With 25 seconds left on 4th down why did we punt directly to the vikings instead of kicking out of bounds

He didn't make it personal. The Colorado State coach took a dumb jab, and sad thing is, it's his team that's gonna pay for it. Gonna be a blowout, and I hope Deion goes over to him with the hat and shades on. Most fun I've had watching college football in years.

I think it's fun.  Strong personalities always get some negative feedback.  BTW, the Colorado State coach took a back hand swipe at Deion's mom and how she raised him.  Dbag move.   Now the Oregon Coach is saying stuff as well.  College football is so fing boring, having Colorado be fun even for a few games is good.  Colorado has been so bad for so long, let them have some cake.

I must have completely missed it last night and was wondering why he wasn't out there.  What happened to Jordan Davis?

He dinged his ankle, so lost a few snaps but returned to the game.

Davis is one of the big reasons why the Vikes couldn't run the ball.

I agree, and he's only 24.

With RBs, the age piece is less important than the mileage/usage.   A 26 year old that has had limited touches is 'fresher' than a 24 year old with a ton of touches to his career.  Personally, I wouldn't touch a RB like we added Murray back in the day.  It wasn't his age, it was the mileage.  The Cowboys ran him into the ground his final year with them.  He had over 450 touches at 26.  And what we saw was extremely limited productivity on fewer carries the following year... a bit of a bounce back the next year, and then a complete fall off the table and out of the league after that.    Jamal Anderson had over 400 carries one year for great production... then blew out the ACL in week 2 the next year and was never the same.  I'd be hard pressed to believe that the wear and tear the year before didn't contribute to that injury.

So, with that built in... the Eagles need to pace Swift.  There's no reason to ride him that hard week in and week out.  They can't do it, at least not if they intend to bring him back.  If they don't... then I suppose they could just ride him as long as they can, but I'm opposed to that in principle because it's really a crappy way to treat a player... as completely disposable.

A combination of our Special Teams Coordinator is the worst in the league and the punter is so bad who is to say that the plan wasn't to kick it out of bounds.

People have been hard on Brian Johnson, but I’m more disappointed with Sirianni overall than Johnson.

The team has come into the first two games with game plans that flat out have not worked. That’s on Sirianni, he designs the game plans.

In game 1 he made that idiotic decision to go for it on 4th down rather than punt and pin them deep and make them go 85 yards with no timeouts. Last night he didn’t go for 2 at the end of the game, which was idiotic. The decisions just seem absent minded this season.

And I’m not sure if it’s more him or Howie, but he’s the head coach so until we get info proven otherwise, I have to put it on him… the fact that Gainwell came into the season as RB1 is absurd. It makes me wonder just what in the hell Sirianni is watching and makes me question their talent evaluation. The Eagles have these stubborn hang ups with certain guys. They love Barnett, they love Gainwell, they love Siposs. Enough already.

JD is playing a lot lower and with better hand usage/arm extension - not as much leaning on the OLmen, basically more active throughout his reps.

No definitely can't be the 20+ carry bellcow like he was last night. I think a mix of him, Penny, and Gainwell is a nice 3-headed monster. And give one of them a rest for the 2 Giants games so B Scott can play.

looks like he’ll miss a few weeks.

That's going to be career for him.  Eagles can no longer depend on him to stay healthy.

Sounds like more than a few

Maddox is a waste of a roster spot

What’s the earliest round you’d draft a slot CB - Kalen King, please.

Did you just wake up and look at the scoreboard?  There's no way you watched the game if you have no complaints and think it was just Kirk running up his stats.

I don't overanalyze and nitpick everything early in the season.  Nobody is saying their perfect. It's a process, we have new pieces and coaching.  I don't know why people think it's supposed to be a well oil machine with two new Coordinators.  All I know is Jake is Money and had he longest kick since Super Bowl LII Run.  D'Andre had the best Eagles Rushing performance in a Decade.   The Defense forced 3 Turnovers and had Minny playing catch up most of the game.  Jalen had a 3 TD performance.  Devonta Exploded and the Eagles are 2-0 with 11 days till the next game.  Like I said. I have no complaints.

They couldn’t depend on him when he got his contract. He’s always been injury prone.

That's probably why we signed Rodgers

It might take the first month or so of the season for it to click with the new coordinators and what the identity on each side of the hall can be. If they can stumble their way to 4-0 throughout that stretch, all the better.

It's very possible that they can get to 6-0 before they play Miami.  They got TB, Washington, LAR and NYJ.  All winnable games even with them playing sub par.

I thought maybe if Rodgers was playing the Jets game might be a loss but don't need to worry about that.

If they are still kinda struggling when they play Miami then that will be an L.  Hopefully they are improved by then.

I’m guessing maddox if he’s gone next year is a post June 1st cut. It’s 7.7 mil in dead money and 2.3 mil saving if he’s a pre june 1st cut. Post June 1st it’s 2.6 mil in dead money and 7.5 mil cap savings.

If Watkins misses extended time any interest in Landry?

Nick explained it once back when he was the playcaller that it's a collaboration for creating the plan but then the play caller will pick the plays during the game

I am confused what they saw before that made them have Gainwell come out as RB1. Swift is clearly the best we have

They do tend to get stubborn on certain players

No updates on injuries from last night?  Particularly Maddox - I wanna know if he's just out for the remainder of this season, or if he'll need to retire altogether so we can move the F on.

Twitter saying the Maddox injury ain’t gonna be good

it’s Twitter but I bet this one sticks
