On injuries...

It seems that Jordan Davis, Fletcher Cox, Gainwell, Bradberry, Blankenship, and Cunningham (all the guys that have been dinged up through 2 weeks) are going to be fine after the mini bye.

Maddox and Dean are the problems.

I'm still high on Dean...but he's a player made great by his instincts at a read and react position who never saw the field as a rookie, was injured through camp, and is in a bit of a different defense this year.  Cue the "basically a rookie" talk.  I think he was always going to settle in next year more so than this year.  (The new slate of LBs Thursday were actually better than the Sunday look).  So this injury basically cements that.  Sounds like he'll be back and OK eventually...technically only has to miss 3 more games.  But I'm not sure we should expect to get much this year.

Maddox?  Regrettably, we know the routine here.  Best wishes on a speedy recovery, but he wasn't even playing at a very high level through 5 quarters.  Sounds like all the snaps are going to go to Jobe, Goodrich, etc....but the only 2 guys that I think have the upside to play at a high level are Ricks and Ringo.  The coaches obviously don't think they are ready, but we've been torched for 700 yards in the air through 2 weeks.  Why not throw in slightly less experience players with more upside?

So he won more snaps in coverage than Jobe and Goodrich last night.

Hey! So did Cunningham.

Howie was right, Jefferson sucks

A congratulations is in order for Aaron nola, he didn’t give up a homerun tonight. However, only pitched 4.2 innings.

Not that I care much about Evans, but isn’t that tampering? He’s on the practice squad, so if another team wanted to sign him they are free to do so. Sounds like he knows he can get on another practice squad with a better path to playing.

Players on practice squads are technically free agents, so they can talk to anyone they'd like.

We need jake Taylor to go to his apartment and tell him if he doesn’t figure his crap out he’s no good to him nor the team.

How’d that get called safe?

Ringo definitely isn’t ready. He was one of the most raw players coming out in the draft. I’m not even sure if he’s turned 21 years old yet. And in any case, he doesn’t have the skill set to play in the slot. He’s definitely a "boundary corner only” type of player with his hips.

Worse than a troll.  The only reason RTK comes to the EMB is to get attention.

How many of these are bad reps by Swift?

Fewer than Alex Levy would have you believe.

Almost all of them were not good.

There is a difference between "not good" and "bad"

How many were bad enough that you think it’s a real problem?

cant throw strikes

Would be awesome if our pitchers could throw Fing strikes

Exactly. I’m watching that and I see one true loss by Swift, and it was a heckuva rush by Pace Jr. The rest (the play-action was iffy) I thought he picked up the right guy and lost slowly.

Probably gonna get walked off cause Alvarado has been bad lately. And really it should’ve been Alvarado and then kimbrel. When you mess with what you normally do it tends to backfire. alvarado hasn’t been closer in a while

That was a hell of a play by Turner.

sure was
