Wentz would get crushed behind that OL. I was pretty much saying they have no hope lol.

You just need someone back there that can make a read and hit the easy throws to take some pressure off the OL. Right now teams can just tee off on them because Wilson sucks.

They do. I suspect the OL would look better with a better QB out there.

Where are they going to find this better QB this late in the stage? You're getting guys off of the street or someone off of another team's bench or practice squad at this point. I don't think anyone can save the Jets OL. They're the reason the better QB Rodgers is now rehabbing. Wilson is likely their best option unfortunately for them.

Arizona went in to halftime remembering they are supposed to tank so they had to lower their game even further so doofus could beat them.

Side note: what happened to Barkley is why players HATE the franchise tag.

It's also why they don't pay big money to RBs. Sucks to be a RB these days they take all the risk with no reward.

I would say Matt Ryan but he won't hold up with that line. Foles maybe because he knows the RPO. He can get it off quick and has laser accuracy on short quick throws. And he doesn't turn the ball over. Wentz has more talent then what they have but a Zach and Wentz QB room? Attitude much?

That's why all the kids want to play WR these days. More money less beatings.

There's lots of better options; it just depends on timing.  Neither the Jets nor that media market are going to accept mailing in the season this early, and the Jets face the Patriots next.  It's very doubtful Wilson will look much better against a Belichick defense.  Next up is the Kansas City Chiefs.  There's a winnable game in Denver after that, but the Eagles are the opponent after that.

There aren't any inspiring options, but the Jets might only need serviceable QB play -- as in last season.  Mike White was able to get a few wins and keep them in the playoff hunt.  What they're looking for is a rental QB who wouldn't be a consideration if Rodgers is back full time next season.  That list could include:

Wentz

Foles

Cousins

McCoy

Cousins isn't available. After all they gave for Rodgers they aren't going to pay the price Minnesota would demand to nuke their own season.

Everyone is making the great QBs pick them apart and try to beat them down the field. I would hope by Week 3 we see that adjustment. I know Stoutland will have the run game coordinator.

More Goedert seam routes to make the zone work would be a nice counter that hasn't been utilized yet.

On Goedert, I would like to see crossing or quick out routes (after chipping the LB to sell the run) more than seam routes.  With the DBs playing back and the LBs having to respect the run, the short middle and short out should be the weak spots in the defense

I honestly thought the Bucs would be 0-2 heading into eagles game , super young team , 14 rookies , and a new offense

that said eagles should take the W

I am not suprised they beat the Bears.  They looked very good on defense in both games.  Baker also hasn't made bad mistakes.  Bowles is a tough match up for Hurts.  The Eagles have more talent but it's not like they haven't been shaky on both sides of the ball.

That's why I alluded to timing.  Cousins isn't available yet.  Vikings are currently 0-2 and Cousins is a UFA at the end of this season, with the Vikings not willing to extend.  MIN has a pretty easy next 4 games; it's possible the Vikings go 3-1 in that stretch and get back into the division.  If they keep losing the next two weeks, though -- why would they NOT trade him?  Get a draft pick now, or nothing after this season?

A Cousins trade isn't likely, but neither was a Sam Bradford trade a few years ago.

Has Baker landed yet?

Thoughts on Reddick's play so far?

Is it just him catching up on the missed practice time?  Limited by the hand?

Because if he gets going, along with Swift, Carter, et.al., it could get epic along the DL.

Rodgers was never going to survive behind that oline

Was going to say the Vikings potentially could win a couple games and it changes. They have vs. chargers, at Carolina, vs. KC and at bears. Like you said 3 winnable games and could go 3-1. But if they keep losing, I think another issue for the Jets is they might get to a point in season where by the time the Vikings are willing to deal Kirk cousins they are 1-5. Jets got vs. pats, vs kc, at Denver and vs eagles then a bye. There’s a chance the jets are 1-5. Granted schedule after the bye is not as hard at giants, vs chargers, at Vegas, at bills, vs. Miami, vs. atlanta, vs. Houston, at Miami, vs. Washington, at browns and at NE. That said i see them losing to Miami, bills and another. So if they are 1-5 does going 8-3 in their last 11 to get them to 9-8 get them in the playoffs? Really feel at worse they want to be 2-4 and I’m not even sure with cousins they go 8-3 in that stretch.

I'm not overly concerned yet. He had a slow start last year, and like you mentioned he missed a lot of practice, recovering from an injury, and teams are more focused on him. I think with Sweats hot start, the emergence of Carter, and if Jordan Davis can continue to develop, that will create better opportunities for Reddick as teams try to pick their poison.

The Eagles are gonna rotate punters and returners all year aren’t they. Just keep rotating guys from the practice squad

I imagine Covey and Scott are the returners absent injury.  I don't know about punters being rotated but I hope they can find someone that's more effective than Siposs.

Gannon did not gut them.

He tried the Jonah style fish gutting method, where you do it from the inside.   He ended up just getting swallowed instead.    Jonah also failed at gutting the fish, but at least he got out of it.

At some point I wonder if they decide Oz either can return punts are he's gone. Oz & Covey on the roster is probably one too many

I haven't watched any replays but it seems like he's gotten some pressure but hasn't gotten home.  A big part of his game is setting up moves and using a hand swipe.  So, I wonder if that has impacted his game.

My guess is the Jets have reached out, but the Vikings asking price would be way too high.  Why wouldn't it be?  If you think another team is desperate for a starting QB, you're going to ask for their 1st round pick -- which the Jets would/should never give up.  If I were the Jets I would offer a 2024 3rd and a 2025 3rd, but the Vikings would be unlikely to move their starting QB for that, as it would leave them basically in the same position the Jets are in right now.

For the Jets, my opinion last week was bring in a quality backup in case Zach Wilson can't get the job done.  After watching a bit of Wilson and his 9-for-20 yesterday, I think they have to seriously consider a more immediate alternative at QB.

Yes I think it's the hand largely.  11 days should help there a lot

I’m guessing the Vikings would be likely asking for a first knowing the desperation of the jets and that they are in win now mode. I think the jets try to get creative and be like our first for Vikings second and jets give a 3rd as well. Vikings are going to be worse if they deal cousins. And if the jets actually believe cousins can at least get them to a divisional round game with a chance to win then that pick is mid 20s or worse. Hypothetically say it falls at 24. Vikings second with hoe bad they could be may be 35-40 range. Granted it could blow up in the jets face if cousins fails cause Vikings definitely arent going to be decent if cousins is gone. The backup is nick mullens. I say this cause i can see Joe douglas thinking he’s on the hot seat so needs to make the move to try and save his job.
