There were like 3 linemen downfield on that New England TD.

I mean... the Jets were screwed since their OL is kinda trash. I'm actually okay with them not sacrificing Hall that game lol

Watching the Dolphins just makes me more upset with how trash our playcalling/design has been. Also, maybe Tua was annointed too early. What a terrible decision.

Yeah I just don't see how we could beat the Dolphins.  Felt the same last year after all the reports of how we couldn't do anything against them defensively in the joint practices and then they got off to their hot start before the Tua concussions started happening.  If he stays healthy they are probably the most lethal team in the NFL.

Freezing cold takes, line 1.

That's how you play CB.  Most would just run to the WR and not even look for the ball.

New England’s defense is legit. If mac jones was more than just solid they’d be a legit contender. But in the afc it’s going to be just a wild card berth if that.

Christian Gonzalez is going to be a really good corner for a long time. If Carter was off the board, good chance he could’ve been the selection.

They have nice TE's but are still lacking at WR.  Not sure if they got a slightly better QB than Mac that it would make a difference.

Don’t disagree they could use better weapons at WR. However juju, Bourne and Parker aren’t awful. Not top of the league but competent especially with geisicki and Henry. They also have Stevenson in the backfield. i still think mac jones is just an average starter and in the afc it’s likely just good enough to be a fringe playoff team.

Full disclosure, I was not high on Zach Wilson as a prospect.  Strong arm, awful footwork, and playing against weak competition shouldn’t have put him in the top 5 discussion in the draft.  He had serious red flags about his lack of leadership as well.

I only watched their game today up to the part where the Jets converted a fake punt on 4th and half-a-yard, only to punt again four plays later on 4th and half-a-yard.  I was alarmed at Wilson’s terrible mechanics trying to run the most basic of plays.

There was a play-action pass where Wilson rolled to his right and tried a short pass to Marvin Mims, which wasn’t even close to a completion.  Where any other NFL QB rolls flat (almost sideways), near the LOS and throws an easy, high percentage pass — Wilson dropped about 10 yards behind the LOS and made a high percentage throw become rather difficult.  The resulting play was closer to an interception than a completion.

I almost feel bad for Jets fans (it’s New York, so I don’t).  Many of them feel that with a really good defense, all Zach Wilson has to do is "manage the game”, and they’ll be able to compete.  I don’t see it.  I’m alarmed by how poorly he’s been developed by the Jets’ coaching staff(s).

Jones needs to keep his throws like 20 yards and under. All of his deep shots are horrid.

I am with you on that. I thought maybe him working with and seeing Aaron Rodgers  up close all off-season would help. And maybe Nathaniel Hackett could help in his development from what he got from his previous coach. Maybe he wouldn’t become what they envisioned but enough development to be competent.

But watching today, his footwork is bad. His mechanics in general are lousy. He routinely makes bad decisions especially when the jets fall behind. doesn’t go through his progressions fast enough and with their oline by the time he does he’s already being hit or sacked. Like you said, a routine throw that he managed to make into a difficult throw that gets nearly picked.

I know the jets won’t face a Dallas type defense every week but i don’t think they can go all year with Wilson and expect to make the playoffs in the afc. Not sure there’s an answer out there that can step in off the streets and be viable. Even if you sign a guy it’s gonna take them a couple weeks to grasp and learn the offense.

Geisicki with a smart move to lateral it backwards and just short of the first… what a strange play…

We got robbed of a highlight. Boooooo

That’s super close

Dunno how they overturned that

I suspect we might be 2-3 weeks away from a Jets-Vikings trade for Kirk Cousins.  The Vikings didn’t extend or restructure Cousins so he’s gone after this season, anyway — thus he’s a rental, who won’t be around when Rodgers returns in 2024.  The Vikings can afford to be more patient than the Jets can, because I think they know they can wait until the trade deadline, whereas the Jets cannot.

I could see it. Jets have just $9.5 mil of cap space so I’m assuming they’d restructure some contracts to make it happen. Curious on the compensation as the jets don’t have a second rounder cause of the rodgers deal. Minnesota should ask for their first knowing how dire the situation is. If I’m the jets i shoot for swapping heir first for Minnesota’s 2nd and throwing in a 3rd as well. I’m guessing Minnesota holds firm at a first

Ugh, the matchups for week 3 are not good. Just nothing interesting.

I’m kind of interested in the Eagles-Tampa Bay game

There's a decent amount of interesting matchups.

Chargers should’ve fired him last year. Squandering a talented roster and his defense which is his speciality has been as bad as when he got there but they’ve added more talent.
