I haven't heard Smith's name once. Has he even been out there?

6 snaps on Defense and 12 snaps on Special Teams according to the Gamebook just posted on the Eagles website

He quoted the wrong message.  He doesn't like the idea that they withheld Swift against the Pats, if they did do it.   (It was the post just above the one he quoted from vikas.)

Thanks for that clarification.

All over Twitter last night people were complaining about it. Also i think this offseason Peter king was very much for taking it out of the game

They can all suck suck suck it.  It will be here ALL YEAR LONG lol.

Sean Payton was also batching about it throughout the offseason.

Has he tried it yet? I didn't watch them week 1

The other adjustment that BB and Flores made to their respective game plans was to have their DEs commit to the Hurts running option rather than either the RB running or the Hurts passing option.  As a result Hurts had nowhere to run.  Interestingly, that commitment by the DE taking away Hurts' run option also meant Hurts had much less time to pass on RPO plays because the DE was right on top of him.

The deep zones, the mixture of blitz and mush rush, etc. DCs looked at film and decided to take away the deep throw and Hurts running - and they want to take shots at Hurts.

Johnson is trying to adjust by making Hurts more of a traditional drop back passer, but this will take time, phasing out the RO means developing RB screens, more underneath crossing routes, etc. That's a big transformation. The discovery of a running game will make it easier, you can burn blitzers and 3 man fronts.

Hurts showed last season he can throw from the pocket, it's just that it wasn't his staple play and teams didn't defend him primarily as a passer.

Now that he's proven he can hit the deep ball, they want to force him to be a "caretaker" QB, but no reason he won't adjust, and learn to dink and dunk off the run game.

You have a couple 8 minute 80 yard drives and defenses tend to go soft as they wear down. And play action only works after a team is forced to respect the run.

The one bit of "humor" that was in the game was that Barnett was only in for 14 snaps and he still was able to perform a massive "what were you thinking?" penalty.

Blueprint fix we experienced yesterday... run them right out of that ish.

WTH is going on with these injuries....holy crap.

But why couldn't a CB come back late in the season from a torn pec? I can see a OL/DL.

Maddox is a small, slight, fast guy.  The Eagles took him, in part, because of a huge Combine performance.  Good player when he's in there, but it's not surprising he gets beat up ... often

Agreed.  Which is why I'm still hoping for a return to productive running by Penny.  He should be able to feast in that particular blueprint.

Did anyone happen to notice/hear the "Woody Hayes" comment by the Prime broadcast team last night?

Kind of need that muscle.

My bad. Thanks to seeing this graphic Barnett is 96.  The Lined Up In The Neutral Zone Offsides was on 97 ... Kentavius Street.

Yeah... no doubt with more carries he would've sprung a long one. Seems like the Eagles don't quite trust him yet.

I think the NFL folks were trying for a bit of humor on that one.  Where disd the quote ""The Eagles QB Sneak is ruining the league” come from?

San Fran fans (and players, probably)

Once we adjusted to start pounding the ball, we went:

TD on a 16 play drive, where we ran it 13 times

FG at the end of the half

TD on a short field thanks to Sweat

TD on bomb to Smith

Punt, but held back by penalties on Dickerson and Swift

Punt, held back from a TD by penalty on Penny, missed DPI, and 2 bad sacks by Hurts

TD on 8 play drive where we ran it 7 times

Punt when we were just trying to burn clock

Basically, we were stopped twice, and both times we stopped ourselves. And yet the whole world is crapping on us this morning. I kinda like being doubted and hated again. If defenses are going to play us this way, pound the rock right at them and then take play action deep shots.

I agree that has been the scene, but it would be different if an NFL person was making that quote.

My own sense of the three QB sneaks the Eagles ran last night was that there was no tush push at all on any of them.  That may have been conscious on the part of the Eagles ... making it an unassailable straightforward play being well executed.

I mentioned this earlier, but Al Michaels said something along the lines of it being an ugly play. Multiple times.

That play requires a lot more skill and the right personnel than people think. Eagles ran it a few times with Minshew last season and were not as successful. I think there were even a few teams that tried it last year and weren't successful either.

The players that line up behind Hurts don't even push him, they are solely focused on looking for the ball to pop out and jump on it. Plus it frees them up more for any possible wrinkles they want to use. I know people love to hear the stat of Hurts squatting 700+ lbs, but that's what allows him to be so successful with that kind of play.

Fielding a competent nickel corner will be the biggest problem we face going forward.

It's almost like we found out last night that our depth at the position isn't up to task.

Morrow did well to come in and play 95% of snaps. He made some good plays. Evans too

Yeah, and what has Johnson shown you in terms of adapting or offensive creativity? Nothing. He kept running the ball....great. Smith was open deep a few times. Great. Sustainability past running the ball? Nothing. Hurts is reverting backwards. That's also on the OC.They are winning because of the talent they have (and some luck like Jefferson fumbling it out) and honestly being hindered by him. This "they will be fine it's early mentality" is great but what we are seeing doesn't show that yet.

It does exactly show that mentality. It's week 2 going into a mini-bye. And we get...Baker Mayfield next. They'll be fine.

AJ was being a little diva-ish but I just think he was letting Jalen know.  "I'm Here Bro".  The thing is the way our Offense is set up there's a Different super star every week.  Some games it will be the passing game, some the running game.  But in this case Devonta did do well on top of our Running game.  Then Jefferson was doing good on the other end.  Maybe AJ was just frustrated with his numbers.  This was just a small little spat.  I expect AJ to go off soon, probably against Tampa.

AJ and Jalen are boys. Not worried about it in the least.

He’s good at what he does

I have a confession to make.... Kirk Cousins was my Captain in my DFS Showdown last night.

Mock me, I don't care.  I ended up:
