At 2-0 I have a lot more concern about the defense right now than the offense.  Even being down three starters, there has to be a point where you force the other team(s) to kick FGs.  So far after two games the Eagles have allowed 7 TDs, and I'm not sure if the opponents have even tried a FG yet ....

I’m glad AJ had that little tantrum on the sideline he was getting open all night. The Eagles should have won by at least 21 tonight but Hurts is regressing. This one read then run offense isn’t fooling anyone. Brian Johnson isn’t do him any favors either so Eagles need to use this time off and figure this out cause this will turn into a train wreck quick.

I believe we have much too small a sample size to come to a definitive conclusion that Hurts is regressing. There are important mitigating factors, the largest being the change from Steichen to Johnson at Offensive Coordinator.  That coupled with no live snaps in Preseason could be more than enough reason for this (temporary) regression.  The 10-day mini-Bye comes at a very good time for making adjustments in both Johnson's approach and Hurts' performance.

McFadden was good.  He just played with mostly bad teams.  The Eagles also had Mark Moseley for one season before he went to the Skins.

Moseley was incredibly bad that year. I remember him missing a chip shot (27 yarder, I think) against the Falcons on the last play of the game at Franklin Field that cost the Eagles a victory. The game ended in an ugly tie.

Moseley ended up going to the Oilers for a couple years where he wasn't particularly good either. Then he went to Washington and suddenly was a top flight kicker for a decade.

Hey!  I had to watch Mills and Agholor suck for 5 years!  You must be a newbie to this.

The organization is not always going to evaluate talent and performance the same way fans are.  Gainwell was the incumbent RB with Sanders gone, and Sirianni has said more than once that he will have a greatly increased role this season.  His usage in Week 1 shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.

Performance and health will dictate snaps in the RBBC room.  So far, Swift has earned the bulk of the work for Week 3 as the lead RB -- we will see if that's how it will play out.

Mills is still in the league 3 years later so he wasn't as bad as people think

There are people who were blatantly wrong about Hurts who see this as an opportunity to say something bad about him

Yes. Baker has played slot before for the cardinals (earlier in his career more than now but even last year had him play some slot). And he’s a safety. If we really want to dive into it, he’s also lined up for some plays at linebacker for the Cardinals.

Then it is up to Howie to decide whether the economics of Baker fit the Eagles Cap situation ... and whether the Cardinals are willing trade partners. Here is what his current contract lists as on OTC.  We would get the Base Salary and Bonuses ... Essentially $14 million per year.  Given what CJGJ signed for with Detroit, that seems a bit rich.

Why am i under the impression that Budda wouldn't/couldn't be traded after redoing his contract?

Tony Franklin and that's only because he didn't wear a shoe on his kicking foot.

In that regard, let's not forget Paul McFadden...

It’s why i said it was unrealistic in my post talking about baker when you asked what would i give up and who. Think capital and contract are too costly. And they drafted brown so I’m expecting them to want him and Blankenship being the starters in 2024

Why would the cardinals want to trade him? They are only 0-1 and could have easily won last week? Am I missing something?

Mike Florio was on Dan Patrick Show earlier complaining about the QB sneak/push. It looked like they didn’t even need to push Hurts on those plays last night as he got the yardage on his own easily.

I just don’t understand people acting like the Eagles are the only team allowed to use this play. Everyone is free to use it. I read that QB sneaks last Sunday went 0-4 so there is a skill and personnel aspect that comes into it that the Eagles have perfected. And it involves a QB with leg drive that can squat 600 lbs and a good offensive line.

He'll likely soon want to be as far away from that F'n weirdo Gannon as possible

They are in complete tank mode...

Yeah Greenberg was whining about it on Get Up this morning too.  They hate us cause they ain't us

It's...week 2.

For real.  I will never understand early season conclusions (except for teams like the Jets who lose the starting QB).  No SB champ looks great the whole year.  NE started 0-2 once…the Chiefs lost to Indy last year.

All teams are a work in progress.  I’d rather get early wins while still working on improving, than peak too early and be presented with Fool’s Gold.  Dallas is full of themselves right now.  I hope that continues for a couple more weeks for them…they will come crashing down

Playing safety.   I'd love to have him at safety right now.

The redo was only a 300k signing bonus and then bunch of added incentives, so it’d have minimal impact on their ability to move him

Also baker wanted to be traded earlier in the offseason. He settled for being paid more. I’m guessing at the deadline when the cardinals are likely 0-2 win team they’d move him but it’s not going to be cheap. I don’t see the eagles making that move as they like Reed and brown long term and the price is gonna be too rich.

I watched the coms/cards game on Sunday and I didn't see a team that looked like they were tanking.

I'd be more concerned about Hurts regressing if teams were daring him to throw it with their schemes like they were early last year. The Vikings essentially sold out their run D and short pass game in order to try and take away the deep shot.

Did they have that fire in their gut?  DID THEY?!?

AJ was being a little diva-ish but I just think he was letting Jalen know.  "I'm Here Bro".  The thing is the way our Offense is set up there's a Different super star every week.  Some games it will be the passing game, some the running game.  But in this case Devonta did do well on top of our Running game.  Then Jefferson was doing good on the other end.  Maybe AJ was just frustrated with his numbers.  This was just a small little spat.  I expect AJ to go off soon, probably against Tampa.

As Eagles fans we appreciate him but i feel like casual fans and outside of Philly he’s really underappreicated for how good he is
