Love that.  I don't think there's room for multiple startup leagues.  Love to see them merge and become stronger.

I haven't watched hardly any of the USFL or XFL so not sure what their ratings are like.

I don't think these leagues will work unless A) there is several big names that play for the league or B) it is somehow associated with the NFL like a minor league or G-league.

Only a matter of time before we start seeing lopsided Hurts shirts and jerseys show up in third world countries where Nike dumps them

Been a big issue with their elite jerseys. Before they went to the FUSE jerseys their numbers on the jersey had the wrong color scheme. When they switched over to the vapor fuse the color scheme was wrong on the numbers like previous but they also are using the wrong size eagles logo on the sleeve. It looks like they just purchased the jerseys from a cheap knockoff site. Fanatics is using a company called silver crystal sports for their embroidering. They’ve done a lousy job but they don’t care cause they already have a contract with fanatics so it’s been a major issue

- WR Brandon Marshall
- WR Jordy Nelson
- TE Antonio Gates
- RB Jamaal Charles
- OL TJ Yang
- OL Josh Sitton
- OL Max Unger
- EDGE Julius Peppers
- DL Haloti Ngata

The run game against the Vikings is not sustainable if the Eagles continue to struggle in the air. Hurts needs to start seeing the field better, and I think he will start to do that. While I don't like forcing the ball to certain players, they need to get AJ involved more and early. Goederts targets will come, but they really need to get AJ going and I'd like to see him play more in the slot to create mismatches.

The Eagles have polar opposite stats on both sides of the ball. On offense they are top 5 rushing but bottom 5 in passing, defense is top 10 against the run but bottom 10 against the pass.

It's sustainable if these foolish DCs keep trying to do what NE did Week 1. Highly likely we could have had this same success against NE if they so desired to run the ball and punish the LBs when they ran up to the LOS like they were. Minny learned first hand that ish isn't going to work anymore.

Plus Hurts hit Smith for two long passes (one TD) and had AJ when he was interfered with (no call) and another called back

Gates is the only easy yes in this group, imo.

Football is not THAT complicated.  Players do have to be aware of scenarios, looks, and assignments...which can be challenging to keep together over the course of a high speed play.  So it's not uncomplicated.  What I'm saying is that the evolution of football for guys who can presumably do these things is not THAT complicated.

Exotic looks are for the club.  Not defenses.  If it were that simple to stop an elite passing offense with "exotic looks," then it would be a defensive league.  And if it is that simple, then it's not an elite offense.  There are only so many ways to blitz, cover, and stop an offense.  There is a reason you don't just have 32 defenses dropping 8 guys into amorphous zones as their defensive scheme.

Not only do you need to run all over that, but you also need to undercut those zones with relentless 5-7 yard gains in the passing game too.  The biggest missing element for this offense is the ability to string together completions.  Drives will break down eventually if it's all running game and home run strikes.  I don't want to be all about a dink and dunk offense, but you need to reliably get 5-10 yards.

Ok… yes, you’re definitely right. Didn’t realize he was that high on the sacks list. Maybe it was all of those years playing in small markets.

One of my favorite things ever is Julius Peppers’ college transcripts from UNC

I am so tired of boozed up NFL game fan culture. The league is in bed with the alcohol companies so they’ll never do it, but just stop serving alcohol or put a cap on it at this point. If you can’t go to a game without getting loaded up, then maybe let someone who wants to enjoy the experience go instead.

What current CBs still shadow the best receiver? Do teams just have them stick to their side now?

Stopping in the stadium won't matter. It's the tailgating where people show up 8 hrs before game time and get loaded in the parking lot

There really isn't any true shut down corners anymore except maybe Gardner

That’s terrible. All over a sport where your existence has zero to do with the outcome

That's what I thought but I haven't been watching other teams like I used to. I guess teams don't have them shadow and move around wherever the receiver goes. Had a feeling teams were just having the CB locking down one side and just giving help to the other side now

In addition, if we play more man match, the D-Line is going to have fewer QB Hurries and more QB Sacks.  Making the QB go through progressions rather than throwing quickly to his first target will do that.

Once Maddox went down, of the 5 DBs on the field only Slay was a carry over from last year.  That much change, especially with two of the players only in their second year, there are going to be inevitable growing pains ... and both LBs being new only adds to the lack of chemistry.

What did your All22 review show you regarding Sydney Brown as the gunner on the other side of the field from Ringo?

He beat Ringo down the field on one occasion.  He plays like his hair is on fire.  Can only double block one of them.  Eagles didn’t double block.  Calcaterra is a disappointment on STs.  Matter of time before Albert O supplants him.
