I'm not a gambler either but if I were and I had money on the giants I'm pretty pissed that Williams is still in the game

He did not make sure the winner did not cover. He mostly affected over/unders by pushing them over.

There is a specific term for making sure the favorite does not cover: Point Shaving.

All other forms of manipulating the game are also referred to as point shaving even if its beyond what the original term meant in 1951.

IMO That was perfectly legal for a player who was still trying to advance the ball.

The refs can't have it both ways. If they want to hold the whistle long after contact then you have to expect additional contact until the runner is down.

 

QBs should not slide into players and refs should not blow whistles as a player is flying into the pile and expect them to stop in mid-tackle.

Mark bavaro was such a  stud before the knee injury.
