He tried the Jonah style fish gutting method, where you do it from the inside.   He ended up just getting swallowed instead.    Jonah also failed at gutting the fish, but at least he got out of it.

I see someone used their Sunday off from football to get right with God.

My guess is the Jets have reached out, but the Vikings asking price would be way too high.  Why wouldn't it be?  If you think another team is desperate for a starting QB, you're going to ask for their 1st round pick -- which the Jets would/should never give up.  If I were the Jets I would offer a 2024 3rd and a 2025 3rd, but the Vikings would be unlikely to move their starting QB for that, as it would leave them basically in the same position the Jets are in right now.

For the Jets, my opinion last week was bring in a quality backup in case Zach Wilson can't get the job done.  After watching a bit of Wilson and his 9-for-20 yesterday, I think they have to seriously consider a more immediate alternative at QB.

Do the Jets have the cap space to take on Cousin's contract?

That's why all the kids want to play WR these days. More money less beatings.

Smart... that's where the league is trending.

There's lots of better options; it just depends on timing.  Neither the Jets nor that media market are going to accept mailing in the season this early, and the Jets face the Patriots next.  It's very doubtful Wilson will look much better against a Belichick defense.  Next up is the Kansas City Chiefs.  There's a winnable game in Denver after that, but the Eagles are the opponent after that.

There aren't any inspiring options, but the Jets might only need serviceable QB play -- as in last season.  Mike White was able to get a few wins and keep them in the playoff hunt.  What they're looking for is a rental QB who wouldn't be a consideration if Rodgers is back full time next season.  That list could include:

Wentz

Foles

Cousins

McCoy

Wentz and Foles wouldn't make it through 3 games with that OL

9.5 mil I’m guessing they’d restructure some contracts to make it work.

Whelp...the Vikings would have to swallow $28M in dead cap this season (rather than next, if they held on to Cousins all season).  They only have $12M available now, but about twenty if they move Cousin's salary to the Jets.

At some point I wonder if they decide Oz either can return punts are he's gone. Oz & Covey on the roster is probably one too many

How has Oz looked as a receiver thus far?

Granted if I’m gonna be bad anyway i rather take the hit now as compared to next year.

Send him a Twitter/X message asking him where to get it.

Exactly my point. Do you really need him & Covey as a WR? Neither will get much action. Even if Watkins gets hurt I'm not even sure they'll play much

There's a decent amount of interesting matchups.

Phillies - Braves is one of the better ones.

Siposs is gone.

The Jets would be more likely to sign Matt Ryan.

Cheaper than Cousins, doesn't cost them any more draft capital, he's been to the playoffs and a Super Bowl.  All he has to do is not make all the mistakes Wilson makes.

22nd in Punt Average for Sip

and 22nd in Net Average

If I'm Matt Ryan I'd rather stay in the broadcast booth than try to survive behind that turnstile of an O-line the Jets are fielding.

Ryan is retired; he just can't file paperwork because it impacts how much he would get paid from the Colts, I believe .....

Eagles line opening up at -6.5.  O/(U) at 46.5.

Bucs are 2-0 and a touchdown underdog at home.

I don't think he's officially retired.

Unless there's something more recent that I'm not seeing?

My gut says Avonte plays games for us this year. Back in January.
