Sorry. They are not winning 11 games with that brutal schedule and no Chris Jones til who knows when. Means they have to go 11-5 rest of the way. Kelce is uncertain for next week. Bone bruises can take a bit to fully heal. Came into stadium limping in badly. Got treatment and looked a little better on sidelines. Could barely put weight on it. They have a lot of question marks right now.

Probably could have had 2 INTs if was paying attention.

He will get reemed today for his crap tackling on the Addison TD

He deserves to be reemed for not making the Addison tackle.  He does look like he can play the position.

You are looking good for now. But let's see if he plays much and even effects the game. I imagine they will be very careful there. He has a past with bone bruises and ended up needing microfracture surgery for it in 2013 and was out for the season. Still believe Jags beat them this weekend regardless and not reaching 11 wins this year.

What's frustrating is that this type of defense is where Goedert should FEAST, but he has been non-existent. Just run 8 yards, settle into a soft spot and catch. Over and over again. People are betting Hurts won't be patient and take the TE/RB underneath throws. He needs to (and Johnson needs to call them).

100% agree

Philly are the ones full of scumbags though

Vikings fans were sending him DMs last night after the game, calling him racial slurs and saying all sorts of other unpleasant things.

Some Viking fans DM'ed him calling him the N word and other stuff because he fumbled the ball and they lost. Mattison put it all out there on his Instagram.

AJ was being a little diva-ish but I just think he was letting Jalen know.  "I'm Here Bro".  The thing is the way our Offense is set up there's a Different super star every week.  Some games it will be the passing game, some the running game.  But in this case Devonta did do well on top of our Running game.  Then Jefferson was doing good on the other end.  Maybe AJ was just frustrated with his numbers.  This was just a small little spat.  I expect AJ to go off soon, probably against Tampa.

You can also clearly see Hurts saying " I got you" numerous times. I think this has been blown way out of proportion.

That's a tall order...

But it reminds me of the Vince Wilfork, who was not known for his ability to penetrate the backfield, but he could hold the POA and eat up blockers, allowing LBs, Tedy Bruschi and Junior Seau to flow freely to the ball and cut down running backs trying to gain access to the defense's inner defenses.    To another extent, it might fit along with Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa clogging up the path for the opposition for the 2000 Ravens, and once again allowing Ray Lewis to freely move behind the line of attack to flow to where the infiltration would be most likely to occur.    And to an extent, I think that's what this team is trying to do with Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, though both are more adept than the previously mentioned DL at penetrating, they can also be great at eating up blockers, keeping the smaller, more nimble Nakobe Dean to flow to the ball and stop the invasion.

That was the play where the LT went off injured on the cart.

Correct.   I was far less upset with the completion than I was for allowing it to turn into a TD.  Gotta make that tackle and maybe you can hold on for a FG attempt instead.

At first I thought this was something getting blamed on Eagles Fans.  Then I thought whoever is yelling out the N word on the sidelines probably won't last very long in Philly

I lived in Minneapolis for a couple of winters.

Not much diversity up there outside of the twin cities.

Someone with the All-22 access can probably confirm this, but the feeling is that teams are playing more zone in an effort to limit Hurts' running.  And so the routes are a lot more 'check-up' types, curls, button-hooks etc.   I don't think a pass was thrown to Goedert on the move.  He got the screen, so he's basically stationary... he got a couple short curls where he was actually moving towards the LOS when he caught the ball.

The coaching staff needs to work on getting more creative with the routes to create space in those zones.

All 22 is not up yet, but i did rewatch the condensed game. (TV not good enough for that Penny hold call but the coaches line angle film should be).  Flores spied Hurts when he wasn’t blitzing him.  That "dropped eight is a misnomer.  The LB would play just deep enough so the free OL, usually Jurgens, couldn’t engage because it would be an illegal man downfield.  When Hurts started to move, the LB would charge like a delayed blitz.

Hurts didn’t have a great game for 78% completions but it wasn’t as bad as it seemed. That interception was a bad decision and the wow catch by Smith was a tad under thrown.   I think the Vikings were playing a lot of man match out of their zones but hard to tell with just the TV feed.

The second look really revealed the chess game going on between Flores and Johnson last night. Johnson never truly dealt with the spy.  The All22 will reveal where the Ss were.  Because we never saw much over the middle to impact that LB spy, I suspect they were in single high most of the night.

Who knew that reading comments from random low-lifes without accountability or identification could lead to getting insulted?

And they made a molten image, and set it up on high,
And there it stands unto this day to witness if I lie.
It stands in the Comitium, plain for all folk to see;
Horatius in his harness, halting upon one knee:
And underneath is written, in letters all of gold,
How valiantly he kept the bridge in the brave days of old.

Philly Special

I would like to take this time to reminisce some of the things about Minnesota (Minneapolis) while I was working there pre pandemic

  • The second someone catches on that you don't have that stupid Minnesota accent they tell you how they are Minnesota Nice there.
  • That stupid accent, don'tcha know?
  • In the winter, the highway snow never melts along the side.  So you have a beautiful monochrome drive of black piles of snow and grey skies
  • The way the steering wheel burns your skin at -16 degrees
  • An Applebees every 3 blocks (what is this, NEPA?), making it really confusing when one of the locals wants to do lunch there
  • Traversing Minneapolis between Late Sept-April makes you feel like a human hamster

Once we adjusted to start pounding the ball, we went:

TD on a 16 play drive, where we ran it 13 times

FG at the end of the half

TD on a short field thanks to Sweat

TD on bomb to Smith

Punt, but held back by penalties on Dickerson and Swift

Punt, held back from a TD by penalty on Penny, missed DPI, and 2 bad sacks by Hurts

TD on 8 play drive where we ran it 7 times

Punt when we were just trying to burn clock

Basically, we were stopped twice, and both times we stopped ourselves. And yet the whole world is crapping on us this morning. I kinda like being doubted and hated again. If defenses are going to play us this way, pound the rock right at them and then take play action deep shots.

Play action deep actually works when you run the ball a bunch.  Almost as if they bite on the fake handoff!

I used to laugh when Nabby ran it but no one would react because we were throwing every down.

Ugh... That throw!   I still have no idea what was wrong with his mechanics on that.  Just looked all kinds of awkward.  I'm thinking he was trying not to throw it, as he started his motion... or was trying to rethink it as it was coming out.   His knees almost seemed to buckle as he was going through the delivery.   Just looked so bizarre.
