and perhaps the flip side to the argument was Brown holding Hurts accountable for his performance. All depends on how you want to spin it. Don't want  to see it repeated each week tho
  • Hurts has some processing issues still.  Those 2 sacks that took them out of FG range were pretty unforgivable for a franchise QB; same issues as we've seen the last few seasons early on.  But credit to him, he adjusted in the game and was less likely to rush out of the pocket as the game wore on. Still needs to play smarter.  Nice flick of the wrist on the long TD
  • DeAndre Swift is the RB Miles Sanders thinks he is.
  • Maddox is just a sick note waiting to be written
  • Not sure how the Zebras missed the tackling on Sweat for that TD.  Stevie Wonder could see that.
  • The D got through the game, but it was pretty sketchy at times.  But they showed that JJ is all the Vkes have on O for long periods of a game and he won't beat you alone
  • 2-0 is a good place to be, they got through 2 tough games, but need to improve a lot.

It might take the first month or so of the season for it to click with the new coordinators and what the identity on each side of the hall can be. If they can stumble their way to 4-0 throughout that stretch, all the better.

There were some ugly 3rd down calls early but BJ did seem to call a good game later.  They kept doing what worked and didn't force passes.  It's been 2 games so I'm willing to give him more time to get better overall.   I remember thinking similar things about OL early last year too.  It's hard to be too critical they just opened huge holes for 250+ rushing yards.
