Right, which is what I said here...

Yes.  And that's exactly what I said before that.  Drew the safety vs cleared out the safety.   It's a semantic discussion.  The issue is where the safety went and where the ball went.  In this case, the safety and the ball went to the same place.  That's bad.   Moving on now.  Phillies start in half an hour.

Sounds like PS options though.  If he was going on to a roster, it wouldn't matter.

Not that I care much about Evans, but isn’t that tampering? He’s on the practice squad, so if another team wanted to sign him they are free to do so. Sounds like he knows he can get on another practice squad with a better path to playing.

How is it tampering? Players on a PS are free agents.

That’s the interesting part. He sat out of football for months and he’s on a team that has 3 ILB’s and a Ben Vansomething or other. How is another teams PS going to be better and how does he have so many options?

They mean two different things because the movement of the defender is in opposite directions. If someone incorrectly said Smitty ran an out route vs a dig route, you wouldn't frame that as a semantics issue.

In theory Evans could have interest to go to a teams 53 but they don't want to commit 3 weeks to him which is required to sign off 53.  Or maybe they offered PS with a call up expected

Are they? He was under contract with the Eagles, participating in practice, sitting in on meetings, and is part of the team.

I understand they can be signed to another teams 53, but the player has a choice to remain on the PS with their current team or sign to the 53 of the other team.

It doesn’t seem like he would ask for his release if he was going to sign to another teams 53. I would think it’s tampering if another team was talking with him about leaving the Eagles to sign to their practice squad.

I guess Cunningham wasn’t hurt too badly.

Since they can talk to agents about signing to 53 I don't think it's possible for there to be tampering.  The team could talk and say we might interested in the 53 soon but we'd definitely sign to PS. I don't think that would be tampering

Ricks won vs Jefferson. One snap, but whatever.

I hear you, but Smith's route drew the safety to him... making a void for Brown to run into.

Ultimately, I have no skin in this discussion.  My biggest concern on that play is just what was happening with Hurts mechanics on that throw.  It just looked funky, and that's separate from the read, the decision or the way Brown ran his route.

I’m not going to pretend that I know what you are referring to as far as his mechanics on that one play.  I am going to assume that it was just one play that you felt his mechanics looked off… unless you can refer to others.

I’m not sure if it was his read, or a poorly run route that caused the INT, either way it was a bad play.  I personally was more concerned about a couple of the sacks he took.

I still feel he played a fairly decent game overall, with all things considered.  Certainly not close to his best.  I will, however, come far short of saying he’s reverted to 2021 like some others have inferred.

I expect he'll be getting slot work in practice now

With deep, bottom of the roster guys it’s just as important to appease the agent as it is to help your team. The Eagles are doing him a solid, and this will help them in the future.

Played behind a terrible OL with a terrible QB and awful head coaches for a garbage franchise. Best player I ever saw. LOVED watching him play.

I lived in Chicago for a decade and listened to a lot of Chicago sports radio. Sanders got a lot of criticism for a playoff game in which he ran for -1 yards. I remember listening to some of the Bears players (retired at that point) talking about how the only player the focused on was Sanders and that he had no help and that he came close to breaking some tackles and going long. Even though he had what was statistically a terrible game, his opponents had absolute respect... if not awe for him.

Someone earlier mentioned adding Josiah Scott to the practice squad. Looks like he's already on the Steelers PS.

I have to believe a 4th TE gets cut soon.

What a picture.  As he's blowing kisses to the crowd after scoring his bomb of a TD catch.
