Rattler has been playing well since end of last year .

If Alabama and Georgia both lose, who are the leading 4 playoff teams?

michigan

Texas

FSU

…Ohio State?

That list looks weird as hell. It’s 1998  all over again

Southern Cal

SC missing their 2 starting OTs

Ohio State is 'struggling' vs WKU right now.

We have entered a strange timeline: the SEC sucks a** while the PAC-12 is the best conference in the country.

SEC doesn't have a QB that will be drafted in first two days

They weren’t exactly apples to apples. Bonds was an 8 time gold Glover who also was a top 5 base runner in his prime. Griffey had 24 SB as his career high, but most seasons were at best in the teens. Between ‘86 and ‘98 Bonds had 1 season under 29. He was a 40/40 guy with 500 career SB’s even though he slowed down on that when he got big and old. Bonds was also a much more patient hitter. Barry never struck out 100 times in a season after his rookie year despite being a power hitter (averaged 37 HR per 162 games from ‘87-‘99), while Griffey was routinely striking out 100-130 times a season in his prime. This is where Barry built his crazy walk statistic, he was putting out .450 OBP’s while Griffey’s career higher was .408 even with those BA advantages, which he only broke .400 OBP twice. And this was all before ‘00 when Bonds’ hat size started ballooning.

The dude’s actions ruined baseball for all of the Aughts, but the difference between the two isn’t as simple as total HR counts or BA:

Ken Griffey’s best WAR seasons:

9.6 1997

9.1 1997

8.8 1993

7.1 1991

All others under 7.0

Barry Bonds best WAR seasons pre-2000:

9.9 1993

9.7 1996

9.7 1990

9.0 1992

8.2 1997

8.1 1998

8.0 1989

8.0 1991

7.5 1995

This is how Barry had ALREADY tied the alltime career MVP total before he started taking steroids (we assume before he started anyway).
Griffey was never the better player, he just had way better PR.

Nah.  Griffey was better, because defense counts as part of the equation.  Griffey was a better defensive player than Bonds, and its not even close.

I do love the 'WAR' statistic.  What a meaningless arbitrary number that is tossed around like it has meaning.

How can I say that a 10 time Gold Glove winner is head and shoulders above an 8 time Gold Glove winner defensively?  Simple... Griffey earned his Gold Gloves in CF, where teams have ALWAYS placed their best defensive outfielder.   Meanwhile, Barry won his Gold Gloves primarily playing LF... you know, the position you put a player in when they have too valuable a bat to leave on the bench, but really isn't good enough defensively to play elsewhere.  LF is where you hide players.  Now, Barry was a very good defensive LF.  But, he wasn't even the best defensive OF on his team in Pittsburgh, that was Andy Van Slyke, which is why Bonds played LF, while Van Slyke played CF.  And when the time came to move Bonilla to the outfield... they moved Bonilla to RF (where you typically put your second best OF), and they left Bonds in LF.  (the same position manned by the likes of Greg Luzinski, Manny Ramerez, Pat Burrell, Rhys Hoskins and even today... Kyle Schwarber.   Granted, Bonds played it much much better than they did... but if he were really a great defensive OF... he'd have been in CF or at least RF.)

And then, Bonds (and many others) ruined baseball for nearly a decade.

UGA won't lose this lead at this point...but helluva first half by the Gamecocks.

Bonds and McGuire made baseball exciting and has only gone downhill since then

Sosa/McGuire did...Bonds said f that and quadrupled his dose.

When Rattler is on , he is a stud , I personally would use a top 30 pick on him

Haven't seen it yet from him.  Happy feet, wildly inconsistent and doesn't play to his athleticism level IMO.

You would have happy feet too , if you were playing GA without your starting OTs

he was awesome the first half

Maybe I'm blinded by him wearing 6, but this Lovett kid is a helluva WR.

Have never seen it from Rattler

Bama is in trouble trouble

Georgia's qb reminds me of crazy eyes from Mr deeds. And that one leg sleeve thing alone makes me want South Carolina to win.

And I'm just seeing rattler has the same thing. Why?

Beck legit looks like he got a touch of the downs

These other top teams have been getting more and more 4 and 5 star recruits , not just Bama anymore

I just want to punch him

Carson Beck wins starting QB job as Georgia looks to three-peat

He does make it easy to want to punch his face.

Cash Jones, a white running back. My new favorite player!
