If I was an NFL player, especially Tua, I would be looking at McConnell’s medical exam with concern.  He has frozen twice during press conferences so I would suspect this has happened more times but the exam with brain scan, EEG and MRI concluded no seizure disorder, no Parkinson’s, no stroke.  Concludes with mention of continued recovery from his fall in March.  Basically, this sounds like post concussion syndrome and a relatively significant version.  Note that in my industry we studied TBIs at length. Full recovery takes some time but as good as it will get is between 9-12 months for the most part.  McConnell had two injuries within a year so that’s why Tua comes to mind.  Can you imagine if Tua froze in the middle of a play?

I just heard Kelce, I thought it was our guy.  Nevertheless, knowing how close they are, it is not a good thing.  I hate when players before the season even starts.

Wishing Travis a speedy recovery.

So, if you study TBI.  Do people freeze like this in post concussion syndrome?  I've known a few people (younger) that had this, but most of their issues were related to things like memory.  It was nothing like this.

For McConnell, I have to wonder how often he freezes like this.  If he's done it twice in front of cameras, he's absolutely done it dozens of times not in front of cameras.  He might not even be realizing that he's doing it.

Could be a Jalen Carter thing where the legal stuff was quietly resolved, and the civil suit will take another month or two to pop up. Probably particularly quiet because he’s not yet connected to the NFL. We’ll see if anyone touches him, they’ll know

I would think the legal stuff being a DUI with a death where he (allegedly, or possibly) was the drunk driver responsible who crashed into the deceased, would be a little bigger than what went down with Carter, who wasn't actually involved in an accident.

But, yes... the NFL teams certainly know more about it.  I'm sure he's agent is informing everyone of things as they shake out.

Does that make our defense so bad we don't need a punt returner?

It lists a punt returner.

However, on further inspection there's also no holder.  This is starting to feel like Madden, where you were not allowed to punt and always have to go for 2.

Some players have left the league even at the height of their career because of medical reasons. I feel like Tua is definitely gambling

Lot of good tidbits.

Hargrave’s favorite thing he’ll miss from Philly is we don’t practice on wednesdays late in the season (and cam Heyward couldn’t believe it). apparently that’s not a thing anywhere else, but it seems work for us. He said it was because we were big into sports science.

He also said it was down to Cleveland, SF, and Philly in FA. But once Howie found out what SF’s mammoth offer was, his response was basically "Philly loves you Javon, but we ain’t payin you this.” And Hargrave laughed about it.

He said his first impression of Kelce was when he was in still in Pittsburgh. He thought he was the bees knees, but Kelce smothered him so badly all game that he questioned if he was an NFL caliber player.

The mods are pretty relaxed around here. But telling someone to kill themselves and calling them subhuman seems a smidge over the line for a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon methinks.

I mean, he just told a piece of subhuman trash to kill themself. Seems pretty ban worthy.

Agreed, a harmless cartoon shouldnt warrant that kind of reaction.

He's a troll, same as RTK.

My fuzzy thoughts about Sunday's game.

I have little respect for Bill O'Brien. I think our D will handle them pretty well. They're down their best OL - Reiff - both guards are already banged up, and GB (against whom they played their starters for a half) generated heavy pressure rushing four, with two sacks, one of them a strip-sack, and GB's four is a far cry from ours. Their TEs can't block and they lack deep speed. They have one QB and a guy they picked up last week.

NE will have to win with defense. Which they can - they have just about everybody back. Against GB they did a lot of 5-man line and mush rush. I'm sure that was in preparation for Hurts. Bringing five takes away most of the RO and keeps the QB in the pocket.

And they have two rookie kickers, so no edge there.

Having Patricia should give us a bit of an edge.

Eagles 27

Pats 17
