It is effective.  It is reliable.   It is also cringe worthy for me, as all I see are the defenders launching themselves at Hurts' head.

Yup. That said don’t see swift getting 20 touches routinely. I don’t think he’s durable enough for it. I’m guessing he’s usually more around 13-15

I think we see more balance going forward. Like 40/40/20 among Swift/Gainwell/Scott. I don't think they use Penny unless someone is down.

That whole DT unit is really something to watch. It’s revitalized Cox and turned the clock back five years for him. They’re all feeding off each other.

You can only double one of them, and the other one will feast. Early on when they doubled Cox, Davis broke through and crushed Cousins and caused an incompletion. And it's freeing up Sweat to do damage. We need Reddick, Graham and Smith to join the fun.

Yeah....and did you see Kelce's left arm extended below him in the pile and wedged between two players? That's a good way to break it.

For the 1st time since 2009, I had to miss watching part of an Eagles game live due to an unavoidable work commitment. I watched the entire 1st half and some highlights of the 2nd -- will watch the 2nd half later today. All in all, I guess my take is I'm happy to be 2-0 despite not playing anywhere close to our best. This mini-bye will be critical to adapting to what appears to be new offensive and defensive approaches.

1. Last year, guys were focused on stopping our run game and making Hurts beat them with his arm, especially in the second half of the year. 2 games in and that has completely flipped. Guys are playing back, taking away the big play, and trying to force Hurts and Johnson to be patient. Finally in the 2nd quarter last night, we adapted and ran it down their throats. From 16 called runs by the backs in week 1 to this...nice adjustment. Doubling up the time of possession and just beating teams into submission -- do it until they stop it.

The other adjustment that BB and Flores made to their respective game plans was to have their DEs commit to the Hurts running option rather than either the RB running or the Hurts passing option.  As a result Hurts had nowhere to run.  Interestingly, that commitment by the DE taking away Hurts' run option also meant Hurts had much less time to pass on RPO plays because the DE was right on top of him.

I haven't heard Smith's name once. Has he even been out there?

Yeah it’s probably something similar to that. I don’t think penny is fully healed or just not what he was prior to his injury

Man, ESPN and other national media are really trying to blow up with AJ Brown thing. It didn't look that crazy to me...

He was pretty biased in his views calling it an ugly play lol

Edit: wrong post quoted

They thrive on drama.  That's why all the pre-game shows now are people yelling loudly about anything and everything.  Unwatchable.

2. Hurts needs to learn to take the check downs. It really wasn't a part of the offense last year, and running backs weren't part of the passing game. We are going to see 3 man rushes a lot and guys daring Hurts to be patient. The bad habit of running out of a clean pocket is coming back because he sees nothing down the field and the internal clock tells him to bail. Johnson needs to revamp and run more underneath routes.

It was interesting to see the League-wide graphic on how deep passes are becoming less and less of a typical team's performance.  Because of having both Smith and Brown, I think Johnson's Offensive game plan did not follow that League-wide pattern.  There really weren't available targets for Hurts in the "short middle of the field" on a lot of plays.  Johnson needs to make an adjustment there.

5. Nicholas Morrow needs to play.

6. Jake Elliott is the man.

Agreed 100% on both those takes.

With Morrow back on the 53, I feel better about LB. We need the secondary to heal up, but assuming Maddox is gone, I think Jobe gets elevated. But I think the issues on both sides of the ball are mainly scheme related. The league had an entire offseason and has adjusted -- the coaches need to use the next 10 days to adjust back.

I think the NFL folks were trying for a bit of humor on that one.  Where disd the quote ""The Eagles QB Sneak is ruining the league” come from?

Speaking of unwatchable....Undisputed has become even more trash if possible because of Skip and Irving fawning over the Cowboys non stop.

Hunch he won't be out for the season.

I don't like that. It worked but it's looking ahead instead of playing your best players for the current week. Could have easily backfired

What don't you like about Carter and Davis playing together?

All over Twitter last night people were complaining about it. Also i think this offseason Peter king was very much for taking it out of the game

I'm hoping that is the case.  I still have high hopes for Penny with this O-Line.

We had two down yesterday and they still didn't really use Penny. Not sure what their plan is for him besides nothing.

I agree that has been the scene, but it would be different if an NFL person was making that quote.

My own sense of the three QB sneaks the Eagles ran last night was that there was no tush push at all on any of them.  That may have been conscious on the part of the Eagles ... making it an unassailable straightforward play being well executed.

Penny looked real slow to me

Lol I quoted the wrong post. Meant to click the one above that

Also, I am 100% convinced they held Swift back in NE to save him for this game on a short week.

He quoted the wrong message.  He doesn't like the idea that they withheld Swift against the Pats, if they did do it.   (It was the post just above the one he quoted from vikas.)

Sean Payton was also batching about it throughout the offseason.
